@Alex Cyriac Yes, the Israeli's won the initial war, but they keep encroaching.
I'm American, but if I were king of the world, I would force Israel to give back -some- land, and I would also give Hamas a spanking for being terrorists.

@@PiecefulKaos overall your logic is correct but you are missing key details in relation to this particular conflict
      1. Israel completely withdrew from gaza back in 2005 they no longer occupy that area, it was done as an attempt to kick start peace negotiations, however, that area was taken over by hamas who is firing rockets at israel.
      2. Hamas does not recognise israel as a state and openly calls for the genocide of jews ( you can find it easily online)
      3. Would you be willing to give further land and strategic points to a group of people who wishes your death and took advantage of it in the past to fire rockets at you?
      4. Negotiation of a two state solution were offered 5 times by israel and were met with decline, you are dealing with a group of people that have the mentality of "all or nothing" how do you make peace with a group like that?
      5. The Palestinians are far from innocent in terms of how they treat jews, in times before the "occupation" or the state of israel, assaults on jewish settlements occurred very often (read about the hebron massacre 1929)
      6. The assumption that the weaker side is just is incorrect, there is no virtue in weakness, israel fought for these lands against 5 nations including the Palestinians and won just like any other nation in the world
      7. Look up how minorities in dominant Muslim states are treated vs how arabs are treated in israel (you'll find shocking disparities)
      8. It is unreasonable to expect the jews to just get up and leave this area especially since they're the ones who built it from nothing (that land was literally filled with swamps and desserts)
In conclusion, peace will come to that area once the Palestinians admit defeat, recognise israel as a state, negotiate for a state of their own and work together with israel, if they are so inclined to use violence to achieve their goals, they are free to do that but as the saying goes "you live by the sword, you die by the sword"

I think this type of thinkingl is keeping its own people hostage. There were tens of millions of people displaced after World War 1 and 2. What most people don’t know or care to do research about, is the fact that a lot of Palestinian (not Britain, but Palestinians) land owners sold their land to Jewish people for 10x the average rate for land at the time. When more and more Jewish people were buying land, the Palestinians started to get upset. They wanted those Jewish people to give the land back, for nothing in return. The Jewish people said no, because they now owned the land, LEGALLY. So, it sparked a war. The Jewish people were severely outnumbered, but they had very good intelligence officers and were able to strategically win the war in 1948 WITHOUT the help of anyone else. The world was like, “I’m not getting involved in that”, and Israel was alone in the fight. Israel has tried over 5 times to offer a two state solution to the Palestinians, and they refuse every time. Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005 and completely left them alone, to manage their own government. The Palestinians living in Israel would rather live with Jews in Israel than go live in Gaza under the rule of Hamas, because Israeli’s lives with them peacefully. I’m making Aliyah to Israel next spring, and I just hope in the future that a peaceful solution can be agreed upon. I think everyone just wants to live in peace and most Jews are willing to do that if the Palestinians will just agree to live together, peacefully.

The fact that he has not been slaughtered, even though the Jews have the military might to accomplish this in a few days, makes no impression upon him. There's plenty more in this video.

This is why they all still carry their great-grandfather's house keys. The other interviewees are not so straightforward, which is why you get the evasions which seem so comical to western ears, e.g. at 0:36, when he is asked what you would lose if you surrendered, and gives a list of things which he has already lost, plus one thing which was actually given to him by Israel (area A) in a treaty.

As an immigrant to America, the first lesson I learned as a child was that life was not fair. Over time, I learned that with money life became more fair and an important part of the learning was how and when to negotiate. I have heard several prominent as well as the average Palestinians talk about fairness as if it was an entitlement. While I sympathize with the plight of the Palestinians, I find the responses to these interviews simply frustrating and incomprehensible, leaving me with the feeling that nothing can be done to resolve this situation. Maybe the only thing for America to do is back away and do nothing.

@opener of the world i did watch it, and i’m an egyptian habibi, but you didn’t answer my question. Where were the other arab leaders for sadats funeral? Where were the israelis? I know you know the answer: the arabs didn’t bother even sending a delegation, absolutely disrespectful. The israeli’s and even americans attended it. I don’t live in the past i learn from it. My allies of yesterday can stab me in the back tomorrow and my enemy today may be the one who pulls it out.
It is much more politically, strategically and economically advantageous for egypt to align itself more and more with israel. Sadat was a visionary in this aspect of his goals of egypts future. If anything he was too ahead of the times he lived in.

@@danfriedman2556 both of our governments at different points in time had leaders who abused our trauma’s from the past (h***c**t for my jewish cousins, European/ottoman colonialism for us) for their own gain and to build their own popularity domestically.
Yitzhak and sadat’s killers respectively are a good example of why we both are better off closer than apart.
What’s really sad is the amount of blood on our hands that we can never wash away regardless of either side feeling justified.
