Kind of funny I ran across this... April has been chosen as the "resident expert" on Tim Allen and Richard Karn's new show "Assembly Required". If you haven't checked out her channel, you really should. She's really fun to watch. Also, good to see another Springfieldian on here. I own All About Paint in Springfield, MO. We do interior residential painting. Great video, btw.
april does some good stuff...the only thing i question is, that is an awful lot of work to raise the fence a few inches....but , she does do good work and if a contractor did this work I could imagine all the extra costs with labor etc for just lengthening the posts.....i raised a metal fence a few yrs ago and had these extensions that pounded into the lower post...i could have welded them but they were pretty solid into the lower part so I left them....i bought some galvinized colored spray paint but since the lower posts were older the color match wasn't good so I just left them the way they were....the was 8 yrs ago and they are doing just fine...i am sure her finished project will look great
Worked in the oilfield in Southern Illinois nearly 50 yrs. A high percentage of used oilfield pipe and sucker rods are radioactive! They routinely Geiger it all as you enter the salvage yard with it. Much of it is rejected.
i'm the foreman on a framing crew i've watched a few of april's videos there are very few things i can fault her for nice to hear someone doesn't want videos just to take down someones work
One thing that I do, and I don't see a lot of fence builders doing it, is use 16' material and having a lap at each level. I've got one that is 18 years old, and still has zero droop. The other neighbors all have the standard 8' lumber and spacing, some have had to rebuild multiple times. It will make it a little difficult to remove one panel between poles, but I've never had to since it was installed.
3.5 odd size posts?that's all we use for any commercial job as terminals..and we get majority of it from the states.. I wonder why she didn't remove wood fence before doing extensions.?? instead of cutting fence twice to weld both sides..woulda been better access for welding as well..
Here is a $$ tip. I place an ad in Craig's List for free vintage wood and people will come and haul it away for you for free. People are crazy for old worn and weathered wood so save yourself a trip to the dump. I have gotten rid of tons of material that way. In fact I had customers pay me to remove a fence and another a deck and I just placed an ad on Craig's List and people came over and got the lumber for free. I made $ 500 that way for removing an old redwood deck and $ 500 for removing an old fence and all I did was supervise the removal. You just have to post a photo and then be very selective about who you choose to do the picking up and hauling off making sure they can get it all.
welding pipe with no bevel and just setting the pipe on top with no gap. what is this? I know nothing is in the pipe or any pressure inside but it pains me to watch.
I watched AW for a while until it became apparent that she has an unlimited budget for everything. Dad's or Hubby's money to an OCD girl with a camera, lost its luster for me. If she was interested in flying, she would just go out and buy a jet to make videos in. She does have gumption but anyone could do what she does with her money and time to research.
Joe, its really nice to hear your commentary on April's work. It really gives a comprehensive view of a project like this. Thanks!
Well now I’m a fan of fence installation commentary! Looking forward to parts 2 and 3.
Guys this is great! Great informative video and a positive spin on react videos. Love it!

April is a real badass. I love her channel
@@JoeEverest yessir I found her during a period when I was obsessed with saw mills😂 ⚙️
April is self-taught. She doea everything from this to shed building and anything else she feels like.
@@JoeEverest she's great. And cute as a button too.
She's more like a tellsell commercial.

Agreed..with staggered jounts

Interesting! Terminal posts for commercial projects here in the states are typically 2-7/8”, 4” or 6-5/8”. I appreciate the feedback!
The 3.5" post is probably 3.5 CDS, Electrical conduit pipe.

3 1/2 is ridged conduit
At least the first application before construction!
I hit the like button before I even watched the video. How about that?
the magnets assure the extension and the post share the same 'longitudal axis' $8000 patent lawyer jargon...
I would of wet the wood in welding school told dont weld near something that can catch fire or on cement
What the point of your channel seems as to narrate someone else work it’s obvious what she does if a person has knowledge

Her chainsaw safety is totally weak, maybe in addition to talking about a water hose talk about safety gear, hate to see someones leg get hacked up.

She all smoke and mirrors
