I don't understand why someone would not appreciate a do it yourself build. This is a great video! I love what you have done and how it works for your lifestyle.
I'm old enough to be your Grandfather 75 years ,and I have only massive respect for the amount of effort that you have put into learning about life and the effort you have put into learning how to be happy & content...
I’m 60 and I completely agree! Couldn’t have said it better! ❤ I will add that “yes” that was SO Wisconsin 😂😂 Having my Mom, Stepdad, Sister and her husband & 5 kids (4 now grown and all there) Tho your accent is gone. My Sis sounds like the lady on Fargo 😂 and the mom on Bobby’s world lol ❤Love WI ❤
@@jenniferd264 I’ve just retired and been doing van life for the past year. I built my own interior of the van though it’s not as good as linnea’s. If it’s what you would love to do just do it. It’s been my dream for years.
I have been watching you for years but for some reason this was one of my favorite videos! The Joy, pride & genuine enthusiasm you express when describing all of the unique little things you've done to your van honestly brought tears to my eyes. I'm so proud of all you've accomplished!! 🙏💯❤
Hi! random question but i am just wondering why they have a van and a bus they heat? You have been watching for a long time so thought i would ask! Thanks!
Had to rewatch your videos , I so love your life style! I will be 75 at the end of December. You keep up your travels, and yes the videos as well! Thank you my dear friend ❤
Linnea, you are such an amazing human to keep yourself going on the road with all your knowledge but building your own home must be so such a feeling of accomplishment. I sure wouldn’t know where to start. I’m really proud of you !!! 🌞🕯🤟🏽
Hi, just come across your channel showing your alterations, what an inspiration you are, so clever to teach yourself everything and then build it yourself, that is so good. I really enjoyed listening to you explain everything, also how caring you are to make sure Akela was comfortable too, with coats and boots, you don't see that very often 😊 Well done with everything you have done so far. 😊 👍
Linnea, I’m sure you know but did you see you have a water leak by your sink, coming from your roof? Noticed it while you were talking about the wood stove. Have loved watching you since the beginning. Stay safe ❤️
I am thrilled with your large freezer. If we can ever put together a van forvtravel, it makes more sense to have a large freezer (food and ice packs), and a cooler or 2 (perhaps standing cooler on its end so lid opens like a door!) Freezers keep foid cold a LONG time even without power if unopened. Freezers mean more time avoiding stores (frozen vegs, meat, fruits etc.) Love your little wood stove .. so charming! Thank you.
I'm a 34 year old woman and I could never build out a van myself. Massive respect to your dedication and skills!!!! You are woman and girl I hear you ROAR!!!! 👏🏻💪🏻😘
You are the most well rounded young woman I have ever listened to! You’re an inspiration and to hear/see/feel your gratefulness for all that be makes this old lady hopeful for the future of humanity❤ Never lose yourself, you are amazing! What a lucky guy your bf is! Stay free!
I am genuinely impressed, and honestly, that's kind of hard to do. I'm a bit older than you, probably about twice your age, and women were just not taught how to do these things. I was fortunate to have studied architecture in college, and my first husband was, and still is, a residential contractor, and he taught me all the basics of carpentry, plumbing, and general home repair. Over the past 30+ years, I've expanded my skill set to include more advanced techniques, and added a little engine mechanics as well, learning from Google, RUclips and just figuring it out. I'm not able to change my own oil like you, mostly because of my age and health conditions that won't allow me to get up under my vehicle. And learning about solar, and AC to DC, and watts, volts and amp conversions, was definitely a challenge, but like you said, with enough drive and willingness to challenge yourself to "figure it out", you can do anything. It's NEVER too late to learn and new skill, and I truly love adding new skills to my old ones. It was truly a PLEASURE to see a woman that accepted the challenge of doing it herself, and might I add, succeeded BEAUTIFULLY in creating an amazing, cozy and comfortable home.
I'm a 22 yo student and lining in a camper/van would be a dream for me. But I come from nothing lol. I don't have my driver license yet and I'm used to confort from rental appartments, so it would change a lot, but I believe that I will be able to do it. It will take a lot of confidence and assertivity (because society is not used to this lifestyle, and I would like to have a regular job), but I love the idea to travel with your home, and to make my own stuff. It's cheaper than renting and me and my cat would be really happy. I just have to not give up and continue to believe in this dream until I graduate from college. Thank you so much for inspiring me, I'm really happy to see people able to live their dreamlife on wheels, even tought it must not be easy everyday. My main concern is shower and weather insulation for winter
love the thought process & explanation of practical justification of the advantages of simplicity over complexity, which most likely in the long term via durability, is more simple, cause simple simple!
Watched many DIY build videos and this was the most amazing. Don't overestimate the "perfection" with commercially manufactured builds. The bonus is, with having such intimate understanding of your build, it's easier to troubleshoot and deal with issues. Nicely done!
Of all the vans out there now yours is my fav! I’d build out one the same layout exactly as this version having had several different vehicle builds over the decades
Hi Linnea, We have just enjoyed watching you for our very first time, thank you very much, we will be watching more of your vlogs, Stay safe Marion & Glenn ( Yorkshire, England xx
Just a Fantastic video! Your explanation of your hands on experience over the past two years of your build is well choreographed, and your very well spoken.I’m not a “van lifer”, well yet 🤔. There is certainly a ton of inspiration here. Look forward to seeing more of your content 💪.
I’m also a diy mcgyver and a tradie of 30 years who loves living on the road. I have 💯 respect for what you have done, it’s beautifully you and all well put together including your video. Happy hunting and fishing. Living the best life.
I just found your channel. I am very impressed that you did your own build. I am in the process of building a short bus that will be totally off grid. I need to finish it and sell all my stuff including my property. As soon as it is all done I will hit the road wirh my dog. I used to drive semi over the road so I cant wait to do it on my own terms. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Linda...later will be "Wild & Free"
You're as impressive as Slow Roamer and your style is just as enjoyable as those with $300k vehicles. Huzzah! I don't think I've seen a -40 bag. Pls tell us the Make and Model? Your sentiments on DIY are spot on. I've brought that up to everyone asking for advice for the last 14 years.
I remember watching your swivel seat video some time ago and thought wow, she is a bad ass. FFWD to 2 days ago, I finally installed the same swivel seat...and it was the BEST DECISION EVER!!! I have a 159 ext only bc it was almost the same price as the 136 at the time of purchase. But I will downsize in the future. Cheers to learning new skills and FINALLY starting on my van build after letting my van sit for almost 2yrs untouched (I travel a lot with my job). Thanks for all of the content.
You definitely take a pioneer approach (as apposed to a prepacked deal). And it does have the ambience of a rustic cabin : It is a real get away from any brutal stoic modernity.
VERY COOL!! My daughter archery hunts as well and has taken several bull elk, and a bear with her bow. She rifle hunts deer because they aren't as exciting to have to get super close to in order to take the shot. Plus she is kind of into long range shooting as well (rifle of course) My husband (her father) is also an avid bow hunter etc. None of us fly fish tho, it honestly looks super fun to me. Not having to cast and just wait or whatever but constantly moving the pole and line, I really think I would enjoy fly fishing. Anyhow your van build is impressive! I wish I new how to do all of that, im obsessed with tiny homes. I only think I could live in one alone but not with another person. What I think would be most rewarding is building it. Ok ill shut up now. GREAT VIDEO!!
I love your home. The impercectionxare what makes it perfect and gives it so much character. It is cosy and warm, and to me, it is very inviting. Also, i love that you are very aware of nature and how she works, and the fact that you are not a wishy washy vegan but a meat eater. The fact that you hunt or fish for what you need. You do not hunt for sport ( or that is how you come across ,to me). You sow respect. Using a bow is the best and mych cleaner kill. What made you go with biw and arrows rather than a gun and bullets? You are a very strong, brave, independent woman, and i admire that. But the best thing about you is your realness and down to earth attitude. I am glad i came across your channel x
You're phenomenal. I'm in awe. When I grow up I'd like to emulate your drive, skill, attitude and intelligence. Oh wait. I'm already grown up. 😂 I'm 69. OK. This'll be my vicarious video. Now, safety: Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? Concerned because of the stove. I wish you all the best. You're a mentor and a marvel. Best dog, too.
Nice work! I don't view many videos as I get hugely annoyed by people selling themselves ...but I like your attitude and DIY work ethic. And as you're doing and living in the North country, fishing, hunting, it all makes for an inspiring story.
So glad you've memtioned a Freezer As when I go away I do a massive cook up and take enough Venison Stew to last me a month So I always want a big freezer and a tiny fridge So hard to find in the UK
I don't understand why someone would not appreciate a do it yourself build. This is a great video! I love what you have done and how it works for your lifestyle.

Sweet.

Glad to hear that, is my first video and I love it! reminds me when I build one of my vans during the pandemic

How you built and organized your van is absolutely genius! The fact that you did it yourself is over the top!
I look up to you so much. You’re so much younger than me and yet you’re so much stronger, braver and wiser.
