Part 1 of our Overland Adventure into Death Valley.
Day One we went through Goler Wash and over Mengel Pass into Butte Valley ( Striped Butte )
A few things of note :
Arrive at Goler Wash with enough time to get through to the valley if you are camping. There are plenty of very pretty sites to camp so don't fret if someone is in the geologist cabin or the other cabins near the entrance to Butte Valley!! The best views are near the rocky outcroppings!
The route took us about 2 ½ hours and we missed :
    - Barker Ranch
    - Keystone mine
    - Several small mines located through the canyon
    Be sure to :
Air Down - there are plenty of sharp rocks that are more then happy enough to add drama to your day!
Part 2 - Rhyolite, Titus Canyon - Amazing! : • Death Valley Adventure...
    See you down the trail!

I’m doing this in about a month. This same route. I’m gonna stay the night twice so I can take my time. I got a 7 inch lift on a f150 v8. Should be easy and exciting. I bought the truck just to do this drive. This video kick ass. Thank you so much for taking the time and putting it together

I've been studying this road on RUclips for a while. This is the BEST info I've come across describing the road, the distance, the time elements. Thank You! btw - you don't start in the south end of Death Valley - that is the south end of the Panamint Valley, outside of the park just in case it confuses anyone. Great Job!

Hi Bobby, thanks for the info... I guess I was using south as just I was south of everything!

@@deliriumskid I was wondering about that I'm planning for some of the higher passes to potentially be snowed in do you think the charcoal kilns would be accessible?

This is an excellent video. I got as far as Ballarat before I caught two flats. Like you said: good tires are a must.

      @deliriumskid  2 года назад

Darn, sorry to hear about your side adventure of changing or fixing flat tires. The rocks are sharp and even when you air down your still going to hit them. Hope it all worked out and look forward to seeing you out there!

Thanks! - It was a ton of fun and I know there are people who do not go because they fear, we just need to figure out how to carefully apply the throttle past that in order to experience the world in true HD.

+1 to what someone else said this is the best description of the trail I’ve come across. I love the play by play and the use of Google Earth to ground the viewer in the locations you’re discussing. Do you take requests for trail reviews? Lol ;-)

I like that your rig has a name, that’s cool.
You may think you’re a novice but I have to say, this is the best and most information packed video I’ve seen.
The combination of your narration with Google maps and accompanying shots of the road and technical areas are the best I’ve seen.
You’re right about the Boulder field after Mengel pass and that’s pretty slow picking through there.
Some videos you never know which approach they started from, or even doubtful what trail they’re on and the music is so annoying but yours is great .
I’ll check your others but do you describe Alice and the upgrades such as which lift ?

    • @deliriumskid
      @deliriumskid  2 года назад

Thank you for the feedback, I am still trying to figure out how to create and make thoughtful and fun content. Alice has a Toytec 3 inch lift and there is a bio on the rig that covers everything down to the stickers!

Your formula is great. For the viewer there is no question where you start, what you do for the different technical spots and the Google Earth route trace ties it all together with your well planned narration.
Have you guys ever been up to Monache Meadows ? There are some great camp spots right on the river.
      Thanks again !

@@charleyfolkes Actually this is the first I am hearing of Monache Meadows, but the more I get into this the more I realize there are TONS of places I have never been!

      @@deliriumskid
Yeah? If you Google it you’ll find it.
Off 395 you take the turnoff for Kennedy Meadows. Keep it a secret, but you can camp right on the river and fish and it is beautiful.
Some slight trail challenges but not for Alice.
My Suburban 4wd actuator went out on that trip and almost couldn’t get it out ..
I’d love to see what you think but it’s a favorite

Have you considered narrating your videos without the constant verbal fillers? Count how many times you say uhm or ah. It affects the listeners. It makes you sound unprepared. Your fillers take away some of the impact and power of your speech.
