So psyched for Focal Point. I can't wait to see what this team can do with Xen after their amazing level design on the chapters so far.
I get a real dark and gritty-er vibe from this than the Xen tracks from the base Black Mesa -- almost like this is a track for the scenebuild TheParryGod made of his own darker version of Xen than the vibrant one we see in Black Mesa. I really wanna see the environment that this'll play in in the real game.
The OST sounds mysterious, the cover art looks beautiful

I feel like this soundtrack really highlights the urgency of Barney's situation compared to Gordon's. I mean...Gordon literally needs to fight his way to Nihilanth to close the gateway to Earth, but Barney's goal is much more immediate; activate the Xen relay so that him and his team can escape, while the HECU are literally knocking at their door. I'm betting this is the intro soundtrack when Barney comes to in the borderworld...but I guess I'll just have to wait till summer 2024 to see. Keep up the great work Daver!!
You're right, the whole soundtrack is about a guard who just wants to escape, not save the world. And thanks for the support!

I immediately clicked this video when I saw it.
After listening to it, it really makes you wonder how scary Xen can be. You’re a human who does not belong into this border world.
It sounds so mysterious and also so satisfying
I really love the HL'ish ambience in this track. Sounds like the Trainstation 2 track from HL2 a bit. Very eerie.

Xen is real
Chapter 5 is interesting, by the way, in the part where you find the machine that you have to activate in Xen. Have you already composed a song for it or not yet? It would be nice if there was an alien atmosphere when you activate the machine, the song comes out but with an alien and terrifying atmosphere, I don't know the truth. Your soundtrack really gets me into the story, that atmosphere you give it makes the remake the best remake. and best expansion of half life without a doubt your songs have royo half life really the best thing I have heard from your compositions good job I hope you add an alien atmosphere to that part. Any way you compose it it will sound great and epic. I support you Daver, never stop composing all the chapters. I send you a huge hug and greeting. good job. I love your songs.

To me it sounds a little bit like those old OBM ost songs like Zpaces and whatnot. It's great though and honestly a very cool picture as well.

Is this going to be the song that plays when Barney initially enters Xen? The "Space Ocean"/"Danger Rises" section, to correlate with the original?

@@daversforce incidentally, remember a while back, I suggested music to fill out certain locations in "Duty Calls" & "Captive Freight"? All the locations I suggested adding tracks to are locations that had BGM in the original Blue Shift, but didn’t in Black Mesa Blue Shift.

@@daversforce i was just suggesting that since the original Blue Shift didn’t really have its own soundtrack, all the locations in it that had music cues should have their own music for their corresponding locations in BMBS
