I've enabled a quarantine for comments on this video because I'm not cool with the rampant racist comments that have been running about. If you want to comment something positive, feel free. If you want to air your racist laundry, go do it someplace else.
And for the record, I'm really overwhelmed by the encouraging and positive notes from everyone who has had something positive to say. I really appreciate you.

Cory I don't know what to say. To be honest I feel embarrassed that my country makes it so hard for ordinary decent people to come here to live. It is not so long ago since many Irish people were forced to leave Ireland and at the time America and other countries welcomed them with open arms. I wish the world was still like that. You are a good man and you have a lovely family and I hope this all works out for you. Please find a way to come back.

Terribly sad and frustrating. Keep the faith, Cory. I think the “going public” idea is a very good one. Share your story with Joe Duffy or Irish Central. In sharing your experience of the culture, lifestyle, sights and sounds etc, you have been a tremendous advocate for Ireland. - we appreciate you.

Cory, have you contacted your local TD's? They're members of government and can appeal on your behalf and may be able to swing it so you can apply for the correct visa while still here especially considering school starts again in September and leaving would negatively impact your kids.
Ireland will be a sadder place the day you and your beautiful family get on that plane.

  • @MrBroken20

    This is total nonsense .
If it's the departments fault and you can prove it you should go public . I'm positive people would back you.
Try Joe duffy on rte radio
I had somewhat similar visa troubles with US many years ago and know how stressful it can be.
    Best of luck

This reminds me of a passage in Luke..
Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” - Luke 9:58
You are doing the Lord's work that blesses people, and that brings challenge physically and emotionally... I know there's nothing people say can make it any easier, but I believe you will be blessed for your sacrifice and commitment.

So sorry to hear this Cory. This country is a disgrace when it comes to bureaucracy and stuff like this. I hope you can somehow find a way to fight this but if not, I hope it doesn't sour your feelings of Ireland.

    Hi Cory,
OMW thats such awful news! 💔😥 I can just cry for you guys!
Can you guys not claim EU treaty rights? It will allow you and your wife to work and live here! I'm so so incredibly Sorry that you guys have to leave.
We have been following your journey since the start of you guys arriving here in Ireland. All the emotions and the ups and downs of restarting a life here.... to go through all that to have to leave again! Talk about shattered Hopes!
Thinking of you guys and praying for the best... the girls are resilient and strong and this will soon all work out for the best! Keep working at it... nothing worth it is easy to get.
Stay strong Cory... you guys are meant to be here 🤗❤

    • @kengeary

    • @altheagreybe5537
      @altheagreybe5537 5 лет назад +1

@@kengeary actually I'm busy exercising them in Ireland myself with my family and having been successful in obtaining our residency permits etc. My advice and knowledge of the EU treaty rights is sound. If you have been following Cory's story, you would have known that his wife is from or grew up in Austria which is part of the EU and her parents currently reside in Austria... so I'm under the assumption that she carries an EU passport thus enabling them to live and work in any EU country under EU treaty rights other than the land of where the EU passport holder obtained their passport but thank you for your response!

    That's really sucky news.
We just came back from holiday in Austria ourselves a few days ago. It's crazy, we moved to Ireland 6 months after you all did. Living in a country you weren't born in and calling that home, living in Ireland, your experiences are so relatable. It's surreal because Austria was a place that we could have lived, but Ireland was just like welcome and we adapted to here and we can't imagine how it feels.
Back when my wife and I were dating, finished university in the UK and wondering if we'll have to go back to our home countries and never see each other again, I told her in a year we'll probably look back at this and think, that is no longer a problem. We left for Austria. We spent enough time there so get to plan what to do next.
That was 4 years ago. We did it, still together. Definitely, believe that you'll be back again. I hope living in Austria for a bit will be a time to step back and plan how you get back on the path like it was for us.
