I have been struggling with what substrate to use to start my T-shirt business. I have a 15 X15 heat press. A cricut machine, 3 embroidery machines and an Epson 2720 printer that I converted to a sublimation printer.
    I have completed t shirts using sublimation and HTV but was struggling with " how would I get orders out quickly, cost effective and have great quality. You did a great job explaining. Once again thank you....

    Oh my gosh I love you! You are so thorough. Which I appreciate! My question and I’m only about halfway through so you might be getting to it is what about if you ordered your design and all you need is a heat press to attach the design to the T-shirt

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  2 года назад

      Yes if you are ordering transfers and not printing or cutting anything then you will just really need a heat press :)

    This was such a great video that I wish I had seen BEFORE I purchased my Sawgrass sg500. It's a magnificent sublimation printer BUT I didn't realize how expensive the ink was. It's $300+ for all four cartridges. That's more than half the cost of the printer 🤦🏽‍♀️. But I have it now and love the quality. However, it was a very expensive learning experience.

    People keep saying the hp inkjets won’t heat transfer but I literally watched someone print out heat transfer paper out of a hp inkjet and then put it in a t-shirt, it probably isn’t ideal but you can do it. But everywhere else you look people say no you can’t do it.

      Hey there, you can get printable heat transfers. Check it out here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/03/how-to-use-starcraft-inkjet-printable.html But it isn't going to have the same longevity as a toner or ecosolvent ink.

    Great video! Lots of detail. I'm having a hard time finding the answer to one question and am hoping you can help me out. I'm going to be using an e-commerce site and it says to "upload pictures". I'm not printing out all of the 60 designs I have but need a static way to display them so I can upload them onto my product page. What do you use to show your products? Since these are T-shirts everyone is saying use a mock-up service like Mockup Generator or Placeit but I just wanted a simple picture of a T-shirt that I can put my sayings on. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!!

    • @bjsbabi
      @bjsbabi 2 года назад

      I bought your book but it doesn't mention how to display your products except by taking photos of them. Again, since I have over 60 designs and would like them to look consistent, I was hoping you could help me with how to display them without having to print 60 different shirts. I appreciate any help you can provide.

    Melissa, I have started whoop, whoop...I am trying to add pictures for advertising so that the design is exactly what the customer will get. My problem is that the silohoutte studio doesn't have an "opacity" setting. This setting would be to -blend- the quote or pic into the t-shirt so that it doesn't look like I laid it on top of the shirt. I have used several other apps for this but DO YOU KNOW HOW I WOULD DO THIS ON SILOHOUETTE STUDIO...yes I have Business Edition.

    hi again. I commented a few days ago about this video ... but wanted to ask a question. I left this video thinking a white toner printer would be awesome, but wow so expensive. Well I saw something about a Mini Ghost printer for less than $800. However I am guessing that is Euro and is made maybe in Belgium. But I am in the US. I don't see it available here. Are you familiar with those printers? Do you know where they might be sold in the US?
    thank you as always for the great information!

    • @olivia8979
      @olivia8979 3 года назад +1

      this is all quite confusing :) It looks like some Ghost printers are branded Ghost, but there are also Cannon and HP printers that can use ghost white toner. But I have many questions. I am going to email Ghost and ask.

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  3 года назад

      I am not familiar with that that one so unfortunately can't provide much info.

    • @olivia8979
      @olivia8979 3 года назад +1

      @@SilhouetteSchool From what I gather, one can buy certain HP and Canon color laser printers for about $250, buy white toner from Ghost and have a much less expensive white toner printer (i can't say if it would have all the same capabilities as the printer you have). And some printers can use a toner that ghost makes called sublime which allows them to make sublimation prints. So one device can be your day to day printer, your white toner printer, and your sublimation printer. Sounds like start up costs for all that might be in the neighborhood of $600. The Ghost company is in Belgium. I think one would buy the printer locally or online and then may need to purchase the specialty toner from Ghost in Europe.
      I thought you might be interested in what I found. I am still thinking about it. It is still expensive since I am really primarily interested as a hobbyest and not sure if I would try to sell tshirts.
