Wow, that Emeril's experience really was subpar. It's a recipe for disaster if there's only two servers present to look after an entire restaurant, and it's not the servers' fault!
So sorry you had that type of rudeness. I unfortunately called a couple years ago friends and they started that type of rude acting. I stood up grabbed my wife’s hand and told them please excuse us we are not on the same wavelength as you all are. Our old friend started yelling at us and my wife looked at me and told me. Good choice I never liked them anyway. Now that I look back about them they had been quite rude over the years. I just ignored it until that evening when they offended everyone. Two other couples at our table left them after we had left. The offending couple still to this day think they were wronged. As Mr Gump stated. Stupid is as Stupid does. Bless you two and we look forward meeting you two one day in the future. ❤
Usually, it is the booze that does it. I live in Las Vegas that type of behavior is very common here, both on the Strip and away where normal locals go eat. These days we eat at home or with friends at our house or their place. Some people have no manners.
OMGoodness I haven't got to that bit. How shallow minded and insecure. They make themselves embarrassing to look at. Fear and misunderstanding have a lot to answer for. Love and peace peeps
My husband and I just got off a Virgin Atlantic cruise out of Miami. I personally don't like cruising but this one changed my mind. The food and the crew were amazing!!!! VIRGIN cruises is all I'll be doing!!
I could swear that when we started cruising in 2004 several cruise lines offered “cruises to nowhere”. They were shorter cruises (3-5 days) but the ship would just go out and wander about. I wish that Royal Caribbean would do that out of Port Canaveral because sometimes I pick a cruise based on how many sea days it has. The more the merrier! 😀 Sorry about the morons at the MDR table next to you. I think the maitre d AND a security guard should have at least asked them to tone it down or face expulsion. Thanks for your very hard work putting these wonderful videos together. I look forward to them every Sunday! ❤️
A friend recently took a 3-day Disney cruise out of San Diego to Ensenada (60 miles away), so there was basically a lot of just wandering about in the ocean.
The perfect day at coco cay are basically like that, you can use your drink package and dinner packages there they said, same thing with Labadee, Haiti, but because of civil unrest their is limited cruise ships going to Haiti
We did our first TA last year and decided it's the way to go from now on. We loved the 8 days at sea to fully unwind before hitting Europe and there was no overnight flight/jet lag to get there. The only benefit in E to W I think is you get 6 hours extra on the cruise with the time changes (and you lose 6 going W to E).
My favourite part of a cruise is being at sea, with no land in sight. After twice doing the month long trip from UK to Australia with only 2 or 3 ports, the longer the cruise with more sea days would be my go to.
7 days at sea may seem like a long period to some but in comparison, the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier was deployed for 321 days during 2020-2021. What makes this deployment especially notable is that Nimitz spent more than 10 months at sea WITHOUT any port calls due to the worldwide pandemic. This deployment by Nimitz was the longest deployment by a US Navy warship since the USS Coral Sea did 329 days (which included port calls) in 1964-1965 during the Vietnam war era. Long deployments for Sailors are routine and are expected during our tenure but I salute the entire crew of Nimitz for such an extraordinary accomplishment. Bravo Zulu. I enjoy your videos because you have an excellent mix of information, scenery, and humor while presenting your travel experiences. Be well and keep the content coming. Thank you.

Finally found some time to watch your TransAtlantic Cruise. We loved it and it fired us up for our TransAtlantic / Repositioning Cruise on Viking Sky from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale November 2023. Keep sharing your cruises!!! Bart & Sue (Patreon Captains)
I love your channel. Found you looking for a tour of Mardi Gras and it was so professionally done that I thought the cruise line made it. And then I found out you guys are also freaking hilarious 😂. I love the water slide footage
Oh guys!!! This video was sooooo fun!!! I loved watching you do all the playground activities. I love hearing you laugh and scream! It seems like the best dining is actually the fast options. I have such a great time going on adventures with you🥰
I did a transatlantic cruise several years back and the weather after we left Miami was so bad that our planned stop in Bermuda was cancelled as the entire island shut down. To make up for it, we stopped in the Azores, and what a treat that was! I would do another transatlantic in a heartbeat!
Hey Ben and David! The adventure continues. Is the moral of the story here always carry a corkscrew to open a bottle cause you just never know when you might need one, lol. Thanks for a another great chapter in the transatlantic trip! Happy Cruising!
YES!!!!!! some ships do offer a corkage fee, but good idea to bring one or choose one of those screw off lids or wine in a bag, as an ex crew member getting to the Caribbean is ace , was never really a six month in Alaska excitement
done transatlantic 3 times. No great problems though the last time was choppy. Having previously gone across Bay of Biscay in really rough weather we learned that spending more time in bed really paid dividends. Our first transatlantic we had two choices, on P&O to Southampton via Bay of Biscay or on Marella to Malaga. The choice was made easier because with Marella we could fly back to Birmingham as opposed to getting back for Southampton and then to the a departure airport. A double bonus.
HI Ben, Hi David! Your videos are always so much fun to watch. My son always brings his own pillow when he decides to travel with us. Many people travel with certain things they like.
Well, Guys, said I'd start to catch up after Margaritaville and have now done Dream and Celebration with you. How'd I miss you? You're all over the place! Dream was eye opener in its beauty and its guests. More tranquil than imagined. Had envisioned hordes of children running amok. Celebration was tremendous as well. Enlightening as well after all the negative press I'd been seeing re: Carnival. Now THAT's a ship lover's dream! Seven days of just sailing! Great job of reversing two long held negative prejudices. Great job again!
I'm hoping to do my first Transatlantic later this year, but have been nervous about the sheer number of sea days one after the other. Great to see how you passed the time, and what a ship to do it on!
Lucky you both, Ben and David. You must’ve cruised with other well-known RUclipsrs. Lucy and I embarked P&O Arcadia in Southampton on the same day to Zeebrugge but our port of call was changed to Rotterdam due to high wind towards the Belgian port. Fraser@Sea was on our ship but we never met him. June
To uncork the bottle of wine at 25:00, just use a pen or something and hammer the cork down into the bottle. With the cork now floating in the wine, the pour is more like a drizzle, however.
I love the swells and high seas! The best part of the adventure at sea. P.S. carry your own TSA compliant - Corkscrews (with no blade). Carry-On Bags: Yes. Checked Bags: Yes.
Hello, Ben and David. Kudos to you both for doing the ropes course! I definitely couldn’t do it. I have an awful fear of heights. I don’t blame you all for being annoyed with the rude comments from the other table in the MDR. If I ever go on another cruise, I would enjoy the transatlantic experience. I love the sea days. By the way, have you all ever been on a Panama Canal cruise?
My friend and I did the ropes course on the Vista. I'm terrified of heights, but, like Ben, I was glad I did it. I also like to bring my own snacks - just in case. You never know if you're going to be hungry in the middle of the night. LOL
We are scheduled to go on this ship in November 2024 (so far away 😭😭), but still super excited. It'll be me, my husband and our at that time 10 and 12 year olds...it will be our first Carnival cruise, we have only done Royal! And then my 2 sisters and my aunt will be with us and will be their first cruise ever!!! This video was so fun, i love you two so much 💜💜💜
I never tried a transatlantic, maybe one day. But looks like a lot of fun stuff to do on the cruise. So unfortunate about the lousy party during dinner. That’s so rude. Thank you for the video ! Can’t wait till the next one.
Everyone is feeling the pinch in these hard economical times, maybe we have had the good times for so long we have become too used to it. Great cruising really enjoy your vlogs.
Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for being our designated camera operator, Ben. I'm proud of you for going on that playground. I wouldn't do it! Sorry you had such a horrible experience on the dining room. I would have asked to be moved. Or better yet, they should have been escorted out. Food to be delivered to their rooms!
Ben I totally get taking your pillow and blanket. We take ours now if possible. We just weren't sleeping well and it was because of the pillows. At the last minute I threw them in the car when we did a little getaway for a change of scenery right after lock down. Made a world difference! Love your vids. Your one liners especially. Best wishes for 2023!
Thanks for the video. You guys are making me consider trying Carnival again. I was on the Pride about 8 years ago and was not impressed, but this ship looks great. And the food reviews are intriguing, especially with Royal's food decreasing in quality.
This is definitely on my bucket list. I loved watching all your antics. Laughed pretty hard. So sorry you had to deal with those nasty drunk people when you were having dinner in the MDR.
Loved watching you spend your day on board - especially in the splash zone. I can’t do those tube things - too confining… but it was so fun watching you both. And then why do you torture yourself on the rope course! Looking forward to more Vlogs from this cruise. Thank you
I have found that on several cruise lines that I have been on that the coffee always comes at the end of the meal. Now I make sure to ask for the coffee to come out immediately and that has helped.
You guys are a trip. If I need a chuckle I find you......pillow castle I LOVE THAT! LOL😂 I do the same thing. It's not weird. I've watched a lot of cruisers and besides Laura & Fain you guys are my fav.
How to get the wine out of a bottle with Cork in. Push the Cork in. A knife handle fits great. Hold a cloth around the neck and slowly push the Cork down with the handle. Works and easy. Enjoy
My two daughters and I went on the Carnival Destiny in 1996 first sailing, long story short 4 of the 6 engines broke we were at sea 5 days out of 7 the ship was really rocking we had 24 foot waves came up to our window a lot were getting sick, my one daughter went to the theater and watched Titanic lol But Carnival was fantastic and opened the bars for 2 hours a day free and they gave us half of our money back before we left the ship and they also gave us 50% off a future cruise. I didn’t think they considered the transatlantic crossing as their inaugural cruise. I think they considered the first cruise out of Florida as the official inaugural cruise. Maybe that’s why there weren’t gifts?
Have you ever done a transatlantic on Cunard? A very different experience as it is a bit of a throwback to the old ocean liner days which had some good experiences and some not so good experiences but overall worth the experience.
I know this vlogg is from a while ago, but the trick with the wine is to get a butter knife and just push the cork down into the bottle. Cork doesn't break and you can have a lovely glass of wine.
I'm so glad that I stumbled upon you two, you guys are so cute. I appreciate that you show the cruise app and how to use it or what to do when reserving a place to eat. Thank you

If you're going to cross the Atlantic during the winter months and you easily get seasick then you're going to be in for a horrible week especially if you're not on QM2.
The service is key to a positive overall experience. Understaffed, aggressive staff or poorly trained staff can really ruin a cruise experience. The waiting and slowness would be really disappointing.
when it comes to sea sickness I swear by the Boots Stores Travel Wrist Bands(I wear one on each wrist and the only time I take them off on a cruise is when I go to sleep) and I've not had any issues with sea sickness yet touch wood.
