Dude, thank you so much for this guide. I’m planning on getting a PS5 this year if I can get a job and if they get them made and distributed fast enough. There are several game saves that I want to transfer and this guide will help me immensely when the day comes that I get my PS5. Many thanks for this.

I finally got mine that my friend was holding for me and set it up yesterday and all i had to do was simply log into my playstation and everything from ps4 was automatically on my ps5 i didn't have to do anything except log into my account.
That's because your data was backed up to the cloud because you must likely have playstation plus set up that way. This is for people who don't have it set up like that

Hi, I'm getting my ps5 on Friday!! (25/3/22) .. I know you showed us a flash drive to transfer files across but how does the external storage method work ? I am wanting all my games and saved data transferred from ps4 to ps5
Then get an external hard drive like a Western digital black and upload everything to there. You can play it directly from the hard drive. I have a video on that as well

Got a question, i downloaded all PS4 saved game data to an external hard drive but when i went to plug it in to my PS5 a message came up saying something about there being two copies of one of my game's data being on both the PS5 and in the hard drive and that i needed me to delete the data in the hard drive in order for the PS5 to recognise that the hard drive was plugged into the USB. I clicked no because i feared losing data for the game, now it says that no USB storage device is detected. I unplugged the hard drive and plugged in back in and the same message as before came up. The PS5 console is currently downloading the PS5 version of the game in question with the PS4 data for the same game waiting in the queue. Is is safe to delete the data from the hard drive or should i wait till its all been downloaded onto the console before deleting it.
Thanks for the explainer, but when I copied over RE the village, it isn't detecting any game save files when I go to start it up. I took advantage of the free upgrade to the ps5 version so I currently have the ps4 version that I started on, and the ps5 version. Both show starting a new game.

I’ve been using my external hard drive for game space on my ps4 but now i want to transfer my game data onto my ps5, it keeps telling me that the external hard drive cannot be used as a usb as it is being used as an external hard drive, any ideas on how to format it as a usb (move all my game data to my ps4 etc?)
someone help me please. I already have the games saved on the USB, but when I go to the PS4 section of PS5 and select to transfer the games via USB, the PS5 asks me to connect to the internet and does not let me transfer them. please help.
Does this only work for PS4 games to PS4 games on the PS5. Not updated versions of the same game but the PS5 Version
Thanks so much I thought I would have to finish the whole Red Dead Redemption Two story all over again 😅🙏
I've tried it, but don't work. I've backup the save files in the ps4 pro in a USB. But when I put it on ps5 don't se the usb. But if I go in the media, here I see the USB Drive. Know any solutions?
You need to go to the ps4 data option not the ps5 data option
@@Gotiansgames thanks for your answer. I've sell the ps4 pro but, before make a backup in a usb flash. indeed if i put usb in a pc I see the file ( ps4 -> export ->...... -> archive.dat) but when I'm in a 5:26 and press copy to console storage the ps5 say " there isn't any save data"
thats weird, it should show up as an external hard drive or usb drive
@@catanisInside I have this same issue. Have you found a solution.
Me too, my usb device empty when plug in to ps5. And my ps4 sold out cant use cloud backup
I have a video on that as well
@@Gotiansgames i cant seem to find the video - can you send me the link please

Ik I have asked so many questions but I promise that this is the last one. So, when I do everything you told us to do. Will it be on the flash or external hard drive. So let’s say Minecraft, you do everything and will it be on the external hard drive or the ps5 hard drive? Or will it be on the ps5 storage Device if you have not already formatted it to the ps5?
If you transferred to the ps5 hard drive it's on the hard drive
Okay, so it will be one the ps5 storage Device. I want it on the ps5 storage device because seagate hard drives can last over 3 years. I got my months ago but due to my anxiety, I want games like fortnite on the ps5 storage device because ps5s last up to 7 years
Awesome! Thanks Bro! Very helpful!
It won’t let me if I leave at extended Storage and go to copy it tell me it’s using at an extended storage if I stop it and go back it tells me there no usb connected any help or tips
try a different port in the PS5, and make sure you are checking the right spot. Go to application saved data in the settings and then you can click on the options from there. If transferring PS4 data make sure you click on the PS4 saved data
Great thank you I’ll check it out
Can i do this with all ps4 accounts/profiles? Cuz i have my brothers account which has a lot of progress on monster hunter and my account which has a lot of progress on multiple games, can i just store both me and my brothers save data into 1 usb stick???
I did do this on an older PS4 system but on 8.03 it says the device has to be formated to an extended storage format min size 250 GB so a small flash drives can not be used.
I still use a flash drive. It is not an extended storage
Thank you! Awesome video very helpful you're the man!
Bro this vid was the one I needed man 🎉 good job
Can you transfer games on a USB flash drive stick? Not hard drive/game drive. I know you can transfer saves but what about games???
In theory if you have a big enough and fast enough flash drive then sure
@@Gotiansgames thanks!!!
There's a video tutarial on that
Brought my p5 yesterday, I deliberately didn't renew ps+ therefore either transfer games from my p4 or just the save data.
Hey man I did ewery thing that you do but after when I try to play miles morales
NO old saves appear i try also restarting ps5 but no luck please can somebody help using the same ps profile as before
Thanks! Worked as advertised.
Mine says cannot perform action usb storage device is being used as extended storage
I have a digital PS5 is it possible that my PS4 disc games can be saved and I'll play them 🤔
Thanks I’m getting on probably this week
Hi mate! Do i need to format my usb to exFAT? Just to use this method of copying? I will buy ps5 this month
Do I download the game first or do I transfer the save data first
does this work in ps4 ff7 remake too? I played it on Ps4 console
Good video but also required is to be signed into a unique PlayStation network account to be able to save files to usb. Same for destination system.
I have saved games on my 3tb external should i transfer my ps4 games to ps5 or just the saved data and just download the game thru ps5?
Depends on your internet to be honest. But either way you can't play the games directly from your hard drive
I did all this and under storage it detects it but when i go to saved data management it says USB not detected. I have an external hard drive. Help?
Hi when u copy your save games to your ps5 do u have to use your external hard drive with the game disk to play
Thanks for the explainer, but when I copied over RE the village, it isn't detecting any game save files when I go to start it up.
I took advantage of the free upgrade to the ps5 version so I currently have the ps4 version that I started on, and the ps5 version. Both show starting a new game.
