We used to unplug the distributor take out the number one plug put our thumb over the hole bump the starter until the compression blew out passed our thumb but we also was pulling motors out using a tree as a engine hoist shade tree mechanic at is best keep wrenchin stay safe 👍

I use a small balloon on the end of the hose. It works great for when you don't have that extra hand to help you.
