@@Jil8840 F1 does not like to take Indycar drivers. Usually when they do get a shot it's usually with a poor team and then they go "See! They aren't good drivers!", even though Montoya and Villeneuve exist. He did have a test though, don't think it was for a good team. He decided to stay with the great ride and income he had going.
@@xtlm It was for Williams in 2004. That was a good team. His issue was that they only offered him a test driver role and he wanted to race, which is you know, fair enough on both sides, WIlliams had no reason to drop either JPM or Ralf after 2003 and Dixon was right to think he's too good to rot away in a test role.
@@xtlm this is y i think f1 isn’t a league for drivers to go to cos it all depends on the car’s engineering performance more than the the driver’s skill even will power said the racing in f1 isn’t as good as in indycar cos there’s always team donination & repetition, plus less overtaking cos there’s always a team w/ the best car wins & i had red bull fans bash against me for saying ‘redbull has the fastest car in 2022 & 2023’ even f1 officials & media say redbull has the fastest car rn
Apologies for the late post. WOW!!! What a race!!! Oval racing is cool!!! As race fans, we see the beauty of speed and skill our INDYCAR drivers showcasing. Felt bad for Newgarden. He would have been the “Ovalmeister”, but when the marbles grabbed his car, it was over. Congratulations to Scott Dixon!!! Back to back wins in 2023!!! The elder statesman of INDYCAR still has it!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Next up, the penultimate round in Portland, Oregon, on the West Coast!!! 🏁🏁🏁
@@tommymonday5665 Also new to Indy. The raod and Street circuits are full to the rafters, but Ovals seem empty. Even the Indy 500 was not full which I find strange for such a classic race.
@@cococalm BS, the Indy 500 had like 320k spectators just for the race, even more if you count the whole month. And the other ovals except Texas pull about as much people as most road courses, you just see empty stands cause the stands at these tracks are that huge.
@@TheFantomsLair My my my !!! Sensitive !! Indeed, I saw empty stands, I was not asking how many seats were actually paid for. It just seems strange that there are seats, even complete stands, empty for big events like these, even the Indy 500. You say BS, I was just asking a question. No need to get your knickers in a knot.
The main grandstand holds at least 40,000. I bought tickets the day before and there wasn't much left to choose from at all. They've never opened the 2nd grandstand for Indycar which holds an additional 17,000. Ticket choices were for main grandstand only. The NASCAR Cup Series sold out both grandstands 2 years in a row now. The Indy 500 was sold out at 235,000 and is only a 4 hour drive away from this track. Indy is the guiness book record holder for the most capacity of any facility in the world. It just depends on the market your in as to how many seats get sold. 40,000 for Indycar is considered a huge success at this track. NHRA always sells out at this track. There's a lot more Indycar fans in St. Louis than what the ticket sales show. It's kinda strange how it all works out. LOL
What Newgarden did is fine, but right on the edge. But the problem with constantly being right on the edge with these like he often is is sooner or later he'll get it slightly wrong and take somebody/himself out.
I didn't realise Chip Ganassi had Pat Symonds and Flavio Briatore calling their race strategy. Wow that was convenient timing wasn't it?? Where's my tin foil hat?
That's the catch 22. I agree Indy on ovals is not exciting because the style of racing you can't bang like nascar which makes nascar oval more exciting. Indy history is mixed with oval which makes it unique but please ignore ppl that think they should add more to the schedule...they don't have a pulse on the industry
There is a “Dixon” in all our lives. No matter who you are, where you live, what you do, he is always there, dixon, being dixon.
Dixon giving a driving lesson. How to be disciplined for an entire race.
Palou should be scared, for second race in the row Dixon drive is like "WHAT?!". What a legend.
A clinic by Scott Dixon, this guy never fails to give 110% in every race. The GOAT of Indycar & always remember "You can't out Dixon, Dixon"
Thats why Dixon is the IndyCar GOAT.
and out of nowhere dixon wins and becomes a championship contender, doesn't get more classic dixon than this. legend
How come he never went to F1......!!!! It's kind of obsurd!!!!

What a drive and what a race. You have to be inspired by this man. Big congrats to Scott on the win.👍👍👍

Gotta hand it to Scott Dixon what a win 22 seconds ahead of the 2nd place
What's with neither highlights video making no reference at all to the Sato-Illot incident and Illot's retirement from the race?
Thank you for posting this race! 🙏
🦂🍻
The pit reporter has no insider information. “Tires on tires off added gas and they are off!” Yes I know I can see that.
Kongrats Scott Dixon "2023 Indycar series!
'Chip steer's the ship' .. and Dixon steer's the car.
so we have Linus, Rinus and all we need now is Pinus!!!
If Dixon wins the championship after everything we saw from Álex Palou at the beginning, I'm sure he's one of the greatest drivers in history.
Pato and Newgarden always have a plus in the Ovals they always stand out from the rest
Scott Dixon is simply dominant at Gateway like in Marc Marquez back in Germany 2019.
The precious fuel, mr economy does it again. 55 wins, another 10 or so and he be up there with Aj Foyt.
scott dixon is the man 🙌
I thought it very cool to see Howdy Holmes in the victory lane group!
11:49 ayo, your wheel fell off. The tire changer tried to tell them.....
Hey the US feed did have the tire indicators working. why no the international feed?
Pato raced fair and kept getting pinballed by josef.....
This just makes me miss CART series.
Andretti, Franchitti, Montoya, Fittipaldi, Tracy, Brack, Kannan, Unser jr and many more, real super star racers imo yeah i miss that series too.
What about the IRL?
Am I seeing this right ?? There are only 2 grand stands and only one is full. Does Indy Series have trouble to filling the venues with spectators ??
I'm new to Indy but have noticed that the crowds are way smaller at the ovals, tho the purest seem to love them

Give Malukas a better team
gears grinding
Happy to see that prick Newgarden hit the wall after his dangerous blocking and weaving on Pato. Scott Dixon and Mike Hull create another masterclass.
What Newgarden did is fine, but right on the edge. But the problem with constantly being right on the edge with these like he often is is sooner or later he'll get it slightly wrong and take somebody/himself out.
This was like the one and only time I've wanted Newgarden to win because the ovel sweep would have been such a cool stat, and he chokes
Funny business going on
Looks like holding brakes

oh my, what if they told sato to crash
He really was not driving like himself.........
Indycar on ovals is the most boring thing ever
Still better than Nascar or F1 combined

False. They need to go back to a Saturday night race.
