What if the game was originally installed onto the external hard drive? Does that mean the saved data is on there already and I can just connect to my PS5 and play where I left off?
I’m glad I seen this video. I wasn’t sure if my saved game data saved to Plus& PSN subscription. But I did always have auto upload to my Plus/PSN subscription acct. Thanks for Confirmation
hey there...is there a way to copy the ps4 game on to the hard drive without removing it from the console..Like if a friend wanted to copy it for me who cant download it so we could both play?
@@fafagbedemah8960 not sure that can be done. Because Games that you bought on your system belong to your account. So you could copy it to the external hard drive but unless it’s a game that is on PS Plus or PSN which you’d both have to have. That would be the only way you could play co-op together. What game is it ur trying to play together. Maybe I could give better insight. Only game that you can do that with is a game called No way out! Only 1 person needs to own the copy of the game to play. But you have to have a co- op player to play it with you in order to play. If that’s the game you’re talking about then yes.
@@fafagbedemah8960 you can copy it to his console and you can play your games on your account. On his console but you can’t play the game in 2 different places at one time without both owning the game. Threw own PS accounts. Unless you have a Modded system. But I’ve never seen a modded PS4. Only consoles that I’ve seen modded was PS3-& X-Box 360 to pull off those kinds of cross play with the same game.

Okay. I was confused for a minute. I thought that I could still transfer the saved data to the external hard drive, except I didn't realize you need a separate USB stick to do that. But thank you for your effort to help.

Exactly what I was after. Now I can back up both types data on 2 different hdrives. Transfer a certain game over then download all data safely. Thought I had to back up and restore. But if I did that I would've lost the transferred game. Thank u so much

Thanks for this but i wish i watched this sooner! I bounce around from 2 homes in 2 countries and have a PS4 and PS5. I was quite confused when i successfully transferred the games but not the files based on info from other tutorials. I can't believe Playstation needs us to tell the cloud or a separate drive to transfer the Saved Files as well as Game Data - Duh! But thanks for this friend!
