- In the 2nd episode of Project Binky, we start to get down to the nitty gritty of the build. We strip out the front bulkhead, make all new suspension mounting points and drink a lot of tea. We also travel to Goodwood for a cheeky track day. The project to fit all of the running gear from a Toyota Celica ST185 GT-Four into a Mini 1000 without widening or lengthening it, really starts to take shape.

I have a project car that I started to work on since 2021 and I Estimated that it will take 3 months max and guess what it's still an ongoing project 😅

Re-watching this in December 2017.. i think thats still a bit optimistic for 2018.
Now mid Jan2018, can't wait for the car to be finished.
Its early February, and i can confirm, it is, infact, still not done.

This is incredible. I've seen a lot of projects with a lot of fabrication. But you guys push engineering to the limit.

Okay, I'm rewatching all episodes, and I have a question now I've seen this. You had the CNC mill to drill the large hole. Why didn't you use that to make the other holes as well? That would seem to be a lot easier, since you only need the measurements. Or am I missing something?

looking thorough old episodes 7.28 on this 18 Oct 2013 Mr Brunning states "we will certainly bring Binky to the track next year to see how she performs". Strange we never saw video of that I wonder why? Could it be as of 2 February 2021....some 7 1/2 years later she still isn't finished?? 😉🤔
Can't wait for the next instalment. Update on me in hotel room 424 Yas Island, overlooking the race track. Porsche racing going on ( better than nothing) great sounding cars ( never did like them as a rally car, we caught and passed a Porshe GT something on a stage doing the Belgium championship last year, happy days) now watching next instalment with electronic tens device on lower back ( zapping me) , deep heat spray 1mm thick over the area of back to be repaired, no signs of any repercussions from cleaning lady incident, all good.

"take Binky to the track next year" must be one of the most over optimistic plans ever....! Glad I re-watched this episode in 2021 as I'd forgotten how young and trusting we were back then..... now it would be "take Binky to the track in the Summer" never saying which summer.....

Let me tell you about this strange device we have in the shop here. It uses a flexible band of steel that has sharp teeth formed on one edge. This band circulates about two large wheels ............Oh, wait, I remember, it's called a bandsaw!!!! Do you really cut sheet steel with the grinder? Or have you just put that in to drive me around the twist?
Yep, all cutting is done with the grinder!
