Coincidentally our flight to Austria also got cancelled (3 times!) from Dublin, but we luckily got a Ryanair (Laudamotion) flight and finally got to visit Austria again.
A possible reason why your visa application for Irish residency was refused is Irish people's historic memory of 'souperism'. If you don't understand the term Google it.
