Yep it should be cooked, depending on the wattage of your microwave. 3 minutes should be perfect for a 1100 to 1200 watt microwave for 1 ear of corn. How did yours turn out?
@@inthekitchenwithmatt The leaves and silks slipped right off the cob, wow what an amazing trick! I nuked each ear 3 minutes each, one at a time. The coloring was somewhat uneven so I boiled them in water for a few minutes to finish them off and they were super sweet. I’m kinda ocd about the silks and usually takes me FOREVER to prep corn on the cob. Thanks for the tip!
@@inthekitchenwithmattI did mine for 3 minutes but after removing the leaves was still a little hard. I added 2 mins. more andcame out perfect and so,so sweet. Thank you
The High setting which is the standard setting. My microwave is a 1200 watt microwave, so it may take longer depending on how powerful your microwave is. You will just have to experiment.
Because I only eat 1 haha, I live alone. It is about the same time meaning if you have 3 in there, it will still be about 9 minutes, maybe a little less like 8. So you don't really save any time putting more in, so if I have more than 1 I still do them one at a time. If you have a lot to do, doing them in the oven or boiling them in a big pot will probably be better, or on the grill, but if you just have a few to do, this way is the best in my opinion. But with those other options you still have to deal with shucking and the silks.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt I made 3 last night, in for 7 minutes, turned once. They were a tad overdone, but good. 3 of us were eating together, so it's nice that they came out at the same time. Thanks for your reply.
@@jimtomczak7374just an idea, but often people hv the oven warm already so if ur worried about temp, cover them w foil in a low oven or hot oven turned off. People do the same trick for pancakes:)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt 700 watt, husk on, 3 minutes. Tried 2 minutes, corn ok but not pulling silk off. I understand the concept of the steam but it has to be just me
@@christinemlinek5746 Yeah that is weird! My microwave is 1200 watts and I have never fried my corn at 3 minutes, it always comes out great. Maybe try soaking the corn on the cob in water first for a few minutes then put it in the microwave. Only do 1 ear, and go 3 to 4 minutes and see if that works better.
One hundred percent doesn't work like that. Notice the jump cut from starting to squeeze to the corn coming out? That's in every single one of these videos because it never ever just slides out. It's a great way to cook corn, but you still have to do a bit of shucking
Wrong it totally works. Zero shucking. The corn slides out if you wiggle it or pull it out. I do it ALL the time. Here is a more recent video of the same technique. ruclips.net/video/1EJ1lrDgaqs/видео.html
Yes it pretty much does, I been doing this for a cpl years now and it is Hands down the Best way to Quickly do corn on the cob ... gonna go do a cpl cobs Right Now 👍🏼🌽
I came here b/c I heard about this, and you showed how to do it in a 1 minute video!
Awesome!
Kapow!! Mind blown. I have to try this, thanks Matt.
You are so very welcome, Joy!! :) :)
I cooked 6 ears. Delicious. Thank you.
You are so very welcome!! Glad you tried it and liked it.
Gonna try this in a few minutes.
Awesome!!
So is the corn cooked after the 3 minutes or still kinda raw? I’ve got an ear or corn in the microwave right now guess I’ll find out soon 😁

How many can you do at a time?
You can do up to 3 or 4 but it will take longer.
How many time need to be ready in the microwave?
Hi Martin, I am not sure what you are asking, can you please clarify? Are you asking how many at a time can be put in the microwave?
@@inthekitchenwithmatt yes
@@MegaMartin73 You can put about 3 at a time, but you will need to adjust the time. about 8 minutes if you have 3 of them.
Excelente dica!!❤️🇧🇷
Thanks!

I tried it and the corn pieces popped like popcorn
Did you leave it in the husk?
What's with doing just one at a time? How much time for more than one?

Try 5 minits..corn comes out cooked..
Depends on you microwave. Mine is a 1200 watt. 3 minutes is perfect. If yours is a lower wattage, it will take longer.
I put 4 ears in. Trying it on 6 minutes, first.
with 4 ears, 6 minutes probably won't be enough. How did it go?
