Yes, Britney! Please make a whole video on cathedral hands. I adore cathedral hands on my watches! Cathedral hands and firing fingers ;) Hamilton straps are really the house's weak point. I hated my Khaki Field until I put it on a Nato strap. Thank you for sharing.
@ottokonrad6260 it is very annoying. My Brown PVD Khaki Mechanical came with a "leather" Nato that looked like a Swatch bracelet, more plastic than leather. The Khaki Automatic I bought many years ago came with a very poorly made bracelet, I could not use it. A good strap/bracelet makes a good watch. I love the Murph, but knowing I have to buy add to the cost a third party bracelet stops me from buying it. Details count
three things: 1. I really want this watch. 2. I would love a Gringa mini-doc/ video essay about Cathedral hands. Don't hold back, go for it please! and 3. 5:27 , 11:01-- Bless you.
I love my Murph! Coming from using a Garmin Fenix 6X (Huge 51mm), I initially was a little taken aback by the 38mm Hamilton. I thought it was way too small. Thank God I asked my brilliant and wise wife what her thoughts were and she said it looked great on my 6.5 inch wrist. I'm glad I listened to her. Everytime I look at it, I smile. It's my first "serious" watch purchase. Some bash Hamilton and claim their watches to be "overrated!" To each his own. I bought the watch because I thought it was beautiful and a great start for me. Thanks Britney! Love your videos!
I sat down, watched the movie for the first time, and bought the watch for my 35th birthday in October. LOVE IT! Cathedral hands 🔥, and it's one time I don't miss having a date.
Had to pause… we need a cathedral hands video, you Brittany, are the hero we need! Also, the black dial version will be my first Swiss watch. This bad boy is going to hold things down while I search for my first high end luxury watch.
Totally agree with you on the watch straps being important, especially if it's a metal bracelet. Omega really let themselves down with their sharp, uncomfortable bracelets and its one of the reasons Rolex feels a tier above them on the wrist. I use the analogy of watches being like Sandwiches (bear with me!). People focus so much on the filling in a sandwich (the watch) and forget about the bread (the bracelet). The bread is like 80% of the sandwich and is just as inporant as the filling. A sandwich can be ruined by bad cheap bread. The same with a bracelet - it can ruin the wearing experience of a great watch as it's 80% of how it feels on the wrist.
I’ve gotten to the point where I click on your videos as soon as the notification pops up without even caring what it’s about. Always entertaining don’t ever change! But as it happens I love the murph hard! Great alternative to an Explorer I for way less the cost
I also 100% agree with you on the strap. When I got mine, after the honeymoon period was over, I found it sadly sitting and realized it was the strap that I didn’t want to grab every morning. Once I found the right one it became the GADA it was meant to be
I bought the Coop, as worn by Matthew McConaughey, right after seeing the movie ten years ago. Never really wanted the Murph, until I finally saw one in person a year ago. Then, I had to have it. You're right, it's a great stand alone watch
Got this watch yesterday from my three sons for a birthday present. Absolutely fantastic watch. Also I have the metal bracelet which takes it to another level
I see the murph as a field watch. It reminds me of my equally gorgeous Maopin and Webb Campaign small seconds, with over 100 years of history. The Campaign is now 40mm, (smaller in the past) but looks smaller. One of my favourite watches. Your Murph looks great on you, Britt, especially the way you are wearing your shirt. 😂
Britt, don’t feel too bad. I work for a company that pays pensions. I once proposed a whole theory about whether or not somewhere out in the universe was an alien civilization, with their own work based pensions, and whether they were sitting around BS’ing they way we were on earth. A had several co workers who looked at me like I had two heads and totally shut down…..I would love to hear your story one day
This is almost certainly my next watch and may well be the last. I want a white dial watch with numerals to round out the small collection. This fits the bill! Your vids are always a perfect mix or entertaining and informative.
Cathedral hands rock! We would love a video on them! I'm a big Hamilton fan! The 42mm is next on my buy list . 8 in wrister here ! Great video. ! Congratulations on your baby !❤❤🎉🎉
The Murph has a childlike quality. And right on point, the Interstellar prop watch was gifted in the film by Matthew McConaughey to his 8 year oldish daughter (as her first watch but also for more fundamental purposes revealed later in the film) before he heads off on his space mission. The design for the movie was spot on for the story telling and the characters. I think the real life version introduced in 2019 was originally intended as a replica for the same movie nerds who have Iron Giant models on their mantels (ahum), but the subtle quirkiness of the watch must speak to a lot more people than Interstellar movie nerds.
Hi Britney, I rarely comment on YT, but I have to say that I would be delighted by an episode dedicated to cathedral hands ! And thank you for this review, this murph really is a great offering for the pricepoint. For the caliber, the H-10 is based off the caliber C07.611 which is a variant of the powermatic 80 with a regular escapement (C07.111 has the "synthetic" escapement and the C07.811 has a silicon hairspring), the powermatic 80 itself being based off the renowned ETA 2824-2.
The Seiko 5 SRPD 55 is the best automatic watch for me as a daily wear to the office. Or any Solar Powered Quartz watch, like Citizen, Seiko or Casio. Something you don’t have to fear for, and when you see the bumps and schratches they get over time, that make them all the more special. Your content is great as always, and so is your voice.
Im a big srpd fan as well.. Amazing watch for the money.. makes it on my wrist a few times a wk.. Any watch with Bulova’s precisionist movement as well. ( Im a huge fan of the “Jet Star” )

The white dial Murph was unexpected, but welcome. Now I hope they release it with the bracelet at some point. Maybe they will do a quiet release like they did when adding the bracelet to the white dial Khaki Expedition last year. I got hands on with the white dial and bracelet model at a watch event (yes, Hamilton at a watch event). Anecdotally with my UV light, the white dial had better lume than the black dial. That may not matter to some, but I thought I'd mention it. I really like the texture on the white dial too. Nice job, Hamilton!
I have the OG 42mm Murph in my collection, and will agree with your use/wear case description 100 percent. I would say it's a tool watch in the same vein as a Rolex Explorer or Tudor Ranger, in that the Murph is a little too nice for going out to do yard work but the design language definitely says field watch. My Murph doesn't get much wear time in the summer as I feel the black leather strap is better suited for the clothes I wear during cooler weather. I am glad I have it though, and hope to get a Cooper to go along with it as Interstellar is one of my favorite movies.
Hi Britt! I really like this watch. I like its balance. It borders on perfection. Thank you very much for your work and the magnificent way you make it. Besides being very good, it is also very enjoyable. Regards, Oscar.
Love the review and approach. I got this very same watch as an anniversary gift and it has unequivocally been on my wrist nonstop. I think you articulate its versatility very well. My only one super duper wish would be more AR coating for the price given lack of contrast . That’s strictly a personal opinion. Great work again!
The Murph is really nice, but to me it can never be the only watch I need, because I require a date window. You should do a cathedral hands special, I'd watch that video.
@@samdaniels1234 when working I find it easier and a hell of a lot faster to check my wristwatch for the date, than my phone. That's because my phone isn't glued to my hand and of course having worn a wristwatch every day for 40+ years I actually use my watch - it's not just for show.

Strap. Agreed, if someone buys a watch and changes the strap straight away, they either didn't like the watch in the first place or have seen too many promotional videos for 'my own brand nato strap'. The strap is part of the watch design, you wouldn't buy a car and start changing the body panels to make it look 'better'. 😂
@@BrittPearceWatchesI think they’re acceptable in something a bit more classic. Something ideally made out of gold and on a leather strap. I just can’t handle seeing it on something thats modern. maybe I’m just weird.
Completely agree about the factory strap or bracelet. Is someone going to buy a car if the wheel arches need to be cut higher to accommodate larger tires? I would not. I swap bracelets and straps but still require a good factory strap or bracelet.
I bought the 42 and the Coop at the same time, with the eventual plan to pass down the Murph to my daughter. Only thing I find is the bezel seems to collect marks.
I agree on the strap comment. I recently bough a cartier tank, and the leather strap is absolutely cheap and terrible. I dont know why companies cheap out when you are paying 3.5k for a watch.
The slightly oversized "boyfriend" watch is cool, especially with a loose crisp blouse & that white dial, very stylish. Im not really a cathedral hand guy so........eh Id probly watch it even if I took the piss (edit) The H10 is a powermatic 80 basically

I would not.
I swap bracelets and straps but still require a good factory strap or bracelet.
Um, just fyi, in terms of categories the Murph is a Field watch. Yes, we would all love a video about cathedral hands please and thank you.
Cathedral hands episode please!
I would like to see a video about cathedral hands.
I bought the 42 and the Coop at the same time, with the eventual plan to pass down the Murph to my daughter. Only thing I find is the bezel seems to collect marks.
Great video !
I agree on the strap comment. I recently bough a cartier tank, and the leather strap is absolutely cheap and terrible. I dont know why companies cheap out when you are paying 3.5k for a watch.
INTERSTELLAR
The slightly oversized "boyfriend" watch is cool, especially with a loose crisp blouse & that white dial, very stylish. Im not really a cathedral hand guy so........eh Id probly watch it even if I took the piss (edit) The H10 is a powermatic 80 basically
5:35 yes Seiko we ARE talking about YOU 5:39
cathedral hands -- yes
I have the 42mm on a strap. I nearly sold it to get this but I need, yes need, the eureka in Morse code on the hand.
Same problem here. Wish they had kept that detail on the smaller version.
That's such a gimmicke feature that you can barely see. The prop didn't even have it
