    This girl is so cool, not only does she admit she “forgot, is out of” ingredients, she takes the time to teach us substitutes. Ive been cooking for 40+ years and she is a total blast to watch and learn from. Thank you for sharing and God Bless.

    I think you did a fabulous job sharing excellent recipes!!! I saw a few that criticized anything that wasn't perfect and I feel bad for them, not you!! You owned up on camera to some mistakes and that is what makes home cooking real. I'm 61, love to cook, and still mess up at times. You were graceful and honest and have my respect.

    "The onion still has the little booty here, intact." That instantly got a sub out of me. They should teach it that way in culinary school.

    04/06/23 = Just wanted to say thank you again for teaching the world HOW to cook these dishes. Today I received my Immersion Blender from Amazon for like $20 and it works PERFECTLY just like in your video with the refried beans.... oh my God thank you. I did the hand mashing with the nonelectric masher and it was a lot of work but the immersion blender mashed ALL the beans in LESS than 2 minutes. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our lives EASIER in cooking, yeh!!!!
    You are amazingggggggggggggggggggggggg and an amazing CHEF and wonderful personality... the world LOVES you! hugs

    Excellent! I was watching your video and you have a God given charm about yourself. I wish you great success! Because I'm an old chap (68 and disabled), I order everything online from mechanic wrenches to food so that i don't have to go to any store. I'm not a rich man. I have 2 small pantries that I bought at Big Lots. I would love to fill one of them with YOUR selection of Mexican spices, etc. so that when I want to cook up something from our heritage I have just about everything I need in the pantry. I believe that a good home pantry needs a woman's touch. I generally go with Stainless steel pots but I see your beautiful cooking pot of many colors and I would love to know where you got them.

I get mine from Amazon, Costco, Aldi, and have been gifted 1, but I found all the Amazon links since they are the easiest way for everyone to find them.

    Wow, so impressive and really looks delicious. What impressed me a lot was that unlike other cooks/chefs I see in vids, you don't waste anything. You scrape the sauce that doesn't pour and add water to get all of it, much the same my late mom taught all us kids in the family. As well, you know how to make the actual scratch methods if you don't have tomato sauce or broth on hand. Very impressive. I was really hungry in the closing scene with the finished plate! Nice!!!!!

    I've been using clothes pegs for 30 years to seal packages. They are the best. Im back rewatching after about a year. I made tge Mexican rice today by memory but I wanted to check on a few of the steps.

      Some people found it annoying that I “wasn’t prepared” but who honestly always has every ingredient they need for every meal? I’m always winging it in the kitchen!

    We raise pinto beans here in Montana by the semi load it is so good to see someone make at home the flavor is so much better than the processed cans bacon fat lard shorting or venision fat all make great refried beans

    I wonder how many servings of each dish were made. It’s looks like a lot of work. The host of this show deserves a lot of credit. I might try to make it myself some day. Currently, I’m trying to learn how to make my own carne guisada.

    • @soilandsazon
      @soilandsazon  2 года назад

      The meat makes about 8 servings and the rice and beans about 12 servings depending on your serving size. Not exact but that’s roughly what they’d be. It actually not a lot of work at all! I did all 3 of those dishes in about 1hr and 30mins and that’s because I was filming. I make this dish when I’m trying to make something easy and simple for the night. My family loves it!

    I love the name and the food. I gotta say, you have an, uh, eclectic group of people commenting... (and that group of people is why I have no channel 😂 I am happy for people who can take it, I'm just not one of them). Thanks for sharing your food and I hope to check out some more videos from you! Hugs fellow Mama!

      Yea it gets interesting lol. But the amount of good, supportive kind comments really out weighs all the not so good ones. I’ve had to delete and block a few for sure but I’ve received far more kindness than I ever imagined😊
