    Hello Connor,
I'm a resident of Myanmar, and I'd love to show you around when you visit our country next time! I'm a frequent viewer of your videos and have thoroughly enjoyed your Myanmar series. It was heartening to see you meet someone fluent in English because, unfortunately, not many people here speak the language fluently.
It's quite saddening to see the problems you had to go through that weren't a thing before the military takeover. Myanmar used to be on par with popular tourist destinations like Phuket, Bangkok, and the Philippines. We even had better tourist infrastructure compared to some other ASEAN nations.
If you ever decide to return to Myanmar, I can help ensure that everything goes smoothly and show you the real hidden gems of our country!

I went there to Pagan in 1995. We arrived by steamer on the banks of the Irrawaddy. The country only just opened it's doors to foreign independant travellers. I was so rare in their eyes, they were touching my skin. I was a single white female, 30 years old. For a week I hired a pushbike and toured the temples in the blazing sun. No one was there.
Good to see there's still no one around.

@@SmallBrainedAmericanIt changed in between actually. It was blooming with tourists and you will find hot air balloons in the sky and all. We had hotels, restaurants, and many local businesses opened as well. But we had some nature disasters including earthquakes which destroyed many pagodas. Bagan doesn’t have budget to renovate and maintain, that’s why it looks abandoned. And now the military seized the country and things got worse. Absolutely shut down tourism.

It's quite a coincidence that I come across this video just a month before I have to go Bagan. Actually, me, my wife and my sister-in-law will go visit Bagan from November 9th through 12th.

If there’s one thing I learned about Myanmar is that the People are so nice and friendly. They are also a handsome looking People.
Edit: now I see why the comments of not giving the Woman guide some money. She is a guide, very sweet and treated you nice. I agree, as Luke Damont did with Dan, gave her some money.

I bet you will visit to her again when you go to Myanmar next time. Hope this country is free again and tourist infrastructure will be developing in the near future. Decent people will never be in trouble for long time.

There are lots of pagoda in Bagan because when it is the ancient time, the kings of Myanmar Buddhism and built pagodas as much as possible. One of the most famous pagoda in Bagan was actually built by the most talented builders and if there was a space between the walls, the king will cut their hands or kill them.

Took me to a country I have always been interested in but will never visit, so thank you. What struck me about that village / settlement was the absence of any men.

@@toiletpaper55 I just see that he is a bit disrespectful. He kept cursing and we don't actually like it when you say swear words in the temples.

I lived in Myanmar and my parents told me when we were on a trip that there were still sprits of the people who built it and thats the reason why most temples are abandoned
