The jump scare made me gasp and jump back, and then I remembered that I had actually watched a Man-Bat jump scare compilation video a few months earlier, and forgot all about it. Man-Bat gets me every time too lol. It was cool to find out about the Halloween Easter egg where he and Francine get to go off and be bat-monsters together. The Arkham games always have those kinds of cool time-based secrets.
You can't imagine how long I've anticipated this video I've been so excited I've thought it came out in my dreams. I audibly cheered when I saw the notification. Thanks for your videos!
@@alwaysnerdyretros Not at all. It far surpassed it! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos, you're definitely one of my favourites and I always come back whenever I want to engage in a video for a while!
Finishing the video up soon, i just wanted to comment about how much detail you put in these videos. You don't just go in depth of the game, you tie the games into other media. Making many connections that not even the casual Batman fan would catch. Especially with the part of the open world easter eggs. Thank you so much for this video. I would really love an Arkham VR video. Not many liked it since it was so criminally short, but the story tie-ins included really make it worth it.
Thank you I really appreciate you saying that! I think an Arkham VR video would be fun too and I’d like to do that in the future. Recording on PSVR isn’t great right now and that game doesn’t work on Oculus, so I’m waiting on PSVR2 :/
I always love the way you talk about the game contents and give some comic backstory about them, makes it more unique and that you actually know what you are talking about. Can't wait for the next video:)
Ah perfect just in time for the weekend. Now I got something to watch when I want to eat instead of endless scrolling as my food gets cold lol thank you Mr Nerdy. Also I've beaten these games countless times but you somehow manage to show all these new things and information that I never knew of or never seen. Bravo
Just found your channel about a week ago and already had me antsy for pt.2! I’ve been sorta on a binge of the Batman Arkham series retrospectives and I’ve watched a few different channels videos on the topic but I must say, yours is by far the best. I admire the level of detail and depth you go into. Any questions I had or little mysteries I wondered about you covered brilliantly. Keep it up!
It's like YT knew I would be invested and binged the entirety of part 1 just yesterday and now we are here, definitely sticking around and seeing all you have to offer in the future and present.
Its a real challenge to make a 2 hour video not seem long but you did it. Your edits, letting the game speak for a while and always show the things you are talking about is the reason for that. I can tell you are passionate about the editing and it shows. Great work.
Have loved each deep long in depth dive into the Arkham series ! Definitely a fun rewatch to each game and parts . Really loved all of them , fantastic work ‼️
I just watched all your other Arkham videos last week and you just put a new one. Loving the timing because I was fully prepared to have to wait at least a couple months for it.
That’s awesome timing! I’m really glad the full series is finally out so nobody needs to wait anymore to complete it. 2 months between videos has been a sad reality recently :/
Can't say I've ever been roped in by longform content like this too many times, but you are one of the few RUclipsrs who have SO MUCH respect for the material you are covering and a lot of passion for this content creation thing, and I honestly hope you skyrocket one day, you deserve it with how entertaining your videos are. And with the respect and care that goes into the research, and all the extra stuff that isn't necessary but is really cool; like how you show pages of a comic book, read quotes about specific things (even going so far as to why easter eggs were included), look at development history, etc. Seriously, you genuinely deserve so much more support. This man is doing great though, good luck!
I think Penguins comment about being a Squirrel next might've been referencing "Squirrel Girl" an actual hero in Marvel. A little underhanded jab at marvel possibly. Love it.
My opinions on this game have softened a lot since it came out. At the time, the abundance/reliance of the Batmobile during the game really rubbed me the wrong way along with some of the story stuff. But almost 10 years on, it's a game I find myself coming back to a lot. It's not my favourite Arkham game, but there is a tremendous amount of replayability in it and every year or so I find that I'll at least boot it up, throw some costumes on and fly around Gotham. The modding scene is a big help too but generally I look back at the Arkham Quadrilogy as 4 good games in their own right.
Thank you for your wonderful videos. The dedication and care put into these is extremely noticeable and always makes for a great tromp through Arkham nostalgia.
I appreciate your content so much. Just completed this game. It's so good. I love the background info you give and the Easter eggs you point out. And the way you talk is very matter of factly, makes me very relaxed. I'd love to see you do retrospectives on other types of games too. More than just superheroes.
Thank you I really appreciate you saying that!!! I’ve been getting feedback to branch out from marvel/dc and I plan on doing that at some point in the future. I haven’t decided when or what game series that will be yet, but it is in my future plans
Great video as always! Thought I'd add 2 more open world easter eggs. Blaze Comics is mentioned at 2:07:01 as a publisher of Booster Gold's comics, but you can also find a Booster Gold poster in the city. Similarly, the Kord Industry buildings around Gotham are a reference to Kord Industries from the comics. Kord Ind is Ted Kord's company, who is also the (second) Blue Beetle.
Perfect video my guy, amazing content, i love your deep dive on the Arkham knight game, and also, don't know if anyone else has noticed this but at 1:52:18 Nightwing entering the fight sounds a lot like Scout from Tf2, as soon as i heard it i thought Nightwing was going to pull out a bat and start running around while calling for medic, while simultaneously beating the crap out of croc
I thoroughly enjoyed this, as someone who loves Batman stories. All of your Arkham videos made me rediscover the little details, and the passion that has gone into these games. I used to dismiss Arkham Knight as the weakest among the three Rocksteady games, but looking at it through your perspective makes me love this game a lot now. Amazing dedication and effort, and I'm gonna have fun revisiting these videos
I have watched a lot of the Batman Arkham series retrospective videos. Your trilogy are the absolute best out of them all. thank you for making these, I'm going to watch these multiple times just as I play those games multiple times.
I know I'm a bit late to comment, after watching this video for a few days (so much studying), I feel like I can give an honest review. One word, amazing. I was excited about this video because Arkham Knight is one of my favourite games of all time. You seriously didn't miss any important detail in any section of the videos. I can only imagine how much time this has taken but you seriously outdid yourself this time. This only has me more excited about Spider-Man PS1 because I have fond memories of that game and it was one of the first games I ever played. Thank you for this amazing video!
Me personally, I just wish the base story and side missions were better. It feels really self contained, which would normally be fine, but doesn't really feel like an Arkham finale until the last 20 minutes or so. To make a comparison to something more recent, it's like the Halloween Ends of the Arkham franchise, a largely unrelated stand alone story for most of the runtime, then rushing to a franchise finale at the end. The Gotham's Most Wanted DLC missions and DLC character stories do a far better job of conveying the finality that the main story was missing. That being said though, the sheer amount of content in the game, between the base game, DLC missions, and challenge maps is just ridiculous in the best way, and this easily has the best (non-tank) combat, traversal and overall gameplay of the franchise. For those reasons I can never claim its a bad game, because honestly it is *really really* good, it was just really close to being great. As it stands i personally rank it 4th out of the 4 Arkham Games, which may sound low but that's still a 7.5-8/10
I appreciate the patience and I’m glad it was worth the wait! Sometimes these videos take longer than I expect and Arkham Knight has definitely been one of those lol
I am so glad the feature of the camera to activate during the Man-Bat reveal was not implemented. The first time it happened to me I screamed like a little girl and nearly threw the controller at my TV in response. Damn thing still scares me every time it happens. 😆😆😆
Yes finally. Man your breakdowns are a serious treat. I love how you cover the comics too. The Dual combat was so underused that croc bossfight was fantastic since it's also a team up with nightwing. And the madhatter was walk down memory lane. I've never heard the the dialogue with two face after the unmasking.
@@alwaysnerdyretros It really. My favorite one was the Killer croc, mad hatter and league of shadows especially for its enemy types. @@alwaysnerdyretros I agree but the batmobile situation is odd and it took so much away from the bossfights and that ruined the game for some but fans have been asking for the batmobile since arkham city only for people to act the way they did when they get it. They hate the batmobile so much it blinds of the good Rocksteady did with the rest of the game. You're one of the few people who also appreciate how well crafted the batmobile is. Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman actually have two unique special moves. They're triggered by pressing X+Y or B+A (I can't remember which of these button combinations is used for the special moves you mentioned tho). Nightwing's second move is an electric area of effect move with his stun sticks, Catwoman's second move is an area of effect whip trip, and Robin's second move is him grabbing an enemy by their leg and arm, spinning them around and throwing them in a desired direction, it's pretty funny.
@Always Nerdy It's alright, please don't apologize for such awesome work U do every time... I am saying it's too long but it's been just a month but felt like too long cause I was waiting every other day since the first part, lol...

@@alwaysnerdyretros no worries, the video's really good even without it, and trying to put every good Joker's quote would be impossible since he has way too many.

1:03:00 Neat funfact from the comics: Starro was once a Robin under the name "Jarro" due to Batman growing him in a jar. He was also Earth Prime Batman's favorite Robin.
honestly, i really love the park from the Batgirl DLC. it always gave me Killing Joke vibes. Commissioner Gordon being held in a cage in a run down amusement park. the Joker getting it after the original owner bites the dust, and the fact that Batgirl is present (as a prominent kick boxer, of which the irony of that isn't lost on me.) all gives me vibes of that comic. makes me wonder if Rocksteady made a Killing Joke game if they'd use this location again.
Fantastic video as always. You easily make the best superhero game retrospectives. Cover literally everything. Arkham Knight is a weird one for me because I love so much of it but as somebody who doesn't really care for Jason Todd a lot of the stuff with him doesn't work a whole lot with me. Also would've love to see Harley some more in this game. Also I feel like they could've done another Mr. Freeze boss fight. Not with Freeze himself but maybe instead of a giant tank fight you gotta fight some thug who's taken Freeze's gear and you gotta take him out in a similar way to the Freeze fight from City. Once again great video! Hope to see you cover Origins: Blackgate someday. Mediocre gameplay imo but decent enough story with some exclusive characters. Plus it technically ties in with that Suicide Squad game coming out this year.

It’s perfect because usually during the grappling maneuvers, the player is heavily focused on finding grapple targets, and is not expecting a monster face right in the camera.
Man-Bat gets me every time too lol. I was so happy that my favorite Batman villain got to have his moment to shine in this game, and the Easter egg for She-Bat if you return after the mission is neat. It was cool to find out about the Halloween Easter egg where he and Francine get to go off and be bat-monsters together. The Arkham games always have those kinds of cool time-based secrets.
I agree I love those kind of hidden details! I’m sure Suicide Squad will be packed with them too and I can’t wait!
You can't imagine how long I've anticipated this video I've been so excited I've thought it came out in my dreams. I audibly cheered when I saw the notification. Thanks for your videos!
Hahaha I’m sorry I took so long! I really hope it lives up to your dream 😆
@@alwaysnerdyretros Not at all. It far surpassed it! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos, you're definitely one of my favourites and I always come back whenever I want to engage in a video for a while!
@@mangathecomicgeek9450 That’s so great to hear!!! I’m really glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your kind words 😃 Comment any time lol
ALRIGHT THE NEXT PART Finally dude!!! I love watching your videos!!!😭😭😭😭💖💖💖🙏🏻🙏🏻🔥💥🔥💥✨
Thank you!!! 😃
A retrospective can’t get better than this! Amazing job good sir! 👏 🎉
I always love the way you talk about the game contents and give some comic backstory about them, makes it more unique and that you actually know what you are talking about. Can't wait for the next video:)
Thank you I’ll make sure to keep doing that :)
This is the best retrospective channel. Not too long. Not too short. Keep up the great work!
Finally! Glad to watch Part 2, I really enjoyed Part 1.
That’s great to hear 😃 I hope you enjoy this one as well!
Ah perfect just in time for the weekend. Now I got something to watch when I want to eat instead of endless scrolling as my food gets cold lol thank you Mr Nerdy.
Also I've beaten these games countless times but you somehow manage to show all these new things and information that I never knew of or never seen. Bravo
Hahaha I’m glad I’m not the only one who does that 😆 No problem and I’m glad I could help!
Keep it up!
That’s so awesome to hear!!! Thank you for commenting to tell me. I’ll do my best to maintain that same level of detail in the future as well :)
It's like YT knew I would be invested and binged the entirety of part 1 just yesterday and now we are here, definitely sticking around and seeing all you have to offer in the future and present.
That’s awesome timing! Thank you for checking out the channel btw 😃
Its a real challenge to make a 2 hour video not seem long but you did it. Your edits, letting the game speak for a while and always show the things you are talking about is the reason for that. I can tell you are passionate about the editing and it shows. Great work.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you commenting to tell me. It means a lot to me and I’m really glad the video didn’t feel overlong
Was just lookin for somethin to watch, perfect timing
Thank you! I hope you enjoy :)
Have loved each deep long in depth dive into the Arkham series ! Definitely a fun rewatch to each game and parts . Really loved all of them , fantastic work ‼️
Thank you!!! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed them 😃
I just watched all your other Arkham videos last week and you just put a new one.
Love it.
2:11:15 if only he could have know
The performances in this game were a huge inspiration to me. I'm only more determined to do my best and become a great voice actor like Kevin was.
1:00:00 wow that story about the amusement park owner was chilling. I had absolutely no idea it was in the game. Thanks man
My opinions on this game have softened a lot since it came out.
It's crazy to think I found your channel a week ago now and I've gone through and watched all of your retrospectives... what do I watch now lol
I’m so glad you’re enjoying them!!! It looks like I need a bigger backlog of videos though. I’ll get back to work on the next video now lol
Thank you for your wonderful videos. The dedication and care put into these is extremely noticeable and always makes for a great tromp through Arkham nostalgia.
1:31:12 I love that robin’s shield can soak up sniper rounds but not pistol rounds
Great two videos on Arkham Knight. I've beat the game several times and you pointed out a lot of extra details that I missed out on.
Been so excited for this, they are all so rewatchable
The goat finally did part 2
I have watched a lot of the Batman Arkham series retrospective videos. Your trilogy are the absolute best out of them all. thank you for making these, I'm going to watch these multiple times just as I play those games multiple times.
Thank you!!! I really appreciate that 😃

that had me dying 😂
I’ve been waiting for this for so long. IM SO HYPED
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave me such a kind comment :)
As it stands i personally rank it 4th out of the 4 Arkham Games, which may sound low but that's still a 7.5-8/10
Great video man , well worth the Month .. don’t usually wait that long for videos to come out but you’re content is amazing
I appreciate the patience and I’m glad it was worth the wait! Sometimes these videos take longer than I expect and Arkham Knight has definitely been one of those lol
Yes! I have been waiting so excitedly for Part 2! I'm loving this so far
Thank you!!! I agree, I really enjoyed the dlc side missions in particular. The Freeze one still hits me on an emotional level too lol
@@alwaysnerdyretros It really. My favorite one was the Killer croc, mad hatter and league of shadows especially for its enemy types. I was also letdown my the Deathstroke bossfight in knight I feel the exact same way entirely. I felt the same way about jason but something tells me they'll make up for the bossfights in suicide squad kill the justice league.
@@baki484 Rocksteady seems good at taking criticism and learning from it, so I believe them if they’re saying they’re improving boss fights for suicide squad. They definitely proved they can do it city. Idk why the knight boss fights were meh. Maybe because they were so focused on the batmobile?

@@alwaysnerdyretros I agree but the batmobile situation is odd and it took so much away from the bossfights and that ruined the game for some but fans have been asking for the batmobile since arkham city only for people to act the way they did when they get it. They hate the batmobile so much it blinds of the good Rocksteady did with the rest of the game.
You're one of the few people who also appreciate how well crafted the batmobile is. Over the years I've personally come to appreciate arkham knight and the passion that went into making it. Though it fell short it's still a technical marvel that still looks great even on my base Ps4 that has gone on to inspire various games like the insomniac Spiderman series with will further take inspiration especially with the Dual combat introduced in arkham knight for its sequel.
So glad to see this popped up i just rewatched the entire series videos you put out, can't wait to watch!
Loved the first part (will rewatch it tho) so I was awaiting this one & glad you uploaded it.
This is it, the final arkham retrospective till Suicide Squad:Kill the Justice league. You´ve truly ignited my passion for not just the arkham games, but also the Batman mythos itself ever since the Arkham Origins retrospective. Now it ´ s time to see if it was worth the wait for the conclusion of the foursome of Batman games retrospective.
I really hope it is 🤞Either way this was a lot of fun to make and I’m looking forward to future Batman videos, Suicide Squad especially 😃
Jesus Christ. At this point Harley is irredeemable. Convincing a man to commit suicide and assisting the joker in worsening a 5 year old girls condition
I’m so glad you’ve included a lot of the Arkham lore in these videos. Such a detailed backstory that’s easily missed. Honestly it’s a real treat for Batman fans all around. This part two was excellent
I really enjoyed your Arkham series videos, and I’ve come back to comment. With such amazing work showing the in and outs of the game and gameplay it’s amazing so thank you for a good 2 hour review and keep up your work.
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the kind comment :)
@@alwaysnerdyretros no problem G
43:25 I think you misunderstood that bit of closure. Ras is proud of Bruce for essentially killing him. It’s a twisted sense of pride, because it’s what he would do. I still pick that ending tho. Ras was way too dangerous and corrupt by that point.
This was a great watch! Love all your retrospectives. The editing, research, and narration is always entertaining!😄

The time and effort you put into this video is very evident and greatly appreciated. Arkham knight is such a great game, and you’ve done an excellent job explaining and breaking down why. I also really enjoy hearing your opinions throughout; as well as learning about all the references from the comics and other sources. Overall, thanks again for another great video haha
Cool, time to rewatch part 1 and watch part 2. Thank you very much for the videos, they do help me have a good time)

I think the Sarah York Easter egg with the "inability to turn left" is a reference to the movie Zoolander
You have quickly become one of my favorite youtubers. Keep going. Love your content.
After watching the side missions part i wish you'd include Joker's comment after Penguin kidnaps Nightwing where he compares it to him kidnapping Jason Todd, because it was probably one of my favorite Joker lines in the side quests.
Sorry about that. In hindsight I think that would have been a fun one to include too
@@alwaysnerdyretros no worries, the video's really good even without it, and trying to put every good Joker's quote would be impossible since he has way too many.

Harley convincing a dude to kill himself after she was an accomplice to his daughters murder makes her truly irredeemable and makes suicide squad Harley seem like two different people
After a long weekend, I’m glad to come home to this anticipated video. Another W video from Always Nerdy
Thank you! I’d like to do origins blackgate sometime in the future, although I don’t have any immediate plans for it yet. That one and Arkham vr
