Dude I'm teaching myself drums and this fill is absolutely insane! It sounds like your doing more then what ur actually playing! Thank you man! I'm a guitarist but wow this video is helpful! I watch alot of Joey jordison from slipknot but this rudiment is cool! ❤🤟🤘
@@ThatSwedishDrummer I do. Over in Durham, N. C. Ur short drum technique's are easy to learn from. Keep doing. Short videos. Perhaps consider doing a longer video showing proper footing and drumstick hold/position, etc. Just a suggestion. Thanks for all ur great work. Drummers rule. in 2022!
I think this i my favourite rudiment next to the herta and the flam or that one where you get two quick hits in one stroke i can’t remember what its called but its mostly used in drumbeats chad smith does it a lot in rhcp songs
I used this a lot. I didn’t know what sticking pattern I was playing I just thought it sounded cool. Used to play a herta with Rll r sticking. Still don’t know what that’s called except, “you play that weird”
I can do a sixth stroke roll pretty cleanly on the snare but the double start to get messy as soon as i move around the kit. It always feels like my hands aren’t fast enough to get back to the snare for the ghosty double and they feel sloppy. When i slow it down its fine but Ive been trying to get smoother for months and I’m not making a whole lot of progress. Tips from anyone would be appreciated
It might sound like a boring answer, but you'll only achieve faster tempos by practicing slowly and gradually increasing the tempo. And of course, depending on your setup - maybe try moving your toms/cymbals a bit closer to you, so you don't have to reach a lot with your arms (if that's the case) :) Hope that helps!
I guess you can see it as that, but it's not :) Since paradiddle diddle's already played as 16th note triplets, you don't really play permutations of the sticking :)
As you are increasing the speed, are you supposed to be bouncing the stick for the doubles or is everything done with the wrist? At max speed i can only do the ghost notes by letting the stick fall and bounce. Sorry if my english is kinda clumsy.
It’s all about letting the sticks doing the work! The more you practice, the more you’ll make the stick do the work by bouncing instead of actively using your wrists 🤗
Technically it can be called inverted paradiddle diddle, but this is a six stroke roll. The six stroke roll can be played as sextuplets or straight, and no it doesn’t have 8 strokes.
This is the first time I’ve seen someone actually show how to implement the six stroke roll like this. Thank you, I really appreciate it
👊🔥
I agree. I hear about rudiments all the time, but how do you incorporate them on a drum set?
I just watched it like 800 times 😅
Same. There's a good one on the Intro of Like That by Sleep Token
Could be wrong, but I think Bonham loved using this rudiment in his solos. Sounds great man!
Indeed he did!
Yep I heard this in bonso’s solos😊😊😊
Fucking orgasmic drum sounds. Loving the cymbals too
🤗🔥🥁
Love the cymbal hits in the roll!

Great 1 and 2 tom sound
Thanks for this awesome tutorial!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 what would be the time signature for this ?😊
thanks!
Just regular old 4/4 🤗
You should do videos of this and the RLRLLK pattern as straight 16ths or 32nd notes. Easy videos to do and informative for your viewers.
I already have 😎✌️
I needed to see this today
Awesome man
Cheers!
Awesome thank you so so much for sharing
You are so welcome!
You help me out a lot. Thanks.
I’m glad you like it!🙌🔥

Excellent
Ive learned so much from his teaching techniques... And i dont think ive even heard him speak! Lol damn... Hes saying so much without saying anything.
Haha, you can watch my longer lessons if you wanna hear me speak xD

I need a snare like this what brand and size is it ? Thanks for these great videos.
It's a Sonor "Benny Greb signature brass snare" :)
@@ThatSwedishDrummer thank you very much
Muy bueno.......te sigo siempre.......todos los rudimentos.....exelente.....buenos Aires arg5
cuantos pedalasos abajo no se ven gracias eres un maestro
I have a double pedal, Tama Speed Cobra. (Don't always use the double pedal though)
yummy cheers!!!

🤗✌️
What exercises do you do to strengthen and build up dexterity in your weaker hand??
I work on just that hand then, just playing 16th notes with different accented hits!
Juicy!
🔥🔥
🙏🔥
Isn’t that just a different placement of the paradiddlediddle?
I guess you can see it as that, but it's not :)
Since paradiddle diddle's already played as 16th note triplets, you don't really play permutations of the sticking :)
@@ThatSwedishDrummer thanks for the education
Do you have any orchestrations for the RLRRLL six stroke roll that you like?
@@PolyThumper that’s a Paradiddle Diddle, and yeah! I’ve done videos on it 😃
Is this typical for 16th note triplets? Or do people ever play singles or doubles only?
You can play sextuplets however you want by dividing it up on your kit, but the six stroke roll is a very smooth rudiment 🤙🔥
How do you get your hands fast like that please tell!!
Only one method: Practice 😉
Cool!

Great. When it gets fast, what is the bpm (tempo)?
Haha I'm not sure, but you can try it at whatever tempo you feel comfortable with and take it from there 😄
please don't go, cj. literally just discovered you 😢
I’m not going anywhere 😊
On peut être 😮😮
We need a drummer for a power metal band based in Netherlands/Sweden. Could you recommend anyone if not yourself?
Nah
What’s the specs of this drum kit?
Pearl Reference Series kit
10, 12, 14 and 16 toms
22 bass drum
Benny Greb signature brass snare (13"x5.75")
How do you mic your kit?
Can you be more specific? You're wondering if it's closed micked? How many mics?
@That Swedish Drummer well your drums always sound so good so was wondering how you a) tune them , b) mic them and c) record them
What’s up with your drumstick?
What about them?
@@ThatSwedishDrummer why is cut from the middle? Is it worn out?
@@serhatt yeah, that’s what happens with rimshots
Vad är det för virvel?
Benny Greb signature brass (av Sonor Drums)
Paradiddle diddle!
The paradiddle diddle is RLRLRR LRLRLL 😉
Isn’t that a backwards paradiddle diddle
Technically you could call it an inverted paradiddle diddle, but it's still the six stroke roll ^^
"The inverted paradiddle-diddle".
6-stroke roll has 8 subdivisions, not 6. However we all seem to call this a 6-stroke. Go figure.
Technically it can be called inverted paradiddle diddle, but this is a six stroke roll.
The six stroke roll can be played as sextuplets or straight, and no it doesn’t have 8 strokes.
Is hard ):
I’m the beginning, yes it is! Take it slow for a long time so the muscle memory can be built up 🔥💪
1000
So dio
Paradiddle.
These are inverted rolls, six stroke is RRLLRR
No, it’s a six stroke roll played as sextuplets. What you wrote is just double strokes.
The kit sounds fat. Great tone
Why do you hold your sticks like that?
Like what?
🔥🔥🔥
