Happy Father's Day to you as well, and all the Dads!! Have a great day with your family Sunday. Josh will make that a runner I'm sure. Yep, would have been nice if they bad guys stuffed a few bills in the seat. Keep up with the videos! Very calming.
I once bought a '78 Mercury Grand Marquis because I needed some cheap transportation, & those lyrics would've been the right ones when I was handing over the cash..."You may find yourself buying the worst car you've EVER owned!" But I think that Ex-con Bug has served its' sentence, & is ready for a 2nd chance...& a new floorpan, seats, a deep cleaning, new headliner, etc., etc., lol. Happy Father's Day!
Nice project! 'Paid 500 clams for my 1st '64. Of course that was 1975. 35 years later I got another '64. A daily driveable one. Engine on yours is all correct! Cheers!
What a story...great video...Awesome car...Happy Father's Day.........i Wish i found beetle....My Father's driving 1975 in very good shape back in South Africa........
Can’t believe people are simply letting these babies fall to the elements as demonstrated in your channel, Jason. “Same as it ever was.” What a way to spend out 2020, rehabilitating discarded Beetles and Microbusses. By New Year’s Eve, you’ll have tackled enough of them for your own car show. Think you could bring it to Ballston Spa, NY where my sister’s family lives? My brother-in-law could use a dose of Volkswagen to balance out his equilibrium.
Always enjoy the videos. If you had a dollar for every hour you’ve spent cleaning, scrubbing, vacuuming or washing VW, you’d have enough money to fix every VW on the east coast!! Love your work man...
I am sooo glad we don't have mice problems in my area. Do have rust, though not like the stuff you get! I have had good luck using rust removers (not converters) with phosphoric acid in them to remove rust spots from original paint like that on the dash. It works very slowly, but is effective... Have fun with yet another project... At least you are young enough to get a bunch of projects done!
I can’t believe how many old Bugs you find. Where I live in Pennsylvania, I can’t find any! Wouldn’t mind seeing this old bug run! Great story associated with it!
Hey 5150mxVW 😎 You never fail. Once again I am speechless. (LOL). You jump right into your projects. It actually looks like fun. You have a great sense of humor. I will be looking forward for the next video 🤙
It's sad to see all those beautiful cars become a hunk of rust up north. We have very old cars in north Texas that don't have a spot of rust except maybe some surface rust where the sun has sunburned the paint off. Happy father's day to you and hope she doesn't make you sleep in the car.

I’ve noticed there’s a lot of friction on the two angle iron bars on your trailer when winching cars up. A thought for you is put two long steel rollers for the winch cable as to take a lot of stress out out of the winch. 🤔🤔🤔
@@mikem8050 sorry, I have that problem all the time, jokes that work when you tell em don't work in print. You can't put the tone on them that gives them the humorous intent.
The whole time I was thinking, "Media Blasting!" Did all the Beetles have fold down rear seats? My 68 did. I actually slept back there when I went to Watkins Glen for the GP. Want a quick, easy and cheap thrill? Power wash and clean an old car you just bought. Oh and. media blast it! Or in this case, sand blast it. With that much rust in the seat frame, a sawsall makes a good seat remover.

They didn't call him Mad Marvin for nothing. 😁
Your lucky you always find gold. I used to live in ct I cannot find one or afford a car like that. Still can't afford one like that one in that way. Well happy father's day
I am impressed on how that beetle is for a 50+ year old car, except for the mouse dirt that is a true dependable means of transportation, you don*t get them like that anymore, as for the outside of the car, a good pressure wash will sure get rid of years of accumulated mold dirt, surface rust, in the inside some rust inhibitor or preventive will do, as for the dash it is metal which you can paint, not like the newer beetles 73 on that have a dash pad, I would consider that a challenge for you to see how you get it running.
That’s sort of what happened to my dad‘s Beetle at the end of the 60s. He and my mother had just left Brooklyn for the Hudson Valley, and they purchased a sun bug with a soft top in banana yellow. That was 1968. The following year, he and my uncle were visiting their own dad in Brooklyn, and the Volkswagen got ripped off overnight. It was right after 911 emergency went into service, and my dad didn’t know yet that Grandtheft qualified as such an emergency.

@@5150mxVW we took ours and removed the front seat area of the body, reattached the back seat and all to the front and made a fine buggy with roll bars . So it had the bench seat as the seat age. It was body changed about 1975 and lived til we retired it in 1984. The clutch went and the gas pedal went so it went full engine speed. When it was running in the early 80s, the compression was almost shot. Had to stop and put it into first gear to get it up a back off roads hill, or it was gutless and you would have to roll it backwards down hill to wind it up to get it to the top of the hill. Great memories.
5150 good picking on the shoreline,,,,, love the story about the getaway car,,,, hey love the 64 bug....... oh by the way happy Father’s Day..... where is the little monster in quarantine??????? how come he’s not helping!!!!!!!! hey by the way you mentioned that you wanna buy that Miller to 211..... go the extra money by the Miller 215 with the tig gun spend the extra money,,,,,,, you won’t regret it,,,, that’s my next update the nice thing,,,, about it’ll run on 110 or 220 not bragging but I got a Miller to 255 runs on 240 volt great welder. But the 215 Miller his a good welder. Take care stay out of trouble NOT A EASY THING FIR YOU TO DO. GLAD TO DUBWORKS NOT HANG OUT WITH YOU THAT GREAT. !!!!!!!!!!! Take care junkmando
Agree on welder got one from Facebook market .less than a mile away came with spool gun two tanks, extra tips and pieces $1000 keep eyes open Central California watching
Anyone doing welding like the convenience of a mig. But sometimes, especially with light gauge metal you can control your weld better. Where I worked we never used a mig unless we got above 16ga. We did a heck of a lot of stainless. Used a filler rod for tacking and hit the hot tacks with a wet rag to pull the seam tight
Hi Safety Bacon , I have the Miller 211 already , when i said " pull the trigger " i meant do some welding ....if that is what you are referring to . I will check out the 215 as I wanted a welder for each garage . Thank you

Oh, wow...
Without a mask? I couldn't take enough showers to feel clean after rolling around in that mouse hotel.
You're a brave man!
I learned how to drive a 64 red bug. Memories. Ours was that fire engine red color.
Good Stuff :)))
I’m sure Jen was thrilled with this find😆
it is Blue , she is naming it so there is hope ....I have to get rid of one or two to keep it lol

Thank you
This car is worth having for the story alone.
👍, I agree , thank you
