Congrats!! I was the “water guy” I’m glad we were able to keep you hydrated !😜 I’m also the coach of the Empire Speed Team in Central Park.Come out and join us for a practice. You’ll become a better speed skater! 😎
This is seriously a good video. I'm going to show it to skaters I coach who are thinking of doing this event. I was in the group that passed you at about the 19:20 mark, love what you say: that's insane. It's true, that's what I was thinking. Congrats on your marathon!
Wow---Blind Inline Skater. Fantastic Will & Determination. Respect. Hats Off!! No reason for any of us who are not blind to complain about not being able to slide, stop or learn any aspect of skating.
Fantastic. Really enjoyed watching that. The hill was awesome especially the run weaving in and out through the others. What a great day. Thanks very much. Looking forward to your next upload!...... Cheers from Australia 👍
Thank you for posting, it was so much fun experiencing this through you! I found myself smiling throughout, especially at some of your reactions and commentary. Apologising to no one in particular for having to litter and dropping the water bottle sound exactly like something I would do. 😂 Going down those hills must've felt exhilarating!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was an amazing experience and I wanted to share it with my subscribers, maybe inspire them to participate in an inline skating marathon too.
I’m a little late but awesome job. Thanks for filming. I did this a looong time ago when they first moved the race to Prospect Park. It used to be held in Central Park. I remember that hill very well! I was getting flashbacks watching. Skating in a pack downhill is such a rush.
Great Job! I love this race! Did it 8 of the last 10 years, 42K... 2019 was one of the times I couldn't make it.. Thanks for the video! Edit: Shout-Out to Francisco!
Great job man! In 20:10 mark the guy in the green uniform is one of the nicest guys I believe his name is Herb. He’s been around for a long time and a wonderful guy to know. I’m sure he will skate the SilverStrand in Nov. here is SoCal. Race is in San Diego, it’s a fun race but usually only 13miles so it’s faster. However this year I believe it’s only 8 miles because of some construction but everyone enjoys it so check it out!
You guys were flying! It’s not something I’ve ever wanted to try but this actually looks like a lot of fun. I like the tactical aspect of skating in a line. There’s defo a lot more to it than just lacing up your skates and going for it. Something you’ll do more?
Definitely. I'm always trying to grow as a skater and bring you guys fresh content. I was actually invited to go to the Berlin Marathon but had to pay for the flight (all else was covered) but I couldn't afford it sadly
This looks so fun and scary at the same time. I am amazed that they don't even wear wrist guard. I am scared for them. Maybe is because, I smashed my face on the floor last week and had to go to A&E. I fell doing no where near as fast😂 I remembered how happy I was before the fall.
that was awesome. I'm training so I can skate a whole marathon. still a long way to go though. I finished a half marathon 21km in the same time you got the full marathon XD Legs and feet still can't manage the stress.
Well you have a good deal of muscle which tends to be a disadvantage in marathons unless all in your lower extremities. Awesome job though. Great Video!
You should be confident in your technique before trying something dangerous. Learning how to fall properly is part of it also. Some people avoid falling in the beginning, but as you become a better skate the stakes are higher. If your first fall is when you're going fast or jumping high you wont be ready. Wear pads and make mistakes/practice in a controlled environment that way your ready when it happens in the real world
I decided I'm just gonna order these Twister Edge skates on Amazon since I dont wanna be disappointed with hockey skates. Says they're advanced level but does it really matter that much? I dont wanna start out with cheap skates. Edit: Actually nvm says it's for all skill levels.
Why do you grabbed each other in line? Does that helps you in not getting tire more quickly? I'm new to skating but now I'm really excited to get my rollerblades. Thank you for this video it felt very satisfying to watch it.
Hey man I hope you still continue to make videos. I'm planning on getting some new skates this week but all I can get are some hockey inlines since the other stores are closed when I work. Is it a bad idea to start with those? I dont wanna order online since I'm too impatient and I wanna try them on first. I'll be skating in the street and at a park.
Hockey skates might not be ideal to start with. They tend to have less ankle support which isn't necessarily the best thing for beginners. They can also be very uncomfortable if not sized correctly
@@BINY_Channel Alright thanks bro. I'm probably gonna get them anyway lol since I wanna start asap. And it's a hockey shop so I think they can get the right fit for me.
@@BINY_Channel thank you I’m in the south and we do not do things like this how are you in your RUclips channel does it help to make videos and have the videos about New York
The long frames on speed skates are very stable. Your hockey skates have short frame and are probably rockered, which is the least stable setup you can be on.
@@BINY_Channel Hey thanks for your message :) Just this year I've realised how I love skating long distances, and also high speed, but I hadn't even considered skating a marathon until I saw your video! I'm hoping to get some new skates soon that I can change the frame on so I can do other types of skating like speed skating :) only problem is I live in the UK and skating is much less popular here so I'm not even sure if we have skate marathons 🤔

Excellent video, there are several high speed sections. What skate did you use?
I used the Rollerblade Endurace 125. Thanks for watching
How do you do marathon on quads? those boots are lot lower than 4x76s!
Why do you grabbed each other in line? Does that helps you in not getting tire more quickly? I'm new to skating but now I'm really excited to get my rollerblades. Thank you for this video it felt very satisfying to watch it.
Its called drafting or slipstreaming, it for aerodynamics. By skating in a line we reduce wind resistance and build more speed
Cool video
Nice work skating & video!
Does anyone know of a speed skating group or marathon in the Atlanta area?
Nice bruv! What's your setup? :)
I was using the Rollerblade Endurace 125
@@BINY_Channel Thx! :)
Number 1 plz plzplz plz dont litter. Number2. I wish i could do this!!!! How long is one lap?
Didnt want to, had no choice, I apologized as I did it. Each lap was 3.36 miles. Usually happens every year, not this one, due to Covid19
This looks like so much fun! What setup were you using here?
I use the Rollerblade Endurace 125

Hi Blade in NY. Is this an annual event and what date is the race? I have done a couple of Berlin Marathons and would love to try NY.
Its annual and happens the same week as the Berlin Marathon

@@BINY_Channel Thank you! I think I'm going to sign up for this, can't do Berlin all the time. Is it a challenging course you think?
@@jerryandersson1540 there is alot of hills and the road is a bit damaged here and there

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
How do they track the times? Do they give you a tracker that registers everytime you pass the finish line?
There is a small chip that's taped to your helmet. And there's a gate at the lap start, when you pass through it, your time is logged.
@@BINY_Channel Cool, I would hate for any cheating to occur. Also nice to have your exact times for reference.
superb
Glad you enjoyed. Check out our other videos. Thanks
@@BINY_Channel Well this is the second time i watched the same video. loved the downhill speed and narration
Does the person behind the front of the group push the front? Since he isn't slowed by wind resistance?
The only person who has wind resistance is the person all the way in the front of the line. Everyone's pushes including him/her.
@@BINY_Channel I see.. Do you a vid explaining the mechanics and etiquette of this I can refer too? If not, would love to see one! :D
Not really a marathon/speed skater. This was my first race. I'll see if I can find a video and drop the link here.

You were going fast AF.
The announcer sounds like Nick Cannon lol
I would wear puffy gloves so no lady could say I was touching her butt on purpose.
Or for the current year: Bear Paws.
That hill looks dangerous because people are crossing the streets!, some are just jogging and walking. that's not safe.
If I were the woman in front of you I’d be kinda uncomfortable with the amount of time my butt is the only thing the camera sees. Lol
And the hand placement lol
Excuse but for real? Not even an helmet, bad choise
