*Great with keeping my 1st floor **Fastly.Cool** . Had a little struggle getting it to sit properly in my small window but once I got it situated it works perfectly.*
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I've been in the hvac business for over 50 years now and I must say you did every step right, ALLWAYS look the entire unit over b4 jumping in to it. Ask your customers questions about the problem they are experiencing. TECH TIP TAKE CARE OF YOUR KNEES USE A PAD!!! I'M IN MY 70'DS AND STILL LOVE HVAC. GREAT JOB!!!!
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm off work getting ready to have surgery on my neck to have 3 vertebrae fused. My heat went out and i certainly did not have cash for a service call. I went out to the unit and followed your video step by step and i now have heat. It ended up being a dirty igniter which was a quick fix thanks to you!!! Again, thank you and i hope you are showered with blessings!!!
I woke up today on Christmas Eve, it was 12° outside and my heat crapped out during the night. A friend shared this video with me and it saved my ass. Sucked on that pressure switch tube and cleaned the igniter. I don’t know what fixed it but the heat is on! Thank you for making this video.
Man thank you for this video. It starting to hit 30 below here and all I had to do for my heater to kick on was pull the 24 volt on the transformer to clear the code. Up and running and family is now warm tonight. 🙏🏽
👊🏽👊🏽been studying for 2 years to get my associates in HVACR. I’ve been installing Trane, variable, non-variable 1 and 2 stage systems for 9 months now. I hope to one day go commercial refrigeration with my side hustle as residential service/install.Watching your videos as your own Busniess owner, inspires me the most
Good video. I always clean the flame sensor and ignitor to a point where it shines like it is new from the company and I take a reading showing strong micro amps.
For any HVAC techs out there, he isn't wrong about nest Tstats being crap. Word of advice......pull the nest face off the wall before you pull the disconnect outside. There's an issue with the current nest generation that is shorting out the stat when the disconnects are pulled. Save yourself the headache!
I would just like to say thank you so much for this video. My heat stopped working last night. I watched several videos and saw this one. I have the whirlpool gold version of this machine. I replaced the capacitor in the air conditioning side two years ago but that’s the extent of my air-conditioning heating repairs. Mine was blowing out cool air and running briefly but no heat. I followed your advice my igniter was covered in soot. I cleaned it with sandpaper. After re-energizing the unit and turning heat on it lit perfectly and is working beautifully. I’ll definitely clean the flame sensor when I get a tool that allows me to get it unscrewed. But for now you’ve solved my problem thank you so much! 👊👊👊
I must say I really enjoy watching your videos! I think you bring confidence to the techs who watch your videos to keep going day to day, and to keep a good attitude . Also, it’s good for customers to see guys like you out there who truly care about taking care of them and not just out to make a quick buck. Keep it up Zach! I look forward to the next one!
Great videos. One suggestion is I like to use steel wool instead of sanding cloth. The silica residue from sanding cloth can cause some issues if not cleaned off completely. Keep up the great content and clean work.
Just got my first job in the trade back in April and I never knew that you could reset the fault lockout from disconnecting and reconnecting the transformer. Definitely going to remember that trick.
Great video as always Zac! Hope any new guys here are taking notes! Also another life saving tool, at least for me in heating season, is a flexible extension bit (Ryobi).
This video was super helpful. We're approaching the cooler months in Phx, AZ. I haven't worked on a gas unit before, but this is an exciting piece of knowledge because I can at least imagine where to look.
Honestly, I'd just clean them as a temporary fix then replace them. Using sand cloth will cause micro scratches that allow more crud build up faster and you'll be back there (or someone else will) in the next month doing the same thing. In my mind, cleaning them is really just a temporary solution when they're that far gone
Thanks for the video ! I found the 2 blinking light code, which says its a open pressure switch. I did as you showed and sucked on the pressure tube, NO audible sound came from the switch. I have a hvac repair coming out to fix. Its saturday and no parts store open, so hope they have a switch with them !!
I love how you wet step by step on how to troubleshoot the system and now I now how to a little bite more thanks. PS I would love if you come with some logo and other stuff just let me know if or when you plan make some thanks 😊
🤜🤛 Love watching your videos brother! New to the field, and it's awesome watching something I do just about on a daily basics. Keep up the great content, and Def go ahead with the merch. I think you'll do fine with it. Good luck and God Bless!
Love the channel, great content as always! I've learned a lot from your videos over the past couple of years, great thorough work! Question though, I've always been told to use Emory cloth to clean flame sensors/igniters because if you use sand paper you can get a glass film over the sensor/igniter (Because sand turns to glass when it gets hot). Have you ever heard of such thing? I was skeptical when a senior tech told me this. Once again, huge fan! Keep doing your thing!
Cleaned thousands flame sensor rods thousands of times. Even tried Supcos key chain tool for before (do not waste your money on) Steel wool, stainless steel scouring pad etc. I 99.9% of time clean with fine sandpaper trying to make smooth and shiny like this in this vid, then wipe clean with a clean rag or shirt sleeve. I still can't believe no spark because of that little dirt on spark assembly!
👊Would love to see some merch👊. I appreciate everything you do on your channel. I know I’ve personally learned a lot from watching your videos. Would love to see some merch and be able to support in that way.
So I have a Goodman unit that’s on top of my roof and the gas valve went bad last year . Just today I found out that the capacitor went bad . How common is that ? How could you check for a bad capacitor? c61 p2 that’s the part number that was on the bad one
I do enjoy your videos. But one comment is I was taught never suck on pressure switch because they work under such a low pressure way under 1 PSI. That will damage the switch. Just my thoughts. Thanks again

GREAT JOB!!!!
Awesome!!! Thanks for your feedback.
70! That is awesome! I'm looking to move into the field tech full time and love watching all these videos of best practices!
👊🏻 As a 20 year old studying to become an HVAC technician I really enjoy these videos so I can see what a day in a life looks like love the content
Relieved a lot of stress watching this before my next gas pack job. Thanks.

🤜🏻🤛🏻
Now this is a proper troubleshooting video! It will help new guys get a feel on what to look for when troubleshooting!
I wouldn't have taken off the ignitor and flame sensor with a drill due to the vibration but nice video regardless.
👊
i love watching you was born in florida and now live in nc

Wow! Thanks for this tip about the Nest!
This is a really great video. As a young tech who every once in a while is sent on a service call this helped me a lot thanks.

Just got my heat back up and running thanks to this video! Thanks!
best part of the job, is when u get paid...
Why use an unnecessary comma?
Still can't get enough of the HVAC video. Tkx
This was very detailed and helped me understand what was going on inside the unit. I'm greener than the grass in Ireland too! lol. Thank you!
Just got my first job in the trade back in April and I never knew that you could reset the fault lockout from disconnecting and reconnecting the transformer. Definitely going to remember that trick.
Is there an advantage to pulling the transformer wire verses just cycling the main power at the disconnect? Great video by the way.
@@Salyers-Family-2004 No

Thanks for this clip… helped me trouble shoot heat tonight… fan motor was partially seized..
Hey I always enjoy seeing you do some work. I’m 65 own my own business keep working

I also have heard that sand cloth could leave pieces of sand on the igniter and it can turn to glass eventually
I really enjoyed your videos, very good insight you're a good presenter. Lance
I work for a company and unfortunately i had to quit, but now I’m going back to hVAC and your videos have been helpful

So I have a Goodman unit that’s on top of my roof and the gas valve went bad last year . Just today I found out that the capacitor went bad . How common is that ? How could you check for a bad capacitor? c61 p2 that’s the part number that was on the bad one

👊 love videos man. I've been following u since I started back in 2019 I love the work. Also I'd love to see some hats man
👊🏻 some merch is a great idea
👊🏻 Let’s say the cleaning of the spark igniter did not work, how else would you be able to diagnose a bad spark igniter?
I have this exact Goodman package unit, not even 2 years old and it’s been junk. 3 capacitors, and now it won’t push out heat and is buzzing real loud
👊🏼
Great video man keep them coming. I also think you should follow through on your merch idea, I think that would be really cool.
another great video
I have one question. Which cables did you jump?
🤜 Thanks for the help bro 🤘
Do you have a link for the right angle driver? Thank you for the videos. Always great !
Where did you get that little right angle drill attachment I have see a few types but not like that one.
👊 good one Zack 👍
I do enjoy your videos. But one comment is I was taught never suck on pressure switch because they work under such a low pressure way under 1 PSI. That will damage the switch. Just my thoughts. Thanks again

Thank you for this 🤙❄️🔥😁
👊🏼 gracias por tus videos, thanks for your videos
Where do you find the high limit switch on this same exact unit ??
