Very well done. I have done it all right but skipped the microwave drying and the bowls shrank and blew up later. Great how to video with minimal but appropriate explanations.
Looks like pecan I’ve turned some green it really turns nice I’ve turned them thin to keep from warping it cracking pretty good luck some say leave it thick I’ve done it both ways sometime good luck.
Hello there. I appreciate the video. I'm a newb as well. I've turned a whopping 3 bowls to date, and will be picking up my first lathe this week. I've shyed away from green wood, because I don't want to wait months, and months, and months for it to dry out, even though green wood is so much easier to work with. I've got the microwave time, as you showed it to be 1 minute or so. What is the time lapse of sitting it outside, or did I miss that?
@@thomasdamwoodworking8509 So, should the bowl return to room temperature before putting it back in the microwave? I do the process using microowave and freezer but the bowl it seems not stopping losing weight and cracks have formed. Heeeelp! :D
Really nice. Love the wrinkle in the natural edge. It takes a good eye to see the potential and plan accordingly. 😎👍👏
Hello, very nice bowl. Which kind of oil do you use? Thanks

Turned out beautiful. I’m new to the wood turning game, this is great inspiration.
No cracks?😮
Looks beautiful...what wood is that? Trying to figure it out but no idea...not boxelder, not juniper and not cherry...
In danish, it's called "mirabelle" :-)

I microwaved a bowl recently and several cracks developed. Any thoughts on how to prevent that from happening?
i started turning in march. i do tree work so there's plenty of green wood. thanks for sharing the drying method. well done!
amazing, can you say more about the tool position on 5:11 min? IS that dangerous for a catch? Thanks
It's called shear scraping, can be a bit dangerous ;-)
Lovely bowl. I like the old school microwave, now I want a burrito.
Beautiful bowl, nice live edge. Love the color in the wood.

Hi Phillip
The bowl need to cool down, the time depends on your bowl weight 😉
@@thomasdamwoodworking8509 ahhhh, gotcha. Thanks
