This is the owner of the rig, thanks Greg for all the work you did and reaching out to intel. The new system booted right up when I replaced the CPU, intel gave a full refund and was able to get the same CPU cheaper on Newegg. I also was able to get a 4090 at retail price so all is good now!

Fun fact: Asus tells you what bios is flashed on the board. The last four numbers that follow the serialnumber (sticker between ram slots and cpu socket usually) represent the biosversion currently running on the board. Through the support page you can find out if the biosversion supports the cpu you want to use.

I've watched pretty much every episode of FOF from the very beggining and i will continue cause 1 like that you're helping people and 2 as someone whos not afraid to take apart my pc considering i built it. This playlist gives me knowledge of potential issue i may run into in the future or just trying to help someone else out. I helped a streamer out who did a platform switch and she built the pc and the first thing she said was that the pc didnt power on. The first thing i suggested was did she plug the front panel headers in and sure enough she didnt and the pc booted right up lol. So its just funny how sometimes its the smallest issue.

Greg, something you might want to mention in future videos. When the computer is powered on for the first time it can up to 90 seconds for a POST as the BIOS needs to be trained while it determines the CPU and RAM.
I know in this case it was never going to POST as the BIOS was out of date relative to the CPU generation. I have seen some people think their computers are bricked because they did not wait long enough for the BIOS to sort it's self out.

That's crazy, I thought I was looking at my rig that got into a barfight or something. I have the EXACT same case and z690 motherboard, except I have a MSI gaming trio 4090, and 12900K, with Corsair Vengeance d5 32gb 6000m/t cl36 and a Deepcool LS720 360mm aio with an MSI A1000G PCIE5 psu. I did have an Asus Tuf 4090 which looked better in my build, but I had to return it because the coil whine in that card was absolutely insane. Would have grabbed another non oc Tuf for 1600 at microcenter but of course they were sold out. Was pleasantly surprised with the Gaming trio. Runs super cool and quiet and absolutely zero coil whine. Love it. Power limit sucks but I power limit at 85% anyways. The Lancool II mesh is one of the best cases i've ever owned. Great video Greg.
Edit: nevermind. I see he has the Lancool III mesh, not the II. Which is a bit better actually

Once you had the front panel plugged in correctly and then saw everything else just points back to my complaint about boards no longer having the speaker or an LED code display. Lots of beep or alpha codes told me what the problem was back in the day.

Gotta use that motherboard manual when building a pc. Its the most important read when building. The diagrams alone are invaluable.

Hey Greg we love your stuff regardless honestly though audio sounds like you got a element cable going out or a bad ground issues somewhere

Great video audio was not bad at all :) . Also I really wished u gave him a 12900k since it performs about the same as the 13700k . And once he gets his rma he can give u back the cpu. It’s just really sad having a dead pc just sitting there waiting :( . But great video at least we know the problem 😊

Didn't hear the sound you were talking about at the beginning over the video. It was clear the whole video from my TV I guess buying a expensive TV paid off lol

That's one thing I still don't like about building still - all the weird little cables for the case and fans, etc. The big stuff is easy, but the little ones are sometimes confusing.

Greg - I always record secondary audio through an independent device (Tascam audio recorder). This allows me to have two audio sources, and there have been instances in which one failed or corrupted. Not much help now, but that's what I do.
