I have 14 of these pumps on the ranch and have mixed results. Some have lasted ten years others will leak water into the motor and fail in weeks. They are easy to work on and can be pulled and hauled home. They work well in the winter if you drill a weep hole to allow the water to drain below the frost line. Wells below fifty feet do not work as well as the shallower wells. We have been using larger solar pumps that pump from below 300 feet at a much higher cost.
can you please tell me, Which pump are you using for pulling water its horsepower? the wattage of your solar panels and do you have 1 inch or 3/4 inch pipe? How many gallons per minute does it pump?
Beautiful workmanship. One thing I like to do with electrical wires is to stagger the cuts, short, medium and long. Just in case vibration wears off the heat shrink insulation (or cockroaches eat it, or it basically dry rots away) there won't be any exposed wire to contact with another wire. It also makes the finished bundle with the last heat shrink over the whole bundle a lot skinner.
As a professional groundwater contractor, it bothers me that people do not know how to properly terminate the well head/seal. The hole they put the eyebolt through is there to monitor water level on the well and to place disinfectants. It is not there for an eyebolt. Then there is the rope they used. Any rope is a great place for bacteria to hide inside. This can cause the well to have bacterial issues. Who thinks this rope is stronger than the wire in the well? The use of rope is old technology. On top of this are grounding issues. There should be a bond to a ground rod, from the pump's ground wire to the solar panels and racking. This is to equalize the potential to ground and prevent electrocution. There is a lot more to discuss about grounding that would take a lot more space.
Had a borehole pump failure a few years back.. tape had fallen into the bottom of the borehole and been sucked in to the pump..jamming the impellor .Better to use strong zip ties to secure cable and polypipe..rather than tape..
thanks so much this is a typical solution to food security thanks for the invention it will fulfill dreams to farmers on living wealthy without stress in life.
Do Rain harvesting, Rainwater harvesting helps for groundwater recharge, rain water harvesting is one of the best solutions to water problem in the areas having inadequate water resources. Please save water.
i want to give you a new skill when crimping wires (red blue green) : do not crimp wires on the same point of the cable! keep then sequenced one higher of the another i mean don't let them meet together when you tie them with the plastic sleeve keep going
AS an electronics designer and system installer, If you use electrical in an exposed situation like this, the tape you should be using is NOT #33 3M. You should use # 88. It has a different adhesive that will not degrade.
Very neat job One thing I might have missed. You took two depth readings. How did you decide how deep to drop the pump? Too high and it might dry out i'm guessing, too low and you could pick up more sediment?
Great video. very informative. The thing I most wanted to see was how deep to place the pump in relation to the water level, but you never told us that. How do you figure out how deep you put it?
The analysis of pump test results may be used to determine the pump depth. Without pump test done, others put pumps at least 10m from the borehole depth
hello. i have a question about how you tie the rope together with the pipe and wire. we can see clearly at 12:20 that the yellow rope is making that loop. isn't it going to break the electrical tape that you used to tie everything together when the system will fill in with water?
shouldnt the tension be on the rope itself and not the pipe? or the rope is just for security and thi pipe can carry the weight of the pump? nice installation overall
Can this be drained for winterizing in northern climates? Looking to only use it for summer irrigation and don't want to deal with the hassle of making the connection to the piping 4 feet underground.

I must have missed something on the panel connection detail. If you are getting (almost) 40 volts with a parallel wiring connection, wouldn't you be getting close to 80 volts with the panels connected in a series configuration?
Who makes the poly adapter that you use? Where can I buy them? I can not find them on the internet. Do they make 1/1/4 inch size? Maybe you can add links to your suppliers.
i have a spring and its roughly 8 ft deep and 4 ft. diameter. i have a 110 invertor . will this pump work on my set up if its 500 ft from my house with a 50 ft drop in elevation?
well the pump hangs on a pipe and cable itself as the rope was loose when they put the lid on well :) Shouldn't the pump be supported by rope rather then pipe and cable?

Nice craftsmanship in the video. Very through with instruction. One of the best I’ve seen on RUclips
You're a lifesaver. This is the BEST tutorial video on RUclips.

Suddenly well drilling is equal to doctors and lawyers....... everything is pro.
i like how u guys are not afraid of those arcs everyone needs to stop being afraid of low voltage high amperage...
You will have the time
Great system for off grid. Hand pump option is a must. Check valve will save stress on the pump. Great video.
Im from Pakistan and thats professional work good job👌👌👍👍👍

Great video. I installed my submersible pump based on your video. It went so easy.

Love that you put the secondary heat shrink. Would of like to of seen it with the adhesive. Never can be to careful. It’s no fun pulling a pump.

Respect,I need to have the very same sun pump but I don’t have the equipment...
I love that 10mill tape, so much better than electricians tape
Great job i salute form Nigeria Man

Una presentacion tecnica muy profesional! Gracias.
With little investment, Africa can become a miracle.
You can say that again. Coming from an African from Switzerland..
Nice little set up. I need to order one of these for my well furthest from the homestead.
Very good video.
Thanks for your time today to see how you service the pump
awesome video thanks for taking it to step by step, your video is awesome!!!!
That’s professional.. I’m glad to watch it ..
Good job,,, 😇😇😇😇
Congrats for nice video. Question: what size have the blue pipe and what size have the pump? Thanks
Are these types of pumps available in Uganda East Africa???
Secondly how do you dig the well ?
Thanks

can a hair dryer be used instead of propane torch? very helpful ... ha ha Ike and Mike...
Surprised that the fitting kits are not Stainless steel now? Galvanized is so fraught with long term issues
That's a small powerful pump
Thanks for the excellent demonstration. How do you bypass a submersible pump with solar panels
Good job brather
nice work. my respect from ukraine
Tbon travail,fini et propre.si possible:puissance des 4 panneaux solaires et hauteur d'élévation(hmt),merci.
What was the set up depth?, what is the pump head pressure? A lot of info missing.
Where did you get your power supply I didn't see any battery connect to the solar panels
Nice Lesson I take a lot from this demo.
Can this be drained for winterizing in northern climates? Looking to only use it for summer irrigation and don't want to deal with the hassle of making the connection to the piping 4 feet underground.
Fantastic, thanks a lot!
Why not avoid the black tape totally and just use the shrinking tube. Little bit more expensive, much higher quality.
goooog video🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
Excellent job.
But water pressure is very low
great video. some ppe for your hands and eyes would be an improvement. Thanks.

Thanks you best work.
Congratulation. Ans happy new year 2019

Nice fittings
Supper work 👌👌👌👌
Can you please confirm how far off the bottom of the well was the pump installed. Thanks 👍👍
This two guys are so cool!

True
Tie the bottle to the tape measure. Also that is the wrong head on the torch for that. Also the black tape is silly after the expensive shrink wrap.
How are you, does a solar panel burn if you reverse polarity on a 250watts direct borehole pump
Who makes the poly adapter that you use? Where can I buy them? I can not find them on the internet. Do they make 1/1/4 inch size? Maybe you can add links to your suppliers.
Good job !
What Can We do to get this formation. I'm from Sénégal
very nice
تحياتي من القلب من الجزائر 💓💯
Nice
My casing for my old well is only 4" sized PVC pipe ....is there a pump that would fit?
Before you put the cap you must chek the rope ...all weigh must be on rope and not to the plastic pipe and cable ... that mean no tape to the rope
Cool technology!
Thanks for sharing
pretty good and am interested in the type of service you provide
