  • In this video I will show you how to fix a Samsung smart Tv that keeps restarting model number (UN55KU6500F) this is a curved tv so you will need a pillow to help support the screen while taking off the back cover.
The issue was the PWM BLU pin was shorting so the mainboard keeps rebooting you can fix the tv by just disconnecting this one wire and the tv will start up fine.
If anyone knows what the PWM BLU pin is really doing or how to better fix this issue please comment below. ("Note I found that after doing this trick - go into settings and do a tv-reset fixes the issue. EG the PWM was too low so it made the tv restart, after the reset you can re-connect this pin and everything is fine. )
This video will hopefully save you from buying a new tv, please like and comment to help promote this easy fix.

Does anyone know the the PWM BLU pin does I think it dims the backlights but I am not sure why it power cycles the tv, my guess it's a mainboard issue or power supply not sure yet.

The reason may be in the LED, meaning that the LED feed is drawing less than usual, and the protection has been activated by the pressure sensor

I spent hours looking through "fixes" for the power cycle situation with my Samsung SmartTV. This fix took as long as it took to just watch the video. I used a really small flat head screwdriver and half an inch of electrical tape. Works perfectly. This video saved me a thousand dollars easily on buying a new TV! Thank you!!

I found your video while randomly watching RUclips - I have two Samsung TV's with the "boot loop" issue. So I decided to try your fix on the oldest of the two which had been sitting in a guest room for about two years having been replaced by another TV. When I plugged it in, it was like a new TV - clearly, whatever internat battery saved the settings has died and the settings erase....lo and behold! The TV works! Re-connected it to Wifi, and it's as good as new. I have another, newer Samsung with the same Boot Loop issues, if waiting for a reset does not work, I'll go for your method as my plan B. Nonetheless, great video!

Today write driving home I noticed this exact Samsung 4k 55inch curved Smart TV. It was cosmetically clean and no noticable screen damage, so I grabbed it. And sure enough upon power up it just flashes Smart TV every few seconds and screen goes Black.
So finding your video is a true gift. Thank you so much, can't wait to try thisn fix. And I'll post my optimistic success. Thanks again. 👍

There are many issues with these later model Samsungs that cause power cycling. My 70" is doing this and what ive seen online is some sort of issue with the LED array. Some people are taping the ribbon cables but in comparison from mine to what they show, I can not isolate the issue from 1 side of the screen to the other. I have fiddled with it enough to get it to work and have found a couple lines on a ribbon that I can block that allows my screen to function with normal coloring but do you know if the issue you found could be related??

Hmm. I've got a 46" Samsung smart tv with backlight flicking on and off. I cut BLU_ON wire in slot number 20 however it is still giving the same behavior.
Edit: Ok I kept snipping wires from the power board to the main board and eventually one of them fixed it. It was either SDA_LED, SCL_LED or OD_ON/OFF. Now the backlight turns on turns off briefly and then comes on and stays on. Unfortunately I already ripped another ribbon connector off the board from not understanding how it was connected. Maybe next time.

Never did solve my TV's issue moving it around so much eventually lead to a screen break. This did seem to stop the restart loop but the screen image didn't come back on. Of all the Fixes this was the only one that changed anything at all, so that's something at least.
    TV model was un58mu6070e
    Thanks for the video though.

My samsung 50tu8000 had also boot loop, so i tried your paper trick. Now it started up with music and sounds but no picture. Then i removed paper and connected the flat cable back, but this time i disconnected the flatcable between the 2 display control boards located at the bottom. Now the boot loop was gone , but still no picture. Then i cleaned the disconnected flatcable and reinserted it. This was the fix, tv started up and i got picture!. I think that due to very low currents and warm temperature, the contacts oxidated a bit over time.

I have two TU8000 50" tvs that boot looped, blank screen (blank/empty, not black and/or dark). I tried this, and ths bootloop stopped, but I still was left with a blank screen. What ended up getting both screens to work, for me, was putting a piece of masking tape on the BACK ( Not the side with the contacts) of the ribbon cable going from the mainboard to the panel.
Now I've got both to work, but both have very thin horizontal lines in several places

I have the same TV as yours. I fixed my by putting a tape between the cooling padding under the mainboard. Under the logic or mainboard there is a cooling pad that transfers the heat from the voltage regulators to the chasis via the padding. Unfortunately the padding that sticks under the board introduces liquid to the circuit and shorts the main board as the padding heats up The solution to fix the problem in this TV is to clean the board to which the padding sticks with paper towel to remove the liquid glue from the padding. Then afterwards, put a duck tape with the sticking side facing the padding. The duck tape should be cut as per the size of the padding. This will make sure the heat transfer padding does not transfer the glue liquid to the board, and it wont short the circuit. I fixed my LN40B530P7FXZA this way. Make sure you unplug the power cord and wait for 10 minutes before working on the board to discharge the capacitors on the power supply.

Power on/off turns on the power supply board and in turn the tv.pwn blu turns on backlight unit. test the pwm blu pin on power supply board and if you are reading less than 3.3v then problem is in main board. If 3.3v to 5v dc is present fault will be somewhere within LED inverter on power supply board or more than likely a defective LED strip.By pulling the cable out of the connector you are simply bypassing the fault protection and supplying direct power to the LED'S.the issue you are having commonly leans towards defective led strips
