    I ran a dedicated 20 amp line from my breaker box to a dedicated heavy duty 4 gang box using hospital grade plugs I installed in the wall behind my system.
    Use this for amps and source components only.
    My router, cable box, turntable light and anything else run to a standard 15 amp house circuit, that I added a 4 gang box, giving 8 places to plug those in.
    My main amp plugs wire run straight from the plug, straight to the breaker.,keeping as pure as possible

      Your not supposed to run Amps through surge protector or a avr / pre pro. According to gene from audio alcoholics. I think I still have the article saved if you care to read it . I ran 3 20 amp circuits and put 3 20 amp sockets in the wall to run my home theater. Some of the best money I spent for my ht..

    I've been binge watching some of your videos at work and just came across this one. I was actually contemplating these two exact power conditioners 2 weeks ago LOL. I guess I'm on the right path in my audio journey. I ended up going with w-3900 and 10awg power cord because it is the cheaper option now. I'll have to look into the PineTree power cables, thanks for the tip!

      My pleasure my friend. I really try hard to only bring truth as it is to me. If you scroll wayyyyy back in my video history, you will find me talking about not being able to hear a difference. It was only when I got to a level of resolution in my system that let those nuances through, could I notice a difference. And I don’t run super high end stuff. But it does take a certain level to really let it shine through. ❤❤❤❤

    The difference in power phase can often be “measured”, by comparing the difference in emission from the chassis of a device with a AC sensor one like the Supra pen. Apparently you also can get a measurable potential on the cabinets of interconnected devices, that are “out of phase”. I don’t have much understanding about how these things work, but have personally had my amplifiers transformer stop humming in response to my TV’s brightness and had severe phono stage hum go away by turning plugs. In each case I turned the plug of a different device then the one displaying the issue and in each case I could re-introduce the problem by turning that plug again. Using a mix of grounded and ungrounded components might be a factor.

    It has been my understanding that the Emotiva CMX-6 does only AC line noise filtering. I was just reading their description of the CMX-6 on the web page and it states that it also does "Precision DC offset filtering". Did Emotiva change the CMX-6 so it does the same DC filtering as the CMX-2 now or is the current description wrong on their web page?

    if this improves the sound then your system is really LoFi

    • @abxaudiophiles
      @abxaudiophiles  Год назад

      Well, that is actually kind of backwards, In a Lo-Fi system you may be hard pressed to hear a difference as typically those systems are not a resolving and revealing. In a Hi-Fi or even upper Mid-Fi system these changes and upgrades in linear power supplies can be drastic!! Cheers.. :) Stay tuned as we find out all the great details. PS - I have about $17,000 in my main system and it is VERY revealing to the slightest change. This should be a fun experiment.

    • @BwanaJesuasifiwe
      @BwanaJesuasifiwe Год назад +1

      @@abxaudiophiles No you have it backwards. any good system you buy have engineers who know more than you and even know more about their particular device and what exactly it needs and have thought this thing down to the last detail and built in the filter in the device. you adding another power filter is like washing your already sparkling clean plate again and expecting the food to taste better. pretty dumb. and in fact if you use a filter that was not designed for your particular device it can harm the performance by not delivering the power fast enough.

    • @abxaudiophiles
      @abxaudiophiles  Год назад

      I disagree, and that's ok. We are on the same team, and I don't need to be right. That is just my opinion :). Companies cut corners all the time to hit a price point and market. Utilizing a cheaper SMPS over a hefty LPS is one way among many (many do this). Then, other qualified engineers and designers capable of designing an upgraded part or parts that may have been left out to keep at that price point do so, and we have what we see here in the new LPS. I appreciate your opinion, and I love the feedback and thoughts. But we will end it here and agree to disagree, online debates are not fun. I guess we will find out the truth when we get the unit in and do the swap and review. :) Cheers, and have an awesome day! Stay tuned.
