Bee gees the only band in history to have Written, produced and sung 6 consecutive No1 songs in a row, also the guys had the record for the best selling album in history until Michael Jackson brought out his album Thriller, Jackson also mentioned his inspiration for Thriller was inspired by the bee gees album Saturday Night Fever, bee gees born on the Isle Of Man 🇮🇲 of the coast of the United Kingdom 🇬🇧,they first and foremost always considered themselves songwriters before being vocalists, and have written for dozens of famous artists, Elvis covered a bee gees song called words, the guys have sold over 250 million records worldwide, and have a huge catalog of songs over 6 decades, great reaction thanks 🙏

The Bee Gees have been amazingly successful, and influential over about 45y of their carreer (Maurice died in '03). They got #1 in charts all over the globe dozens of times for their own songs, and wrote and composed twice as many #1s for others, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion and many many others.
During that long career, they produced songs across a plethora of genres

Youll find his name on a list of great bassists. Robin is also a lead singer on a lot of songs plays piano, guitar, and many more. They are a lot more than people give them credit for. The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
They are also self taught musicians. The most prolifically musician of the brothers Gibb was Maurice who played acoustic and bass guitar plus keyboards/piano. Barry played acoustic and rhythm guitar. I don't know of Robin played any instruments. Andy played acoustic guitar and piano.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ruclips.net/video/162GlAEpfrY/видео.html.
Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ruclips.net/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/видео.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing ruclips.net/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/видео.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

3 Australians recording in a French studio with European session musicians and essentially inventing an entire genre of dance music in and each new song They were crafting for this soundtrack. It's pretty remarkable period I don't think most people understand just how far back the BeeGees Career actually goes, they had already been pop pop and somewhat psychedelic band in the 60s and early 70s.
And this move towards Dance music was already 15 years into their career, but the combination of great hooks and killer grooves with those 3 part vocal harmonies. … this is the shit. It took me a long time to really appreciate just how good the Bee Gees really were especially Maurice Gibb. The bassist. His baselines are so funky and yet so restrained and melodic At the same time… the Bee Gees were in fact a d*** good band period

Love your Bee Gee reactions. Barry Gibb (leads most of their songs), and twin brothers: Robin & Maurice (pronounced Morris) Gibb make up The Bee Gees.
The Bee Gees are musicians and play instruments! And they WRITE ALL THEIR SONGS! They were very popular in the black community too but they crossed all genres! They have songs in disco, R&B, pop, rock, and country! They could do it all which is why they released their first cd in the 1950’s and their last cd in the 2,000’s! And yes, I and many women back then, had a major crush on Barry! You should look at some of his pictures from back then and you’ll see why! But Barry’s been married to the same woman for over 50 years! It didn’t stop us from dreaming though!😂
FUN FACT: Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson were good friends and Barry named his 4h son after Michael, and Michael was his son’s godfather!
I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list:
More songs to react to by The Bee Gees:
    You Should Be Dancing
Fanny be tender with my love
    Jive Talking
    Nights on Broadway
    Tragedy
    More than a woman
    Love you inside out
    To love somebody
    Massachusetts
    Alone
    Lonely Days
    You Win Again
    Run to Me
How Can you mend a broken heart
The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor)
Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to:
    My Lover’s Prayer
    Letting Go
    Subway
    You Stepped Into My
    life
    Children of the World
    Search, Find
Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb):
If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman)
Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs.
Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD
Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, Barry wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals.
Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, Barry wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals.
Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background.
    More Than a Woman (Tavares)
    Love Me (Yvonne Elliman)
Come on Over (Olivia Newton John)
Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it.
    Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli)
Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer)
Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb
A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)

There is an audio recording of them writing How Deep, a short one about 10 min and a long one about 45 min. It’s amazing to hear how they worked putting together a song.

How Deep Is Your Love is also from the movie Saturday Night Fever, like Stayin' Alive and Night Fever. It was the fist of 6 number ones in a row, the others being Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, Too Much heaven, Tragedy and Love You Inside Out. From 1975 to 1980 they wrote 14 number 1's, some recorded by themselves, some by others.
You mentioned Conway Twitty. He, in fact, covered The Bee Gees/Barry Gibb song Rest your Love On Me. Check it out. It is a country song that was the B side to the Bee Gees Too Much Heaven single.
Maurice can i general play on anything but mostly on studio albums play Bass, in concerts he plays mostly keyboards, Barry plays Guitar and Robin can play instruments but rarely does so. In nearly their whole career they had a lead guitarist called Alan kendall. He was with them so long that he ended up being called the 4th Bee Gees. Check out some of their live videos to see that they infact also play instruments live.

I’m a huge Bee Gees fan and a few years ago I heard “Alone” and it became my favorite song of theirs because it really lets you hear Robin sing. It might have been their last album done before the two brothers died. You also need to listen to the younger brother Andy Gibb, he was really good too!

Great reaction guys. I remember hearing Disco for years. We all got burned out on it. That said... these guys are much more than just Disco. They have a great catalog of music that covered several decades. The twins have both passed and Barry Gibb is the only remaining member of the Bee Gees.

    Updated comments:
    Love your Bee Gee reactions
The Bee Gees were more than just disco!
Here’s a list with MY interpretation of what genre I think they fall under:
    Too Much Heaven (R&B)
How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard)
    Staying Alive (disco)
    Night Fever (disco)
You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco)
Fanny be tender with my love (R&B)
    Jive Talking (R&B)
    Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk)
    Tragedy (Techno? Pop)
    More than a woman (Disco/R&B)
    Love you inside out (Funk/pop)
    To love somebody (R&B)
    Massachusetts (pop/country)
    Alone (pop)
    Lonely Days (pop)
    You Win Again (pop)
    Run to Me (pop)
How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B)
    Kiss of Life (rock)
Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country)
    Bodyguard (R&B)
The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor)
Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to:
    My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard)
    Letting Go (pop ballard)
    Subway (R&B)
    You Stepped Into My
    life (Funk/r&b)
    Children of the World (pop)
    Search, Find (pop or R&B)

Mo and Barry play the bass and electric guitar. Mo is one of the most underated bass player. Just to let you know that the Bee Gees can not read or write music but created 100's of songs for many artist other then themselves.
