    Also an E208 GT owner and a member of various Facebook owners groups, i was epecting your video to feature persistent faults, on board charger faults and the Rear Wiring harness fault that people are posting about nearly everyday in the Peugeot e208 Owners groups, was nice to see thats not affected you, and so far not me either yet

    I Love this review. Thank you for a great insight into what we do not usually hear in reviews.
    I placed my order in March 2022 and hoped for delivery July 2022. So your experience over the past 2 years is invaluable insight for me as a new customer to Peugeot.
    Please keep up this good work and congratulations on the high quality of this review.

    What a fantastic informative review. I’ve just ordered one (GT in Elixir Red) on my company salary sacrifice scheme to use mainly as our second car. Delivery 18-20 weeks though as in high demand. We only do a daily commute of 15-20 miles so will probably only need to charge weekly or so. We’ll be down the Valley of the Rocks next weekend (coming from North Somerset) - one of our favourite places in the world!

    I’ve had my 2022 e-208 GT Premium as soon as it was available, I love the car, the only issues I have is the reported mileage is not at all accurate and if I drive at 56mph I just about get what the quoted mileage, the actual mileage is about 30 miles less than the quoted figures. I work in Bristol and stay in bath which is up and down landscape, it does have a big effect on mileage.

    Thanks for doing a 2yr update. I have only seen videos of the car as a first time review. So this video helps. What I can’t sense from your 2yr review is if you love, like or dislike the car. If you had to do it all over again would you buy the e208 over the competition? Are you happy with the car? I’m seriously thinking about buying it for my every day driver. Thank you.

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +2

      They are a great car. You do have to remember that they are a classed as a city car. For what I need driving my commute every day with just me it does it brilliantly. I’m 6ft tall and getting in and out does have a knack to it. Doing the occasional longer adventure is no problem charging up to 80% in 30mins. I chose it at the time because it looked cooler than a lot of the others and it changed fast at a decent rate and battery size / range, plus I could spec it with adaptive cruise. The car does have some niggles which are mainly software problems. There is an issue when charging from home solar - which Peugeot are aware of and trying to resolve.

    • @vtthesuccessfinder
      @vtthesuccessfinder 2 года назад +3

      Thank you for the detailed response! I love the way it looks way more than anything in its class as well. I would mostly use it for in town driving. We live in a small town in Portugal and would charge it in the garage. I should have asked if we could do long road trips with it. Not too concerned with the comfort but more of would it be feasible to charge going from city to city.

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +1

      I do roads trips here in the uk - it all depends on where the rapid chargers are. The best website / app I’ve found is www.abetterrouteplanner.com

    Thank you for the review, very useful.
    I disagree with the use of cheaper tires - they will be the same until you really need them in an emergency. You already noted that the tire width is quite modest for the weight of the car, so a good quality tire will make corning better, will be better in the wet, often much better in the cold (though no substitute for something like a crossclimate++) for braking with brake distances being up to 10 meters different for a A class to C class.

    Hi, Are you still driving the e208? I really enjoyed your videos. I bought a GT Premium in March 2022, so coming up for two years. Only problem has been a fix to the drop link on the rollbar. Wish I had gone for the glass roof when I see yours. I took mine off the showroom floor, so that option wasn't there. Very pleased overall, but I do a lot less miles than you.
    best wishes David

    What's the battery range like for mixed driving? And differences in the allure and gt models?

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +2

      That’s a tricky one as I don’t do much mixed driving. My driving is mainly commuting to work. A roads and dual carriageway / motorways with the hilly Devon terrain added into the mix. I normally get about 130 miles (winter) to almost 200 miles in the summer.
      As for the specs you would need to check on the Peugeot website as they are changing them slightly all the time. The latest version without the cobra shift mode selector are supposed to be slightly better on efficiency but I haven’t driven one so I can’t confirm 🤔

  • @AdamConnelly15

    Thanks for all the E 208 videos. What is the average mileage per charge ? What are the best mode to get the most range ?

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад

      Average mileage per charge - vary’s between 130miles in a winter and 200miles in the summer.
      Best mode for range - keep it in normal and stick to the speed limit. Going above 70mph really zaps the power. ECO mode - I don’t really use it, it switches off the aircon / heater and doesn’t seem to add much range.

    Thanks for this nice video. I was wondering, what about the battery health, the capacity after 2 years ? I just ordered an e208, the seller told me after 3 years I could expect a capacity of 99%. I don’t know if it’s true…

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +1

      I’m not sure about the battery health as there is no easy way of telling. The Tronity app has a go at predicting it based on the predicted range (but it’s only a guide). Best thing to do if your worried about it is ask when you have it serviced and they should be able to tell you.

    This EV was on my wishlist until I started to hear reports of problems with the onboard charger failing, and other parts in the car such as the AC compressor also running into problems due to the quality of 3rd party components that have been used. Would be keen to get more updates to find out if these issues are being sorted out, and if not how much they cost to get fixed out of warranty. Thanks

    Thank you for doing an update after 2 years. If you don't mind, how much would you say it costs you to charge your e-208 a month? Are you saving a lot of money in fuel compared to an ICE car?

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +11

      Hi, (very rough figures) My commute to work is about 110miles per day, 2,420miles per month plus extra miles at weekends so say 2,500miles total (approx per month) and thats about £60 per month on electricity. Mainly charging at home on night time cheap rate electricty and the odd free charge out and about. At the moment we are still on a old tarriff so this will go up. But even if this doubles its still alot cheaper that buying petrol.

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +2

      In the summer I get about 200 miles, in the winter it’s about 120 miles per charge. this is based on my commute doing 60 - 70mph doing 110miles per day.

    • @jimblack8104
      @jimblack8104 2 года назад +2

      @@CoastalEV that’s a very wide range, apparently the 2022 upgrade allows for more range(25km). I am considering this car for work and average 80-110 miles per day in London doing up to 50mph for no more then 20-25 miles at times. Do you think I can average 150 on a full charge in winter? I would need to rely on public chargers so would need to car to be efficient in the winter.
      Great content btw.

    • @CoastalEV
      @CoastalEV  2 года назад +2

      You should be ok - my commute is also hilly down here in Devon which doesn’t help. Have a look at the Peugeot website there is a range meter on there which I don’t think is far off what you should get. Might be worth an ask of your local dealer if they would let you have a 24hr test drive so you could try your commute??

    I'm considering one of these or a Hyundai ionic SE, they're similar in price second hand but Peugeot electrics have never been a strong point so had made me weary and after watching this I think I have my answer. I'd love to know what other people would choose between the two who've had experience with both cars
