I just got diagnosed with a spinal tumor a couple of days ago. It's crazy how we find that inspiration to keep fighting right when we need it most. We need more music like this. Thank you guys, for writing this song. It's been inspiring me to not lose hope

This song is super under appreciated. Maybe it is not what MMF usually drops but this song is a strong message for people like myself who are suffering and find medication in music. This song actually saved my life when I was thinking about ending it all last year. I was always kinda lone wolf because of music I listened to and the way I wasn’t participating in any of activities that my peers usually were interested in. And last year I was going through depression mixed with personal problems as well as family problems and money problems while my grandma who basically raised me, while my mom was working to provide for the family, was in hospital fighting for her life and my mom getting robbed the same day. I was sitting in my room in the flat on the other side of the ocean without any chance to go back home to help my mom and mixed with all the other reasons and some alcohol I was actually ready to end it all by taking a fatal dose of medication with alcohol. But then as I was sitting and looking at the bottle of pills this song started playing. So there I was, sitting, half drunk and thinking about killing myself listening to this song. By the end of it I was crying like a little baby and I cried for couple of hours straight. But after a while things started to get better. By the middle of this year all the things were back to normal and I am extremely happy I didn’t do what I was planning to. Even to this day when I feel down - I listen to this song and it helps me a lot.

@@griffisjm thanks for your concern mate. Happy to tell you: yes, I am doing great. My life changed almost completely since I wrote this comment 3 something years ago. I no longer suffer from depression (and I beat it without any medication, just meditation, breathing exercises and lots of music). I am the happiest I ever was in my life. I’m the strongest mentally and the most stable emotionally in my life as well. Having a great job, found a couple of real friends, adopted 2 cats from shelter and about to try and pursue a goal I had for the last couple of years. Hope you are also doing good?

devin priddy It kind of annoys me how everyone hates on band for changing their style. Yet, all of the songs they sing all have a meaning. Music changes. People need to get over it. I personally love all of their songs because they're so deep. Music is a lot more than just drum beats and screaming.
Actually, no. I cannot recall thinking that people needed removal away from our need to be critical. Criticism that causes musicians and artists to be diverse and keep them from falling into the hole of commonness instead of people mindlessly praising their generic music. That is so fucking stupid. Giving artists freedom when expressing themselves is one thing, but to accept EVERYTHING they create just because they happen to be the artist doesn't move my heart one fucking bit.

Shoving your feelings down til you explode doesn’t lead to success. It’s actually causes the opposite. Understanding you can’t always be happy is something a lot of people learn about, once they better understand that they can then try to do better.

I care if it is cliché. Unoriginality is the one thing that forces music to become stale and bitter. Painting or disguising it doesn't make it any better. EVERY musician can write a generic song and put a positive message in it (not everyone will do so because of different motivations etc.). It doesn't make it excusable. It doesn't make it charity unless the profits for this song actually goes to charity (which I highly doubt). Let us not pretend that holding up a sign that says "IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY" in front of a camera makes music automatically good.
Going through tough times myself. Its hard to see light at the end of the tunnel. Songs like this helps a person get through it.

This song is great, honestly I love what MMF is doing. It's a shame people can't see past "what they want" in a band and respect the lyrics that are behind this song. Matty is obviously writing what is on his heart. Thank you for this song MMF!

I used to love this band and I don’t have a problem with what they are doing I just miss their songs from the hollow and challenger where the lyrics were more open to interpretation where as a lot of their later stuff I feel I’m getting religion jammed down my throat which makes it hard for me as an atheist to enjoy. Really needed to hear this today...we all go through hardships and have pain in some way but we all have to remember God is for us so who can be against us? We all need each other in some way to help one another get through life...love is our true nature and we must love our neighbors as we love ourselves cause you never know if the person beside is going through the same pain as yourself. Whoever is reading this...i love you and the God of this universe loves you. even if it seems like he's a million miles away he is right beside you pushing you forward to finish the race called life. The devil puts the sick thoughts in our heads putting us down because he has already lost...why not try to take everyone else down with him? Fight the good fight... When Matty writes something about his faith like this i always get emotional and tear up simply because I know that I am incapable of having the strength of the faith he has and I wish that I could. But that's just life.
I absolutely lose it every time I hear this song. I found this song and didn't even realize they served the Lord. After surrendering my own life to the father in heaven I realized they served as well. I know now it was the Lord working on me through this song during a time of much pain mentally, physically, and spiritually. Still have times of struggling as we all do but its through truth that we find peace and rest. Thanking the Lord for you guys. Growing up bipolar adhd and ptsd and anxiety since age 5, I feel this. There are broken people in this world who have been through a level of hell no other man has been to. We live in a society not built for us

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I am doing a lot better today. I'm currently in remission right now from the Crohn's and I'm just living life! It will have its up and downs but we'll always have to make the best of it. I know I don't know you personally but if you ever need anything, hit me up. i have been struggling a lot. I have severe anxiety and i get panic attacks almost daily. I know all I have to do is accept life. But its so hard. I believe deeply in God. But i feel like im going to be condemned. I feel like I could never amount to his glory. My panic attacks usually come from feeling that Ive done something wrong. I know i have done so many things wrong. and im so sorry to God, and everyone for my mistakes. But i feel condemned to repeat them. I just pray that I might have mercy. I feel this makes me a weak person and someone not worthy of the blessings and glory of God. Or the love of others. Im so scared of death. and what might happen. and i feel that being confused and having no conviction or assertion in my beliefs makes me weak. There was a time in life where music came out and there wasnt instant critics of people who have no musical experience whatsoever. We just had to buy the albums and listen for ourselves. Ive listened to plenty of albums or even watched movies all the "critics" told me sucked ass but I liked it myself. This is Life. don't let others think for you. As someone who's suffered from multiple mental health issues since childhood, this song brings a tear to my eye. Sounds cliche,but it gives me hope. Most of MMF's songs speak to me,but this one especially. I just want to say that if you're reading this and you're unhappy or whatever, things will be okay. Maybe not today, tomorrow,or next month but they will be eventually. Thanks to God and music I am surviving life ❤
Watched this and I’m crying! All my insecurities and struggles should be forgotten! I’ve been beaten for standing up for my friends and other people! I hate seeing other people get hurt but I don’t care if I get hurt! I’ve been hurt so much that I honestly don’t care anymore, but when I see someone else getting hurt, it crushes me to bits, j try to focus on the future and not the present way to much, and I just pray that God is helping everyone through there tough times! The amount of pure emotion poured into this song is unreal, and beautiful. I've listened to this song a thousand times, sang it a hundred, and still cry every time. These are issues of our real world. These are the things that "normal people" don't want to face. We are all ruined in some way or another. But it's not our ruins that define us, it's the rebuilding and connections that make us who we choose to become. It hurts my heart to see all this trifle, and agression everywhere, it's all so avoidable if we kind of just see the silver lining. All this violence, it comes from a place of fear, fear of people. Come together and show people that they have nothing to fear in life. Even if you start small, it is still a difference

And I'm not debating their existence. I 100% believe they exist. Just like you said in a realm of existence outside of this world. And I don't believe they care about us (humanity) the way people claim they do. I'm not looking for you to try to change my beliefs, not do I wish to change yours. I believe in letting everyone believe what they will, so long as they are good people. I don't judge others for their beliefs. If it's something that helps you to help others all the better. My main issue with most religions, not just Christians, is their thought that "this is the truth and the world must believe it" and that they judge others for not following their same beliefs. I just like to learn why others believe as they do because it intrigues me. Because we all believe something. Many simply because they were raised to. Others through experiences they've had. Ok yes Chester's passing was, well saying very upsetting is an understatement, but don't post that on a MMF song they are, in my opinion, no way the same. Now don't get me wrong I love LP, and probably was the most distraught about Chester's passing for a guy who has never seen them in concert, but there is a time and place for everything, and this doesn't belong here.
I'm not fan of this band, but the music is great and the video is exciting. I've identified myself at various times, but it also shows me that we need to hope for better days and that it's okay not to be okay. Thank you Memphis May Fire!

This has me in tears. not a lot of people understand the beauty in each video, album, song, lyric and art cover. Many people in this comment section focus too much on how heavy it is and whether it's "cliché" or not. It's perfectly alright to state that you prefer 'The Hollow' or 'Challenger' and so on and so forth, but don't disrespect the work they've put together. A lot of people (such as myself) love listening to their new work and often at times tremble in happiness, simply because we know we're not alone in these situations. Please be a person to create a positive impact.

Ok, so I am guessing all the people bitching this isn't heavy enough either have never had to struggle in life with whatever it may be so you don't get that maybe this song isn't meant to be heavy or all about matty mullins bitching about shit and preaching...Maybe it is meant to be inspirational and helpful to those of us who do have issues...you know get ya in the feels, make you feel some hope. Or you are just a sad little person who only listens to hardcore shit because you have to pretend to be the badass tough metal guy so know one knows you might actually have feelings and emotions too.
