  • Ireland Immigration has refused all of our applications and appeals for the last year and a half, and we've finally decided to stop fighting for now. We don't agree with their reasoning, and we could fight the decision, but we've decided to call it.
    We're not done with our journey though, and if you're interested in following along, I'd love to have you. Thanks for your support across the years.

    Blame Senator Tom Cotton for blocking E3 Visa bill that would have made it easier for Americans to move to Ireland and Irish to move to America.

    I responded earlier but later today I was listening to this song and your family came to mind. Thought I would share it with you. It’s called “New Song” by Jason Gray/Blanca. I know they have it here on RUclips. I went to Ireland in 2019 and felt the same way about it. I can’t imagine what your going through after living there. Please know your being prayed for! Many, many blessings ahead! 🙏

    I follow your channel since I was an exchange student during High School in America, and you simply don't know how much you helped me by sharing all your immigration experiences. It's the first time I'm actually writing a comment on your RUclips videos (actually I don't write any comment at all). I knew your channel through my deepest love for Ireland (same love that I know, deep down, that you feel as well), and since then I had the opportunity to be motivated by your journey, and started to create such a positive feeling... a feeling sort of being friend and cheerful for your family. I'm from Brazil and I'm looking forward to moving to Ireland, and the reason I'm telling you all this is: don't give up, cheer up dude! I mean try Vienna, sure, Austria is a beautiful country and should definitely be considered a second option, but no matter what, keep up with the Ireland, in the meantime whenever you should be living, try to apply as properly as you can and with all the good energies you and your family already have. I wish someday we take a pint, an imperial Stout in an Irish bar and have a talk. A proper Guinness with you must be awesome. Just felt I should let you know you have other people you can count with. Count on me if you need anything man. My regards from Brazil!

    God does what God does, and stops what he wants. If it were meant to be, then it would have happened. We can't worry about things like that. I have had countless things shut down that seemed to make the most sense in the world at the time, and some of those I may never understand why it fell apart, but I totally understand what you mean. I hope that Vienna works out for you guys, and we pray that things go well for you all.

    We were just thinking about how your progress was going last weekend. Completely sucks that you won't be back in Ireland. We're a bit biased but Wien would be our next choice to live in Europe after Ireland too. Vienna was our first choice to move before Dublin, but to us it was easier to get work in Dublin having just graduated university.
    Sucks, but we wish you and the family the best of luck!

    Hi Cory, sorry to hear about your visa nightmare with Ireland. My wife and I had a 4 year battle to bring our daughters into the UK with 2 court appearances so I know the pain and helplessness it can bring you. You mentioned Austria there so I don't know if your wife is Austrian but if she is then the EU has the concept of Freedom of Movement for residents of the EU. One of our immigration advisers suggested if I moved to another EU country for a period of 6 months then I could apply to take the family back into the UK on an EU permit instead of apply for a UK family visa. It became so common its called the Surinder Singh route into the UK. Maybe there is something similar for Ireland? Don't give up hope.

    Hello I'm from Ireland and I'm living in Illinois not too far from Wheaton. I just found your Channel I'm sorry to hear you can't get back there I'll have to watch a few more of your videos to understand your journey. I've been living in the Chicago area for about 30 years but I think I want to move back to Ireland over the next couple of years. I think you said your wife was from Austria I thought that would automatically qualify you for European citizenship but maybe I misunderstood.

      In short she's an American who was born in Austria, and Austria doesn't give out dual citizenship typically. So it didn't work out that way. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the update and I can't believe those were the reasons they denied your application. Sad to hear Irish common sense did not prevail but totally understand why you are not pursuing the courts. While I think you would be successful, it's another long period to have to put your life on hold and the expense financially if it did fail is not worth it. Honestly red tape is a joke and it goes to show you that genuine cases are unfairly rejected. You are probably all too familiar with the saying that when a door shuts, a window opens so glad to hear that Austria will hopefully be the next step in the future. The girls are getting so big and it's family that's most important in the end.

    I'm from Dublin Cory, your visa in Ireland was quite niche, you must have considered applying for a more regular work visa maybe with one of the American companies based in Dublin there are tonnes of them, with your experience you would be in with a good chance of securing a job offer, so what's holding you back, maybe you're not prepared to let go of your US based job/income, not sure why I'm a bit puzzled to be honest.

    • @VicenteGarrido
      @VicenteGarrido 3 года назад

      Cory, I agree with Thomas. I know the situation is hard but why don't you consider applying to an Employment visa? They're requiring LOTS of software developers and probably they would be receptive to give you the visa in this new applying condition.

    • @corydhmiller

      Long story short, I really like my current job and I'm not ready to move on from it yet. Possible employment in Ireland is certainly an option in the long run, but we're not ready for that right now.
