  • Are you wondering how to start a t-shirt business? Are you looking for a creative business with a big revenue potential? How does $500K/year sound? That’s a very doable figure for a t-shirt business, and in this interview we’ll find out how.
    Sanford Booth started his t shirt printing company after the 2008 recession brought his real estate career to a halt. He saw a franchise opportunity from Big Frog and knew the company would be a good fit for his hometown of Portland.
    They built a name for themselves partnering with area charities, clubs, and schools. That mutual love between Big Frog and the community has been a huge part of their success.
    Today, we’ll get Sanford’s advice on how to start a t-shirt business. He’ll share how much it cost him to get started and what equipment is a must-have for a custom t shirt business. We’ll talk numbers, too, finding out what kind of margins and revenue a new business can expect in their first year (and how to grow it every year that follows).
    You can’t run a successful business without customers. We’ll find out how Sanford got Big Frog’s name out there when he first opened his t-shirt business and which advertising approaches have given him the best return on his investment.
    Keeping those customers satisfied is crucial, too, especially in 2020 when every sale counts. We’ll learn Sanford’s approach to keeping people coming back and his advice to other business owners on getting through a crisis.
    If you’ve ever considered starting a t shirt company this video is a must-watch! You can find out more about Big Frog Portland at their website, www.bigfrog.com/pdx/.

      Varies for everyone. I've seen people able to quit their full-time jobs after just 1-2 years, but it takes a lot of work (like most things). Smart marketing and utilizing social media and e-commerce platforms is the difference maker. Many people just don't make it because they don't know how to use all the tools available to them.

    I would have kept the $45k franchise fee and done it on my own.....use some of that money for a digital and social media marketers. Spend MUCH less. McDonald's charges about $45k franchise fee, this is a company most people have NOT heard off???. He said he took about 4 or 5 years before he is making the money he is making now? Way too long. The franchise sucked the profit out of him, you pay a franchise fee to get immediate business,. Sucker franchise, educate yourself with some RUclips videos and online articles, and do it yourself and keep your $45 k.

      Because 99.99999% of people won’t put in action. Like many will think of opening a t shirt shop at this moment. But who will really do it? The next day you probably even forget what you’ve watched on RUclips.

    • @ninja_tony
      @ninja_tony Год назад +1

      @@tastychicken3966 That's true, and also, even out of those that do, most will fail. I've been in the business for well over 15 years, I've seen a lot of people come and go. I also know even those that ARE successful will have many failures of their own, it's just the nature of the business. It's a totally viable business, but it's also not an easy one to actually thrive in. Most people won't have the stomach for it in the long term.
      Also, most people just don't have the creativity or business knowledge to make it work either, and you really need at least a decent amount of both to make it a long term success. You can pay someone to do designs for you, or you can pay someone to manage the business side of things, but at the end of the day, if you don't at least have a base understanding of how to make it all work, you won't last.
      And I'm not saying that to discourage anyone, but if someone wants to be in this business, they need to understand it's cutthroat, there's tons of saturation and competition, and you can't just slap some designs on a shirt and expect people to buy it, because it just doesn't work that way! To anyone that does stick it out and push through, anyone that really wants it, good luck! It's always nice to see others succeed in this business.
