Dude love your videos. The fact that every large fish you catch you shake with excitement every time, makes watching the videos so much more enjoyable.
I like the kayak and sandbar camping because it’s relatable. I watch pig patrol both Josh and Tyler for the same reasons. Not that I’m hating on guys with boats, I have one that runs sometimes lol. This is the kind of fishing most people can go do.
Started canoe fishing small rivers in Illinois 40 years ago. Bought a kayak 9 years ago and have only used the canoe once. Love fishing out of that thing!
For anchoring, I use an old iron window weight rigged to drop off the back of the kayak. The line runs along the side through guides to an in-line cleat. It's easy to anchor upstream of brush piles. If I want to get closer, I just let out a little more line.
I'm glad too see you back on the yak Spencer. You're the original kayak guy I started watching....then I found that kayak catfisherman feller😂 I watch and like you both equally
Nice setup. Your videos are what got me catfishing out of a kayak. I got an old town top water 120 pdl. Put some yak power blue lights on the inside and white in the rear with nav lights up front. Yak power switch panel, depth finder and a few other upgrades. Its been a fun project. Anchored up for Flatheads or drifting for blues, it's always a good time.
Great video and a nice catch! That was a dandy. I thank you for the tutorial. I've never been in a kayak before. It was very interesting for me. You do good work! God bless all here!
The one log leg one handed kayak grab balance act was pure artistry! I use a 3 pound foldable anchor. Sometimes when on a bank like that I just wedge it on the bank. Not in the water. Amazon has several types.
Huge fan here of the R C channel. I hope to get a chance to fish with you one day, sir! I was hoping you would mention your bank fishing rod holders in a video at some point id like to get the same kind or make them if need be. I've been eyeballing them since i started watching your videos several years ago. As always HOPE YOU CATCH A GIANT! 😉👉
I love watching your kyack fishing videos!! Would really like to see a video how you get back upstream from one of your trips when your by yourself. Or do you have someone waiting for you to give you a ride back to your truck?
GREAT flatty man!!!! And THANK YOU for taking the time to go over your Kayak, and gear setup, APPRECIATE IT!!!! BEST OF LUCK on the next one, and GOD BLESS ALL!!!!👍😊🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for another great video. Thanks for showing us your Kayak it was very informative. Sure was a nice Flathead you caught. Stay safe and God bless you and yours.😊😊😊😊
I just filmed my first Kayak Catfishing video and it was probably my favorite day of fishing I’ve had in a long time. I managed a couple channels and a hog smallmouth. First time catching a smallmouth bass on a catfish rig 🤣
Awesome setup man and great flattie. I’m the same way when it comes to clutter I can’t stand it. Personally love your kayak sandbar camping videos the best. Keep up the good work man!
I highly recommend the Bonafide SS127. Plenty of room on the deck, plenty of storage, extremely stable and the most comfortable seat for a kayak I’ve had.
I’m glad you made this video I just got one just for catfishing that’s my passion big flatheads but I like catching all of them any information I can get helps because kayaking is new to me
12:30 I have a little tip, for that. When they bite, give just a little bit of pressure to the side, and wait a few seconds. It should make them pull away from the pressure, and of you follow them, just a smidge, they should turn enough to slide the hook over.
Pulling big fish out of brushpiles is absolutely amazing! Your videos doing that are insane, love it. Cool kayak tips, the coolers fit perfectly, do you have a little anchor for it?
It's a great way to get the heart pumping. It's a totally different experience. I have an anchor but don't use it in current. The kayak sways a lot and feels less stable.
I know how you feel . I can pack my sxs the same way . Wife says I have a place for everything and it’s always just so. I have a Talon so it to has limited space . I really do like your Kayak its one I could get right in and fish ! Nice boat also ,well hey keep it real it’s what makes your channel. Good luck !
Hey man, not related to the kayak but when you edit your videos and you’re just about to catch one and you add in a little bit of that electric piano then pause it for a few seconds then add another little tone and again building the suspense then the beat drops right when you hook up those are bad ass man 💯 that’s great little edit thing you do for us
Are those stealth rod holders? If so, did you cut the cam straps on em? I use Stealth rod holders on my Cresent Ultralite, love em...So easy to grab a rod and kept my rods secure on 2 flips. I original got em to keep from scaring up my jdm bait casters as the stealth holders hold em without any wiggling. as i found out pretty good overall rod holder as well.
I love kayak fishing! The only negative thing about a kayak is the wind. I live in Nebraska where it is always windy, same as Iowa though. How do you deal with the wind when kayak fishing?

Hey Spencer I have a question. First off I love your videos! Keep em coming! I use all bait caster round reels for catfishing and use mono. And I have all Zebco 33’s for bait and pan fishing. I’ve never really used spinning reel but got a brand new spinning rod gave to me and just ordered a spinning reel for it. What’s better braid or mono for a light spinning rig? Thanks! 🙏🏼 🎣
I have a Shoalie as well. How did you wire the fish finder? Do you usually keep the seat in the high or low position? I’m having trouble making the seat comfortable. Thanks
And - he- SCORES!!! Nice flathead!! Don't mess with storms/lightning on water, not worth it. As always, kayak information is worth it's weight in gold to newbies and veterans alike!! Thanks again!!!
Hello Spencer, I have a small boat. Not a kayak, but pretty darn close. It’s a 1961 dura craft aluminum John boat, 36” x 14’. The kicker is that it’s tight as a drum in really great shape, came with a trailer, the original and again in really great shape. $450 bucks and it’s mine. Oh, and it came with a little 12 volt trolling motor also pretty darn old. Anyway, we have a small flooded timber lake and it’s said to have some pretty good sized big uglies and blues. I haven’t had it in the water except to test it out. I’m hoping that I can set it up similar to a kayak, your opinion?
Thanks for the informative videos. I recall you had motorized your kayak in the past, but that seemed short-lived. Did you not find that very helpful, or do you think it made things downright dangerous?
I think "voracious" was the word you were looking for. Nice video as always. Did you do much kayaking when you were in FL? I want to kayak the saltwater river near me and I see others do it, but not being from here, I keep thinking a dolphin or manatee will bump into me by accident and I can't get past it lol
Hey Spencer! I may have missed it but can you stand up in that kayak and feel comfortable? I want to find a good kayak I can stand up in along with the extra storage and weight capacity you mentioned
That's one thing I found or have learned, I guess, but using livebait, bluegills and such, in waters where there's flatheads and channels, but a lot of times the daggone channels will grab a bait, crush it and spit it right back out, even dadgum bullheads, heck even their own kind too, their not too picky or whatever when it comes to that. But most of the times the bigger channels you can catch, usually. I don't know where you're fishing at but some of the waters I've fished around here, central KY, will hold channels from 10 to 17-18 lbs, I don't mind the channels when they get that size, pretty good fight too, on any outfit. Anyways, good deal bud, as always! Haha, I see your getting my kind of tan, farmers tan, well generally when I get tanned that's what it is.
What's the length on your kayak? I am 6'4" and 210lbs. I have just started looking at kayaks for river and small lake fishing. And it wouldn't be a comment of mine if I didn't add a GO CUBS GO to it.

Great video Spencer! I took your advice and put zig zag cletes on our Kayaks a few years back. Definitely a must have imo 💯🤘
I just have a cheap pelican I got 4 years ago. I put a 20 dollar Walmart stadium seat on. Having the extra room under the seat is the best thing ever.
I'm glad too see you back on the yak Spencer. You're the original kayak guy I started watching....then I found that kayak catfisherman feller😂 I watch and like you both equally
