  • In this video I show how I route the wiring for the Garmin Zumo GPS from the front of my 2022 Triumph Tiger to the rear where I connect it to a power source under the rear seat.

      @@ADV-Rider-Dude hi I bought one before my Norway trip and use it on the sat-nav yes I can be a bit slow on powering up your device you may even be moving before it starts to power up but I usually power up my Sat-Nav before moving off so I don’t have to wait but I personally think it’s a awesome peace of kit 👍🏍👍🏍

    What is the wire puller/pusher thing called. The thing you use to get the wires to go between the fairings?

      @ADV-Rider-Dude  2 месяца назад

      Hi. If you just Google 'cable puller tool's you will get the right results.

    Isn’t the power from the port near the TFT sufficient for the GPS ?

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  3 месяца назад

      It is if you want to keep plugging it in all the time. I would not wire it in there though. Modern bikes are very sensitive to that type of thing and would most likely throw up an error.

    Dear @Alan Simpson, realy helpful video. Just one question, chan you share with us the kind of connector that Triumph use to connect USB ? I try to find hit in google without result. Many thanks . Marco

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  Год назад +1

      Hey Marco. Do you mean the connector that the phone connection under the seat connects to the bike? If so then no. Sorry mate. At first I just connected my wiring to the din plug wiring but then replaced it later with a Thunderbox solution which I show in my next video.
      Actually - I just looked at my Ebay history and I think this is the part www.ebay.com.au/itm/324377039107 .
      You will also need some of these: www.ebay.com.au/itm/324376995481
      Just so you know - I did not use this solution in the end.

    Alan, I been watching your videos with interest, I have a Garmin Zumo 595, but how have you managed to hide all those cables in the channel?
    I understand the power routing but there’s no way I can fit my cables, any help is appreciated.
    Trevor

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  Год назад

      Hi. Did you open up the little space where the front indicators are? I fitted the Garmin box in there with a bit of spare cable length. Maybe the box of the 595 is larger than the XT? I had to shift it around quite a bit to find a spot for it that allowed me to close it up again. It was not easy from what I remember. It's a real pity that the box isn't further down the cable. Perhaps another solution is to insert more cable between the Garmin and the box so that the box can go under the seat somewhere? That was going to be my next option if the box did not fit where I have it now.

      @@ADV-Rider-Dude Cheers for your reply, I guess it’s a different set-up with regards to the cables. I reckon I’ll have to remove the covers and route it afterwards.

    Did you cut one end off of the power cord, to hard wire to the battery right? (Pos/Neg) to connect to the terminals? I'm hardwiring to the battery, both my phone and also a Sat Nav...and I'm assuning I'll have to cut the end off, split the wires into Pos and Neg...then connect to the terminals (or a Thunderbox actually).

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  Год назад

      Hi - I'm not sure what you mean by cutting off one end of the power cord. I did lengthen it so that I did not have to drag the power adapter through the bike.
      I did end up using a Thunderbox and you can see that in one of my later videos.

      I eventually installed a Healtech Thunderbox under the seat. That took care of my power needs. I'm looking at installing an EZCan in the future though.

    Hi, I have to connect a Chigee screen with Apple Car Play, I have a red positive cable, a black negative cable and a yellow earth cable. can I connect everything to the passenger din socket cables which in theory are locked? thanks, I accept advice
    I need a voltage between 11 -14 volts to make the dash cams work and the USB one on the phone only has just 5 volts right?

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. I have another video where I install a Thunderbox for power. It's a better solution than reusing the din plug circuit. Not sure why you have 3 wires though. I've never heard of an earth wire for DC on a motorcycle. Maybe look at your instructions again.
      That kit you have looks very interesting though. I will look into it for myself. Good luck mate.

    • @ADV-Rider-Dude
      @ADV-Rider-Dude  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi - I just watched another video on the product. It looks like the yellow wire is similar to the white wire on the Healtech Thunderbox. It seems that the wire is used to fire up the device the moment you switch your ignition on so you wire it up to a circuit that is linked to the ignition.
      How did you get one of them so early, it looks like they are only shipping in Feb? Obviously you know the right people. Looks like a number of influences have them already. Pity my channel is so small.

      The connection of this device must be
      Positive = Yellow
      Negative = Black
      ACC = Red
      Does anyone have a photo of the female rear 12v aux socket connector that appears in this video, please, I'm developing a cable so I don't need the Thunder Box
