I wish every company I dealt with was as good as RPS! The online information covers everything and is high quality. The sales / customer service team helped this first-time well-owner with all details and took the time to discuss and explain when needed. When I received our RPS 800 with full turnkey kit for our off-grid property, I read the outstanding manual from cover to cover. After that I made all of the connections, did a bucket test, and everything worked the first time. On installation day, everything went smoothly and it was so rewarding to get water pouring out of the well after turning the system on! We have another off-grid property which needs a well so now I’m a repeat customer after ordering a second RPS kit. I highly recommend RPS to anyone needing a system.
So awesome. In the process of buying a house with a well. I’ll definitely be buying one. Great video. I plan to connect straight to the house as back up when electricity goes out.
Brilliant! Thank you for sharing this magnificent video on solar water pumping! That's we need a couple of thousands of these solar water pumping systems in Papua New Guinea!
Never ever use poly pipe for such an installation unless you have the equipment to pull that pipe up from a great depth full of water. I made the mistake of using 1.25" poly pipe to a depth of 200 ft and it weighs 500 lbs, I don't have the tools to pull it up and what is worse is none of the half-dozen well service companies in this county will deal with poly pipe. They complain that the pipe will kink and be damaged during the pulling and their insurance company will not cover them if they reinstall it. They insist on replacing the poly with PVC and special couplings. The material cost to me to replace the pump now includes $800 extra just for a new pipe string. Putting the poly in is easy as the pipe is empty of water.

I want to put it on a 48v battery bank, do I also need a charge controller or does the controller that comes with like the RPS400 kit handle the charging as well?
Hey Shane, an RPS 400 comes with a an RPS Universal charge controller, pump and solar panels(along with some solar wiring and a few more items for install). The Universal Charge controller will handle the charging and discharging of the batteries associated with an RPS 400 system, no need to add on parts!

Excellent video! Have you ever taped the wire to the pipe drop? Fortunately our installer taped the electrical to the pipe drop every 10 ft and when the pipe drop came out of the well head, pulled all of the connections loose they were able to fish it out and since wires were taped, it was repairable. 😊
This system looks like it would be ideal for many of my clients. How do the components hold up in outdoor salty environments? Most of their empty lots would be off grid at the beach. Constant wind and salt spray, and a long rainy season has been a rough go for most systems installed in the past. How do those low water level detectors hold up if there is any iron in the water? The pumps and piping will hold up great, there is always some concerns with the mounting and panels, but if you keep them clean you shouldn't have a problem.

Are they designed to work at a certain range of heights (or pressures) or at a single height only ? I'll be more specific by giving an example : let's say we have a 2 meter high tank, and the tank full sensor has to send a signal to the controller when water reaches 1,8 m for example. Does the pump run again when water level goes just under 1,8 m or is the sensor designed to rerun the pump at a certain low height, for example 0,3 meters ? Is it the same for the low well sensor ?
