I have just bought a midi to lightning cable, my normal keyboard, has a midi lort so i assumed I could get the midi/light night cable so I could start recording in GarageBand or whatever… turns out it doesn’t work. The sound from my phone goes through the keyboard but the app does not recognise my actual real keyboard, if I press the keyboard in GarageBand the sound plays through my phone…. So I am guessing I have bought the wrong cable and this is what I should do instead? 😐

Is there any setting in Perfect Piano or Keyboard to stop key touch effect. because when I press the key little, the phone sounds a little too. but when I touched the keys harder , the phone sound louder too. There should be adapters from USB C male to 3,5mm Jack. Also some which also have 3,5mm Jack and USB C female to USB C male. So you can charge your phone while playing music.

Cool, I have some cool keyboard apps on My Tablet and want to use My midi keyboard to play it. Some of the apps actually have midi out so you can send midi out through the USB.
I have tried to connect my Samsung S6 lite to a midi keyboard but had no success so far. I used a cable USB B on the keyboard and a USB otg adapter on the tablet (original Samsung otg) and I am using all developer settings to enable Midi but nothing seems to work. I tried the same cable and keyboard with an old Android phone with USB mini otg and it works. Any idea on how to connect the S6 tablet? It was the primary reason why I bought the tablet
@@MrChubzik I found a cable on Aliexpress that works with the S6 lite, but it is really trial and error. The cable worked with my Yamaha YC61 and Roland RD64 but didn't work with Yamaha Clavinova. Better than nothing

Just bought an Alesis Qmini which works on laptop but can't be detected on my android 😢 I've used the original cable which is a USB-mini to USB-A and connected it on a hub which has USB-C connector for my phone but won't work. I've tried connecting the same setup on my laptop and it works on a website (and on MIDI-OX too though it stucks at times since it appears to use a lot of memory). The said website which my Qmini works have an android app but still can't detect my Qmini even on my other apps which supports MIDI controller as input. I am using Samsung A52s, updated OS, supports MIDI but still can't figure out why...
I was going to get that keyboard before I snagged an Alesis on an Amazon package deal. The Yamaha 125 was recomended as an excellent no 'bells & whistles' piano keyboard.. Looking up the specs again it looks like this would work using a USB cable the same as in the video. Looks like I have the same thing on my keyboard too.. chunky USB into the keyboard with standard USB out on the other end so you'll need that adaptor to plucg into your phone or tablet. So yes should work.
Does USB C not need an OTG (on the go) compliant connector? I needed an OTG connector on my older phone which worked fine but I'm having trouble connecting to my newer Xiaomi that has usb C. I was told the OTG was not necessary for USB C but I'm starting to think it is.

I have akai mpk mini. I was using it on FL studio mobile and it was working great. I'm not sure what happened but now it won't connect. The keyboard has power but when I go to the USB settings to switch it over to MIDI. It's grayed out and I can't select it. I bought a second adaptor and tried messing with developer settings but still no luck. I'dk if an update made it not work like a previous update did to my car stereo. Maybe my charger port is broken. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

If you’re going into an interface why not just go midi controller direct into your computer and run it into a free DAW to place and record? New to this so not sure what I’m missing.
Hey bro! I connected my CTS200 to Walkband app. It shows connected. When I press keys on keyboard, it shows up on the app, but there is no sound. 🥴 What could be wrong?
A better way is connecting a powered USB C hub to the phone, then connecting the keyboard and a USB DAC to the hub. The headphone jack use the phones DAC, its pretty low quality and of course offer less flexibility than a USB DAC
Hi. Would this also work if I bought a female-to-female USB adapter, in order to link the USB A to B cable that I already have, and the charger cable that comes with my Samsung phone? @@LLexieLux hmm very weird. What is the make of phone and keyboard? On some phone when you plug the USB in you have to select what you want the device to do (i.e transfer files or charge) and you need to select MIDI.
Hi! Thank you this interesting video, but unfortunately the application in my phone (Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra) not recognize the instrument (Yamaha DGX 640 digital piano). I plugged in the output (USB type B port - printer type port) to the phone USB type C port. It works only when I play some keys in the phone"s screen, but when I play in the piano's keyboard, there are no connection to that direction. I don't know why! I tried with other similar applications too, but without any success. :( Or this opportunity works only with midi controllers? I have midi controllers too, I will try it.

What about if you don't have a headphone jack? Dose it then do back out of the USBC and into your computer/interface?
The assholes took the headphone jack on all newer phones. I think the interface chips for headphones are old and consume too much power

I highly recommend cable called "USB C OTG with Charging". This way both keyboard and phone get power from charger and not drain phone battery.

Is there a USB Male/female with an extra port for power?
Hi! Thank you this interesting video, but unfortunately the application in my phone (Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra) not recognize the instrument (Yamaha DGX 640 digital piano). I plugged in the output (USB type B port - printer type port) to the phone USB type C port. It works only when I play some keys in the phone"s screen, but when I play in the piano's keyboard, there are no connection to that direction. I don't know why! I tried with other similar applications too, but without any success. :( Or this opportunity works only with midi controllers? I have midi controllers too, I will try it.
