Imagine being a criminal in Blüdhaven and running into Bruce as Nightwing. You'd assume he's just gonna joke around for a bit, do a few flips, then you'll hand yourself in. But instead, he starts charging you at full speed, without a single word and breaks every single bone in your body before he says *_"NOW TALK."_*

I don’t know what metric people use when they yap about Tim being the best Robin but character wise he’s the worst one if I would rank them based on writing I would say
1 Jason Todd
2 Nightwing
3 Damian Wayne
And somewhere at the very bottom is Tim his character is unnecessary he never needed to exit at all
Each Robin has a story reason to justify their existence expect Tim he’s just there
Nightwing is the first Robin so of course he deserves his flowers
Jason has an awesome Iconic story that justifies his existence under the red hood
Damian is cool because it explorers the idea of Batman having a biological son and Damian being trained and raised by the league of assassin’s is just cool
Tim however I don’t know why he even exists at all he’s just another Robin by far the blandest one who doesn’t have a consistent character whatsoever in the animated series he was just a Jason Todd rip off and in other media like either the Arkham games or some animated movies he’s just a Richard Grayson rip off he has no character whatsoever
And then in comics to make him unique they just make him terrible at fighting literally a vigilante’s most important thing to be good at
Tim is just so lame and overrated asf if I made a new DC universe Tim wouldn’t exist period the only batfamily members that would exist besides Alfred obviously would be Nightwing and Jason Todd and Barbra and Damian that’s it everyone else is not necessary at all to Batman’s lore also Batman is not supposed to have a huge happy family it takes away from his character it takes away the darkness that makes Batman
the more bloated the batfamily is the worse for Batman stories overall so I would only keep the members that actually ADD something good to the lore not useless characters like Tim Drake

I feel Jason would have the same problem as Bruce though. a dark brooding vigilante trying to imitate Nightwing is laughable. Pulse the is the fact babes has been shown in rebirth to trust Jason as far as she can spit. shed be nagging him constantly to make sure his not killing people

@@omega8851 it’s not a mantle swap. Bruce isn’t taking over as Nightwing. He’s simply filling in for Richard while he’s away ( and this arc only has two more issues left, anyway. So this is clearly just meant to be a component of the story, not the new status quo)
Mantel swaps rarely do anything for me. Most of the time just feels like a character with their own superhero name, look, and identity become a lesser or edgier version of someone else.

Nightwing and batman are completely different the opposite of each other. Batman is the serious one the dark one. Nightwing is a symbol of hope not vengeance. Trying to change Nightwing and Batman ruins both there characters.

Dude I completely agree with you. We want Nightwing and Batgirl stories. I was a huge Tom Taylor Nightwing fan in the beginning of the run but now at the end of the run I can’t wait for it to be over. The next writer confirmed that Babs and Hayley the dog will be in the run so I’m hoping it’s good!!
The only way someone could take over for nightwing, is if Tim drake took the mantel temporary. Mainly since dc doesn't know what to do with tim and this would be a perfect temporary story where tim helps his brother out by taking over till he returns.

Jess the editor of Nightwing said that him and Babs are in their late 20s/ early 30s. Which is in fact Millennials, that was in ‘21 or ‘22. It wasn’t until last year that someone told me that dccomics wanted them to act like middle schoolers. Tom Taylor is the writer don’t blame Babs for anything, please. Also it’s the dumbest idea.

I think year one works as a comic and just the blueprint for Batman’s origin however I found the animated movie of year one to be extremely boring I’m I alone on that ? also that movie was a little weird in some scenes that I didn’t like at all like how there was a woman licking Bruce’s ear in front of Gordon like what ? why ? so weird or Gordon beaten up a naked guy or something and that was supposed to be badass ? it’s just weird I don’t know if these scenes were in the comic or not

And nightwing being a mantle has been a thing lol. He literally got it from a kryptonian who had it first and expanded apon/made it something more on earth. I hope this is brief but this isn't as huge a problem as people make it seem. It's just a father picking up the slack for his son while having faith he'll return once he's stronger from his personal journey.
From what I read this thing is going to not last long but be the end of Tom Taylor nightwing story arc but that’s just my opinion.
It would have been better if Bruce made his own version of the Nightwing costume by taking elements from other Batfam costumes like, say, the Red Robin cowl and Nightwing's (more armored) red suit. The cowl would help protect his identity more because that domino mask is just silly. It doesn't work for Bruce AT ALL.
Also, for me it does make sense for Bruce to have a spare suit lying around for his son, but would it even fit?

People rag on the Superman bit, but it's actually pretty believable. Like it sounds silly, but change minor things about yourself and other people psychologically would mistake that info for another person, that and people don't actually pay attention. There's also the fact that people have run into celebrities without realizing it, like I've seen Kareem Abdul Jabar and Steph Curry at the airport and nobody seemed to recognize them even with the obvious security detail. Stories like All Star Superman also expand on this by the fact that as CLark he slouches, changes his jaw posture, and uses a different voice.
No 😂 nothing about it is believable. People can recognise others they’re family with even from behind. I’ve recognised people I haven’t seen since high school simply from their height + hair colour. Sometimes from their voice alone. Family members I haven’t seen since I was a kid I can still recognise the voice of even tho it’s more aged and they have a different tone.
The idea that someone wouldn’t recognise another person bc they’re wearing glasses or bc they’re slouching is utterly ridiculous

@@wrylucifer those are two seperate people being mistaken for the same one. Not only is that circumstance invalid but if used, it supports my argument. As everybody thinks Clark Kent and superman are different people, so why aren’t more people mistaking them for the same person just by the voice alone?? Eventually people will notice more similarities once they notice even one. To assume nobody would notice the similarities is bad writing and assumes every character has no pattern recognition. Colin Farrell playing the penguin is a way larger differences than Clark Kent vs superman yet you can still barely tell that it’s Colin Farrell

Yeah, I agree that Zdarsky's run on Batman has gone a little stale, and Tec has gone off the reservation on a story that's hardly even about Batman at all!
I think some people will definitely see the difference in size between the two but hey what matters ultimately is that the criminals in Bludhaven are scared which Bruce can definitely do.
I think you as a person these days just come across as someone who just says I had it better in my time I mean yeah the comics in the past were better but that doesn't mean they are all awful now.
This Nightwing run has actually been really good this is a little weird but apart from this it's been great.
Heartless the villain you mentioned is not a villain of the week he has been the big villain of this whole run. Also you mentioned liking Nightwing and Batgirl together you do get that in this run but it seems evident that you didn't actually read all of it.

I haven't read anything new from DC. But I will say, Bruce Wayne posing as Nightwing...why? I'm gonna need to look into this "Bruce Wayne: Murderer Turned Fugitive" story at some pont, because does sound interesting.
