    Hi Anji! Thank you for the informative videos. I appreciate that you provide valuable content instead of just fluff. I have a question about adding products to my Etsy store. Currently, I have one store with a specific niche and around 10 handmade products. However, I want to create another Etsy store focusing on print-on-demand products. I also have a Shopify store that uses a different POD company. In one of your videos, you suggested focusing on perfecting one product instead of having many different ones. But now, I see that we need to have up to 1000 products in our store. I can create around 3 designs in one day, but it takes time to ensure that they look right. As I have a background and degree in internet marketing, Canva is easy for me. Do you have any suggestions on how to create designs faster? Is this for launch? Or before I do ads? Or did I misunderstand something?

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +4

      You’re welcome! I just recommend shooting for that number over time ( not starting there ) I recommend starting with 50 listings. And building out for each holiday as they come (and in between adding evergreens niches). I do have a video on my channel here about how to do 1000 listings in 30 days by making templates. You don’t have to do it in 30 days or do all templates like shown in that video (it’s just an option) and to help you expand your mind in how you can list more quicker. I hope that helps!

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +1

      Thank you! So glad this was helpful for you. I would do 5-10 with the same SEO/keywords. And then do variations of SEO blocks. Sale Samurai can help you come up with alternate keywords. And as you do research, you will find additional micro niches of that niche. For example: one listing might be mommy and me shirt, first mothers day gift (those kind of keywords) and another listing might be mom and daughter matching shirts, gift for mom (very similar but different). Does that make sense?

That would mess up all my stats. Also most RUclipsrs (if they understand keyword research) don’t want to share their stores. All the information you need is provided in the videos and you can view plenty of successful stores on Etsy.

How to do that: When you go to your Etsy Dashboard > Click Marketing Tab > Etsy Ads > Scroll down to where you can see your listings that are advertised, click on detailed stats, scroll down to searches that led to this ad. There are different payment settings available in Etsy from daily to weekly to monthly (depending on where you are in your journey)

  • @Laflaqua-hg5yx
    @Laflaqua-hg5yx Год назад +1

    Hi Anji, do you offer the 35$ Free Shipping Guarantee in your shop? I do and I'm struggling with that. When I offer a 15% discount on my items, then once people order 2 things (above 35$) and get free shipping I make hardly any profits, considering 6.5% Etsy fees as well, and the 10$ shipping I have to pay. And if I price my items even higher I end up way more expensive than the others. Considering I'm a new shop trying to grow this is tough! What do you suggest?

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +2

      I have run tests in multiple different stores. I don't find too much of a difference between paid shipping vs free. So I always just opt for what is the most simple for me. With new stores, I use the Sale Samurai calculator and set my prices to break even to help me grow quicker. As the store gets more seasoned then I would raise my prices (once the trust factor is there with reviews, etc and the quality score of my store has gone up). I think what most people don't realize is that a lot of businesses are in the red for the first 2 years. Now, on Etsy that is a different story. But it at all depends on your personal risk tolerance. The longer you are in business the more your risk tolerance increases because you understand the payoffs of every dollar you spend on ads and the amount of data you are collecting (for the future growth of your store). I hope that makes sense and helps somewhat!

Since the customers who purchased the Mother's Day products made those purchases after Mother's Day, I'm wondering why you didn't just go ahead and fulfill them? Those customers would have known it was after Mother's Day, so maybe they were ordering as a late Mother's Day gift? You have to PAY Printify before Etsy pays you. So if you sell 1k in products you get from Printify, you'd better have 1k in your bank account to send them, because Etsy can take up to 45 DAYS to get you that money. How do you fix that?

    • @TheAnjiMartin

      It gets charged to a credit card. Your credit card payment is only due once per month. I didn’t start here. As I showed in the video I only did $1780 revenue in my first month. I worked my way up. Then Etsy allows you to get paid daily. At that point you can pay off your credit card multiple times per month.

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +1

      No 😊 Mother’s Day was the keyword and the holiday was Mother’s Day. It was a relevant broad keyword it just cost me a little too much. The keyword brought tons of sales but the return on ad spend wasnt that great. There are many factors that I take into consideration for the performance of the ad and when I turn off keywords. I didn’t mind taking a little loss initially to increase the quality score of the listing with the sales I got from it. And so long as organic sales are still coming in from search traffic (for that keyword and listing) I felt it was okay to turn it off.

The ad still ran without that keyword and continued to bring sales but have a low roas. When it’s fully turned off the listing can still bring organic traffic with that keyword (which it has still been able to do). It’s definitely a broad related keyword, hence why I included it in the seo. Getting that initial boost of sales is what the Etsy algorithm needs. Hello Anji, I am trying to understand this part and I am sorry because you are explaining in the video but I'm not understanding.
    At around 9:40 in the video you said that the keyword that made you lose 600 dollars was "Mother's Day Gifts". But then you said that it brought you 4000 views in a couple of days and hundreds of sales. Then you needed to turn it off.
    I am a bit lost, because it seemed to me like it was a good thing that you got that many views/sales. Why did you turn it off?

    • @TheAnjiMartin
      @TheAnjiMartin  Год назад +3

      Yes. It brought a TON of of visits and sales. Which is clearly a win. However, the ad was not profitable at all. After sales, revenue, expenses/ad costs - I didn't profit on any of those sales. I was out of pocket $600. Which is fine, because that increased the quality score of the listing and bumped it up in the algorithm. However, I didn't want to keep losing money by paying for that ad. The ROI was not good. The return on ad spend should be at least 3 x ROAS. But, I didn't need to keep the ad on anyways because the organic sales (from Etsy search) caught up with it. Now the listing IS profitable by sales coming in that I'm not paying for... does that make sense?

      I should also add that I have not opened an Etsy shop yet because I have been researching; I am opening my shop next week. So, I have never used the Etsy interface as a store owner. Maybe had I actually had my own store to begin with, I would have immediately understood what you were saying.

    but it intensive labour at first. Developing 4 eyes. I was thinking about the biggest issue with online shops like Etsy or printify. The local gift shop which is in a small shopping mall probably brings in about $400- $500k in revenue a year. Their products are suck and the range is very limited. But they get noticed and this is the issue that so many Etsy don’t get noticed despite having better products. The biggest winners are the printer manufacturers, Etsy and printify

    • @TheAnjiMartin

      This is a question I don’t like to answer for several reasons. The amount of listings I have active now isn’t a reflection of the amount of listings I have done over time. Some have been deactivated. I have also ran tests in different stores. I find the amount of listings required for each store to reach their goals varies greatly by so many factors. I think 1000 listings is a good amount to focus on. And that means as you go your listings get better. As you look back at your first listings you will probably want to remove those. I think a lot of sellers are still very much winning. Of course Etsy and Printify are making the most. But you can always maximize your efforts by documenting your journey like I am.
