    You have a good dad!
    Shout out to all dads out there who teach their sons fishing hunting, car fixing or whatever else you may be into! Your sons will be great dads and great men in our society! We need more of dads who participate in life of their children!

    After years of watching. I was lucky enough to get to meet Aron at smokin tuna in key west. It’s not often that what you see is what you get. The definition of a class act. A memory I will never forget with my parents and I. The man embodies everything I love about the Florida Keys. Aron you make this world a better place and keep doing what you do. You make so many people have hope and happiness. Wish you the best. Thanks for the memories. Spear on brother

    I don’t have any sons but my dad always took me fishing regardless if it was fresh or salt. We lived in KeyWest and up and down the east coast since he was a navy man. I have two daughters and both understand fishing because I always took them and even now we go bass fishing and catfish fishing. It’s a love and respect of the outdoors that you pass on when you take the time to show them. 😎

    At 21:30, I'd fish that point in front of your boat where the current tails away from the mangrove island tip. Lomg casts just upstream from the point and let the current take your bait to the point. Try a popping cork to keep the bait in the strike zone also.

    I love exploring new places where I don’t have the first idea of how and where the fish are, or what the best techniques and locations.
    If limited on time, I will hire a guide to quick start the process and get the lay of the water. I can be happy catching anything in new spots, and also learning where the fish aren’t. What I find really cool as a “Tourist “, is playing dumb and fishing in places where none of the locals will fish, and I have had some unbelievable catches from spots that nobody fishes, and I’m just a lucky angler.
    Many popular tourist places don’t get heavy serious local angler pressure .
    That resort looks like the kind of place that appeals to me and my family and friends, really appreciate you sharing your spot.
    Enjoy some relaxation time with your people.

    Snook tip from Tampa Bay, live chum is your best friend. Get em fired up almost any time/tide. You just need a lot of bait. Additionally, rarely do I use anything other than a bare hook and 30lb mono. If I need weight I’ll use a split shot at the top of my leader.

    I have been to Lajolla a few times over the last 10 yrs and it is a great place! It def is a feel for the Old Fla Keys. The location is great bc you are right in the middle of Islamorada and near everything you need as far as grocery stores restaurants bars etc… I usually fish out of Bud n Mary’s marina so its very convenient for that. Its by far one of the nicest resorts in Islamorada. 👍👍 from me for sure!😎

    Love fishing with my dad and I miss the heck out of fishing with my mom that has passed. For the snook if you can, size down on the setups. For a small reel for inshore take a look at Daiwa BG MQ 3000’s, they have 24 lbs of drag. 10 or 15 lb main line max and 20-30 lb leader. 7 foot medium action rod 8-15lb rated. I land 30in snook regularly and have my personal best of 43 inches on that size set up. They are extremely smart and have good eye sight. If they see that line at all it’s game over! The invite is always open to go for them if you’re ever in charlotte harbor area

    I’m dying watching you wear that cast net like a jacket. That’s confidence bc after one throw you will be soaked if you load the net like that again. Y’all use huge nets in Florida. I just use a 5’ net for mullet or shad.

    • @keywestdonor6954
      @keywestdonor6954 7 месяцев назад

      He loaded that net like that multiple times. The key is to make sure you shake it off really really good before you load it the second time. For that reason, I personally prefer the left-hand underhand throw.

    I find snook are shy. If you can see them they’re really tough to get to bite. The other thing is you can present your bait 99 times and there’s not even a reaction and on the 100th time they hammer the bait. I always did my best at night. They’re definitely night feeders. Persistence , persistence , persistence ! Good luck !
