It’s true-potatoes are a staple on our tables, but many don’t realize the hard work and steps behind growing them. What's your favorite way to enjoy potatoes?
It wasn't until i was 10 minutes in i realised it was about potatoes, i couldn't work with you all day, such a distraction lol, great vids and keep em cold ,keep em bold😊
Potatoes were one of my first garden crops. It gave me such pleasure to harvest them and use them in the kitchen. Now that I am following a low carb / keto genic lifestyle and have a handle on managing my metabolism, the potato is just a memory of a garden crop.
Most people do not understand the amount of work it takes to grow, harvest, clean and store potatoes. AND showing its hard, labor intensive work. They think potatoes "magically" appear in the bags and bins at the grocery store. Thanks for helping educate the masses !
I have been driving forklifts for 10 years now, and this is the first time I have ever seen a bucket on any. I like how you explain the process in what you all do. Good stuff.
@@BellsFarming Oh I am learning lots from you guys. I like learning how farming is in different areas. I know where Maine is, but that is it. So, it is nice to see what you produce.
Im a new subscriber. Really enjoyed this video. Never realized how much work goes into potato farming. You're the prettiest tater farmer i believe ive ever seen! Thanks for the video!
Very interesting Molly. Thanks to your great videos I am now more educated and impressed about how much work and effort goes into growing and delivering potatoes to market. Good job to you all!
I just found your channel a few days ago. Your videos are well done and very informative and interesting, plus you have a very likable personality. Have since subscribed and binge watched all of your videos. Thanks for sharing your and your husbands farming adventures.
Thank you so much for the really nice comment! That makes me very happy to hear! I did the same thing for a couple of channels I found too. Thank you very much for watching and subscribing, I should have a new video out soon, been busy with thanksgiving potato orders 💚
my dad was a big beef cattle farmer when i was young. He use to give the steers the left over potatoes and chips from herrs potatoes' chips factory with string beans from Hanover and cookies and molasse's with left over malt liquor from Michters Distillery in Newmanstown. It was a huge feedlot operation at the time. I learned alot then and will never forget.
Pretty cool of you explaining all the processes that go on behind the scene. Who would have known. A lot of work goes into what you do. Much appreciated from your farm to the kitchen table. Keep up the good work! 👍
This takes me back to the early 80's... I was 13, 14 or so moving pipe in South Eastern Idaho all summer, then come spud harvest, we'd all do whatever we could or had to do, I think I had done it all until I seen this video, but I did drive machinery, help grade and pull cull, drive many loads to the CO-OP with no power steering, an AM radio and weather that included snow in September and mud in October and I don't recall anything as cute as you in all of the time I spent in those fields, thanks for the memory jog
I have been watching footage of grain farming as that is what my family has done but, I was interested in seeing how other crops are farmed. Like others we gardened potatoes and it is nothing like farming them full time. I have watched a few of your videos now and I am impressed with how you have done so many different jobs. To my eye you have excelled at each. My mother and sisters were not involved with the farm work and I wish that they had as I think that that would have been a good thing. We were all involved in the gardens and the chicken and pigs I believe. Being a full participant in the farm like you are is wonderful to see. Thank you for providing an incite into this and giving my memories of my youth a boost!!
Thank you for the compliment, I do really love what I am learning and hope maybe it will inspire others to do the same. I’m glad I was able to spark some good memories! Thank you for watching!
Just found your channel and subscribed! This brought back memories from my childhood, picking and later (when I was old enough) working on harvesters during potato season in Aroostook County. Planting, irrigation, harvesting, storage, and selection sure has changed over the years but the hard-working people who bring spuds to the table have not. Definitely watching more videos. Thanks!!
Love potatoes!❤ especially Love the big ones! My dad grew them many years ago and we had so much fun digging them out of the ground. I Love potatoes boiled, fried, stewed don't matter.😋
This is a fascinating video and all however I think thems some of the best looking potatoes I’ve ever seen. built like a brick chicken house is an understatement i’d say farmer Bell got the prize when he brought that little girl home👍😊

Very interesting process. When I was a kid we grew our own potatoes, 6 to 10 rows, I recall eating the small ones, when we dug them up, after rubbing off the soil on my cloths, yum, yum. Yep stored in cellar. Thanks for sharing how its done on the BIG scale. At 79 I still Love them cooked all different ways.
We did that too with a exactly same model forklift, then we went to box storage . Much cleaner operation and less bruising. The downside is of course the weather cover one needs for the empty boxes. Cheers from a Finnish potato farm.
if only i could get potatoes from there... awesome channel molly thanks for sharing. my garden potato harvest was barely a 5 gallon pail and mostly little ones.
Wow,,, back in the 80s when I was 15 to 18 yrs old I shoveled (with big pitchfork type shovels)the potatoes out those kind of bins. lol, that and ran a bagger at the end of the line. Had to weight, twist wire close and stack. That was some hard but satisficing work back in the day.
