Alice Cooper does a hell of a live show. I was fortunate enough to have seen the "Billion Dollar Babies" tour in the '70's. Great visual additions to the great music. Great choice of songs.

Great reaction guys! Cool story…when this album came out, 98 rock here in Tampa FL. was promoting the album because he was coming in concert. So there was a local causeway here in Tampa that was a littered with trash, since the new album was called “Trash” the rock station put on a publicity stunt in which if you came out to the causeway at a certain time (I think it was 2:00 P.M.) and walked along and filled up one bag of trash you would meet Alice Cooper. Well let me tell ‘ya, my brother turned to me, I turned to my friend Richard, we all got up, grabbed three garbage bags and headed to the causeway. I remember there was a cool looking 98 rock van parked on the side, with a representative who was taking names. He would jot your name down and off you went picking up trash. And did I mention they also brought along three 98 rock cheerleaders! Pretty cool. Well we collected our trash and turned it in. At that point the representative checked your name off the list and had you wait in a special section which was reserved for Alice Cooper meet and greet. It was guarded by the 98 rock chicks so people who didn’t pick up trash couldn’t sneak their way into the section. To my surprise only a dozen people showed up to pick trash. Probably because of the time and most people were working. After waiting over a 45 minutes in the hot FL. sun, I remember thinking to myself “Yea he’s not showing. Taking time out of his busy schedule just to say hello to a handful of fans who picked up garbage? Probably not!” But low and behold a few minutes later this huge, silver tour bus parks on the side of the causeway and out comes the man…dressed like he was ready to go on stage. Not to mention his 6 foot Boa Constrictor around his neck. He took the time to thank us for our participation and shook all our hands. The whole thing was over in three minutes, but hell, it was worth it. A cool rock experience I will never forget. It’s the little things in life.

I love this song, one of my favorite Alice Cooper songs. The album Trash that this song is from is Alice Cooper's most successful album of all time. The album has many great songs like "Bed Of Nails", "House Of Fire" and my personal favorite "Hell Is Living Without You". The album after Trash has amazing songs too like "Hey Stoopid" (guest vocals from Ozzy Osbourne) and "Love's A Loaded Gun".

This song was primarily written by Desmond Child who was the go to guy bands went to in the 80s when power ballads were big, or when artist needed a go to hit and couldn't write one. He worked a lot with bands who were big in the 70s and were having a hard time crossing over to the 80s more mainstream MTV sound. Desmond frequently worked with Artist like Kiss, Cher, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Michael Bolton, Ricky Martin and many other. He saved a lot of careers, and helped many bands become a radio hit machine. He must have royalties in the hundreds of millions and 90% of the population never heard of him or know what he looks like. Now that's a good gig!

Good reaction! I'm a big Alice Cooper fan. Saw him in 89 or 90 for the first time, and he's always been awesome live. He's getting up there in age, but because of his style of singing, he still sounds just great. More Alice? ''No more mister nice guy'' should be next. I'm also a big fan of the song ''Go to hell'', and of the Welcome to my nightmare album.

This song always reminds me of my ex lady, heroin.
It's explains our old relationship perfectly. I'm sure a lot of ex addicts would also attest to that.
Still, it's an absolutely fantastic song. Pure 80s banger.
A lot of the Alice purists hate it. but I love it.👍

Absolutely right on about this song - School's Out was an anthem for those of us in school in 1972 but this 1989 song is my favourite from Alice Cooper. They were #1 and #2 in the UK respectively. The other big top ten hit from him was Elected, at #4 in 1972, which followed-up School's Out. Computer says Poison was used in a VW Passat ad in 2011 and I appear to have found it: ruclips.net/video/vFykG-DDrUE/видео.html

Glad to see you do Alice. I was 18 when I first heard them do "I'm Eighteen" on the radio with my friends and I said "Wow, who's that?". they said it was alice cooper and I said that her voice sounded weird. When they told me it was a dude, I was hooked. Their live show with theatrics was the best (getting hung on the gallows and the guillotine beheading ). I enjoyed the earlier albums with the original members, the music was more about the interesting shock lyrics and not as much guitar solos and heavy riffs he got with the new members (as in Poison). Here are some songs you haven't heard I'll bet. Unfinished Sweet, about going to the dentist. Love the part about getting a tooth extracted on the nitrous gas. Halo of Flies, about a 007 spy story. Or if you want to peek inside an insane asylum play Second Coming and Ballad of Dwight Fry together as on the album. I still listen to them when I go work in the garden with ear phones. You two make a great team, I enjoy your honest observations.

Alice's poppiest phase. I love it but I prefer it live with less "bling" (aka less reverb and background vocals). Plus his live show is just great horror-theatrics. First time I saw him was in the courtyard of a medieval castle, which added to his kind of show. Also his bassist then looked a little like a Misfits member on vacation... If you haven't checked out the Misfits yet, I recommend doing so. Life is better than albums imo but also I personally prefer the older stuff...

The Godfather of Shock Rock. Aka Vincent Damon Furnier. Actually, Alice Cooper was the name of the band, but it became synonymous in representing his stage persona. So, he's Alice. I was lucky to see him twice in his hometown of Detroit. What a show he puts on. Check out "Under My Wheels" or the long version of "Welcome To My Nightmare". Also "The Ballad Of Dwight Fry". Great reaction. Glad you enjoyed it. Alice is still rockin, and making records. A very humble, personable man, but you would never know it by looking at him. LOL.🤘

I always liked this song but I haven't heard it in ages. This reaction just reminded me again why I liked it to begin with. It's catchy as heck, although a wee bit on the commercial side...not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm no expert on Alice's discography so I can't say how good this is in comparison to the rest of his songs, but I know what i like and that's good enough for me. Your description of it being a poppy "fun song" is spot-on.
For this suggestion, I'm gonna go back to my favourite rock band in my high school days (daze?), Blue Öyster Cult with I Love The Night...just a warning though, it's not a rocker...more of a soft ballad-y type thing but still one of my faves...here is a live version (ruclips.net/video/z-h4cM79zt0/видео.html) and here is the studio version (ruclips.net/video/ognBcHjlcJo/видео.html). Cheers!

Killer, Love it to Death, Schools Out, Billion $$ Babies, Welcome to My Nightmare, Lace and Whiskey, and Goes to Hell are all such incredible albums jam packed with great songs.
