    I enjoyed watching this. Just got into hunting these last 3 years and just now got into bow hunting a couple weeks and bought a compound bow. I'm working hard to do my research on setups, archery equipment, public land places, scouting methods, treestand setups. By far this seems like the most efficient method for my style. I'll be hunting public land for whitetail 95% of the time and I need something lightweight and easy to setup. How much would the saddle hunting setup cost me? I already have all my pack accessories I'm just missing the saddle gear and tree steps

    Dude you need to invest in a GPS backtracker from Bushnell... flag a spot on the GPS such as where you parked your truck or that awesome hunting spot no one knows about.. walk back to that same spot from anywhere.. no need to leave orange markers so other hunters can find where your hunting at.. i don't go in the woods without mine.. 8 years and counting... still works well... dude its truly a game changer.. best investment ever!

      Good idea. I use my phone (On X maps) but I like the little reflectors too. Keep in mind the reflectors aren't permanent. They get clipped to a tree when I walk by, then taken down a few hours later when I walk back out.

    I think you've convinced me to pick up a saddle. I have an XOP hand climber but have never gotten comfortable climbing with it. It's a relatively light stand but I'd like to be even more mobile. Do you have a video on making the accessory strap? I've wondered where you hung your bow if you can't screw in a hanger. Seems like a good system.

    I know you use the muddy sticks as well. Or at least you have were you just strapping those to your pack ? Also you like ladder sticks from what I hear are you still using them as sets? What has been your most effective means of climbing? My platform is finally coming, getting this all set up has taken time, I still want to get the ring of steps, as well. Thanks for the videos keep the brain thinking of new ways to get into the woods without a treestand

    • @G2Outdoors
      @G2Outdoors  2 года назад +1

      It's a process. The exercise that helped me the most was laying out all the gear I would typically take with me. Then I thought about each item and how much I used it on an average hunt. If the item wasn't absolutely required...I put it away. I found that most items were based on unrealistic fears: food, water, emergency devices, and other items that are simply unnecessary for a 4 hour hunt and less than 1 mile from a road. Try that first and see if you make any progress. Report back with your results.

    Another great video Greg! Are you using a hydration bladder or water bottles for the Georgia heat? I was using bottles last year but I think they are too noisy so Im switching to a bladder. Right now my starter set up is a cheap game winner pack from Academy with hydration bladder, WE steps in main compartment, and I use Nite Ize to attach Predator Platform to top loop of back pack on the outside. I gotta love this set up. It is so much quieter, lighter, less cumbersome than the Summit climber I used last year.
