- Get ready for a trip down to the Somerset shoreline where Graeme has headed in the hope of getting some fishy action. He stays in a mobile home on a cliff overlooking the sea, not a bad place for a fisherman to reside. But he doesn't do much "residing" as 2 guys staying at the resort have found a dead body of some sort of sea creature right below the cliffs..Yes, our man is straight down there with his camera to find out what it is...all he has to do is follow his nose as the smell is that bad...Then he pops in to see Steve in the West Coast Angling shop for some inside info on where to fish at Blue Anchor Bay. He's off again on a random low light search for an elusive Red Deer up on the edge of Exmoor as he has never filmed one before. Will he be able to get his treasured footage of this Deer? Finally, he is back to Steve for a run down on how to fish Watchet Pier. It's only a short session but something grabs his bait and careers off to towards the Welsh coastline with his manky old pink Squid bait. What on earth is it? A movie length episode, so sit back, relax and join the G-man on his latest expedition....Enjoy.

The deer you saw at 41:25 was a Roe Deer Graeme. Red Deer are a lot larger than Roe, probably 2 or 3 times larger. Nice video, thank you :)
It was a red deer though - that still counts too!
Ha ha yes, it was certainly more red coloured than roe coloured 😀
38:11 there was a deer Graeme. I think you missed to see it. Great video again.
Don't know if you spotted it Graeme but at 38:12 when you zoom down the track there's actually a small deer feeding in the verge. You only see it for a second but it's definitely a deer, looked like a young female.
Yep saw it well spotted
Thanks sir for sharing your sea fishing trip .
I m really glad that although the famous yellow boat is gone the sea fishing continues 😊
Keep up the great work ....
Another great video. I feel like I've been on a mini break myself. Those Foxgloves were stunning. I've never seen so many.
Pleased you enjoyed it.I try to cram in as much as I can. I have never seen acres of Foxgloves like that either. Well worth the trek.
Looks like a harbour porpoise
Around 70 years ago my father used to put long lines out at Blue Anchor and collect the fish on the next low tide.
I have heard that from other people. Must have been exciting waiting for the tide to drop back and see what was caught.
Hi Graham great video again
I used to survey wild-life for the government I must of spent 8 year’s surveying Exmoor and surrounding areas the moor is changes minute by minute it’s a wonderful place I always felt privileged to work on the moor and during that time I sown a awesome amount of time fishing after work , you brought back some loverly minorities I’ve now retired to north Cornwall.
Tight lines my friend 👍👍
🤣 chasing your daughter at the end was sooo funny. Great video once again
Love the beginning where you show the low tide features would make for an awesome layout drawing so when the tide comes in you already know the underwater structures and the selection of lures or bait rigs to use.
I'm 10 years younger than you Graham and i would not be walking on the top of that wall you are a legend 😂😂😂
Graham ,I’ve fished a couple times on that wall while staying in caravan in Watchet ,never ever caught anything with the kids ,but had great fun in the harbour with a fine drop net for prawns ,which kept us feed for the day , Lovely place , people do get good size congers off there , use get down that way again , loved your video by the way 👍
Never caught anything with the kids ??? Do you think they might be a bit big to use as bait ??...I suggest trying something smaller like prawns, crab or Ragworm.....Its a nice spot to fish at Watchet, just a shame the tide goes out so far making the fishing time so short.
one of the best ta fishing episodes lve watched , thanks graham👍
Roe deer Graham not a red mate ,, great video 👍👍🤠
Love watching your Vids. Down to earth wholesome viewing. Great teaching. Keep going.👏👍
Hello Graeme, great video, glad you look well...I think lol, im off fishing tomorrow....at long last and need a break, have a great weekend.
We need some warm sunny weather.
Awesome G, great video, and covers exactly where I’m heading too in 4 weeks time on a “family“ holiday , rods will be coming with me, and blue anchor had been the mark I was considering. brilliant mate👍🏼👍🏼 appreciate your effort 🎣🎣
Check in with Steve at West Coast Tackle,Watchet,or phone him .He should be able to tell you how its all fishing from, the shore down that way.
@@TAFishing thank you for that , I will do 👍🏼
The weather is finally good. Feels like it's been years since it was warm 😂
Another great film Grahame. Definitely a young Roe buck.
The Quantocks are stunning on their day! Well worth exploring more if ever you get the chance. 👍
Porpoise, I think. Lovely spot there. Not to far from me in Glastonbury as the Crow flies!
Being an old angler of your tender years I'd say that that is definitely a porpoise, used to see a few round here in Doset as the sea warms at this time of year!
what a great session Graeme well done that made the whole trip worth it
Happy days not to worry what a place love to be there Graeme keep on going my friend
Been a avid watcher and reader of your content loved every moment ! Ta outdoors is brilliant to
Check out Mike's new channel "Life of Mike"..fishing film just gone up on it.No shortage of action.
That smoothound Graham. Your gonna need a bigger boat! Many thanks again
I'm gonna need a shorter pier !...that was quite a sketchy walk all the way along the top of the wall round to the steps.
I love that part of the country. Been there many times. Have you ever tried a bit further in to North Devon? I had many good fish from Ilfracombe harbour/pier. And the water is so much clearer there. I must say when you were getting that smoothound in and releasing it, all I kept thinking was "Be carful Graeme! Those steps are slippery!"
I have been further West and as you say the water is a lot clearer. Trouble is other than the pier I don't know any good shore marks down that way.
That's a Harbour Porpoise... You can report it to the local marine strandings and they will come and record it. Could be one of many things including by catch or just a sick Porpoise.
Graeme, thanks again great video. Noted your comment about TV in this modern era👍 Barely worth watching 👍 All I watch on the free to view TV is Talking Pictures channel 82 in my area. Great for nostalgia and lovely programmes from the good ‘ole days . 😀
Totally awesome Graham. What luck erm skill. Red dear, smooth hound and eel. Brave charlotte 😂
HaHaHa I like how you scared her with the eel.
That was funny as hell chasing her ....
Another great video Graeme , very nice to see the family but very briefly .
I'm getting close to Colin and the Kestrel...eating my way through the files now.
@@TAFishing Great Graeme and thank you , love all your videos 👍
Good mix of fishing and nature, nice catch on the pier wall Graeme.
If your missus saw you walking along that pier wall (especially as you can’t swim!!) you’d never hear the end of it 😄 fair play Graeme you are fearless, what an amazing gentlemen you are, so entertaining to watch.
😂
Lovely little roe buck loads of fox gloves Nice smooth hound
English sport & relaxation at it's finest. Thanks for the video!
No probs..glad you enjoyed it..Check out the new pike fishing film I did a couple of days ago..its on "Life of Mike" channel..plenty of action.
plenty of adders up on the Quantox, riding my motorcycle back home by the side of the road a couple weeks ago there were about 20 reds just past the Plough at Holford, St Audries is Quantox
Great video 👍🎣👍🍺🍺👍
Graham you’re a legend me and my son love watching your videos great content ❤
Chasing girlie with the eel 5⭐️killer 😂
I find your surf fishing videos very relaxing.. Thanks!
Looks like a harbour porpoise to me Graham.
hope you dont mind me saying but thats the best video you have done as such a mix, loved it, thankyou.
I like to mix them up..talking of mixed film footage,go over to Mike's 2nd channel "life of Mike",we just put up a lure fishing film we made just 48 hours ago..hot off the press !!.
@@TAFishing whats it called?
@@TAFishing whats his channel called
Nice one Graeme 👍🎣🎣🎣
Nice job Graham those were worth waiting for
What a cool watch really enjoyed it
Think iv watched at least 40 vids in last month,,... Love big g
Awesome vid as ever mate 👍
I think it may have been a Roe deer Graeme.
Great video love your sense of humour, muntjac are small deer.
That's a Roe Deer I'm afraid but still a great deer and encounter.
Now I have to drive all the way back there to film all over again !!...
Nice smooth hound, You could class that as a keep fit session for the day aswell 😅 looks a great place to go to.
We used to stay in one of the chalets towards the end of the beach near the train crossing and could fish out the back garden! Had some whiting and pout. We used it as a base for when we worked up there.
If that stool you found tastes of chestnuts, then it's from a red deer!
Of course, that could be LOB! 🤣
I might pass on the taste test !!
great video Graeme when did u make it? i cant remember seeing any weather like that this year. w=i was on the IOW. for 3 weeks and it was very cold and windy, where i stayed the boiler broke down so was as cold in than out..
Held the film over from last year for just a time of year like this..hopefully to cheer viewers up with a bit of warm weather. It has indeed been cold and windy,we still had the heating on for a bit the other day, though I have finished with the logburner for the season. Next job is sweeping the chimney and putting new rope sealant round the door for next October.
Try holford just up the road on the a39 at sunrise and you'll see the crossing the road on their way from where they spend the night .
Well 😊 you ended up having a good session after all.
I know you have been fishing 🎣 for a good number of years now, but the rods you are using look a bit dated and floppy, maybe time to treat yourself to a new rod or two 😉.
Great video.
Cheers Les.
Absolutely no way would I buy a new rod..The ones I use are collector's pieces, near 45 years old.Conoflex rods. They will deffo see my time out, unless I do something stupid like shut them in the car door !!
@TA Fishing yep, I know where your coming from, I to have some oldies that I wouldn't part with.
Don't blame you.
Don't know how far apart we are, but my dad started me fishing at about 5, my uncle was a rep for Effgeco tackle, I am now 70 ( Feb) and still enjoy my fishing 🎣.
Good luck for now and your future trips.
Cheers mate 👍 Les.
For the amount of fishing you do a a decent pair of updated rods would probably near double your casts……£400 on a pair of rods….it’s nothing. You’ve wasted more diesel money than that before driving about on off chances of an odd fish!!!
Steep Holm! Grew up looking at it from the other coast on the Channel!
I would like to shore fish off it ..might need my double ladder to get down to the fish though.I've done a couple of shore trips off Lundy Island, that was interesting, only about 4 safe marks though(At least that was all we could find)
Ahhh my local fishing spot . Caught a very small Tope out of that harbour . Plus the prawns in season
Great video - most interesting!
As always mate nice video
just got back from a fishing sesh caught a pike on a worm and bobber it gave a good scrap it would of been better if it was not for the fact I was using a stiff ass sea fishing rod have a good one mate
Well done on the Pike .
That's it...look to the ground read the signs .....examine the tracks the way u examine a prospective beach...for its denizens,.....the script of their habituations....
Totally impressed with that fish from that situation....
lovely entertaining video Graeme
Sorry to disappoint Graeme but that was a roe deer 👍
So others have said..I was told there are Red deer up in that forest so that's what I expected to see..A great evening of camera hunting though.
Yes a Decayed Dolphin or a Petrified Porpoise.
38:12 - is that not a deer as you zoom in down the road?
Saw a deer in zoom at 38:09
My Brother in law and I fished there a few years ago, at night. He caught something really heavy, but lost it. He tried to lift it up the wall and lost it!! We didn't know there were steps at the end! ( Watchet harbour)
You are a true angler sir.
Was not a red deer on the left hand side of the forest track. When you zoomed in around 38 minutes in. Looks like a hind to me.
You're making me want to go fishing tonight Graeme!
I want to go fishing every night but 3 things stop me..Work...Weather...Wife !..Not sure in which order though
@TA Fishing lol well I'm fishing now due to you, fishing shanklin isle of wight, hopefully I get a nice bass or ray
Graeme, if you are ever in Dorset, near chesil, let me know and I'll change your mind on dogs. I raised my dog on fishing, he's joined me since he was 6 months old, he won't touch your bait, he won't go near your gear, he will however ask for some fuss from you and I know you're a dog man deep down so I'm sure you won't begrudge him a neck tickle and head scruff ;)
We quite like those midweek short break caravan holidays. Just returned from one at Ilfracombe actually. Accommodation was fine, the weather was pants.
Weather is a shocker this year,I am down to grabbing just half a day here and there.
Thats a roe dear Graham and the small deer was a muntjac
I did take another look at 38:11 or so and I never even saw that deer when I was filming...I need to go to Specsavers.
Just a quick question Graeme does the cotton not harm the birds or the fish. May be a silly question. Thank you
Not a silly question at all..I find it mostly stays on the hook as I half hitch mine onto the bait. Some just bed the elastic in the bait and snap it off but if you watch my films I usually do a half hitch .then if you strip it off just put it in a bag.
Great sized silver eel for me that in appearance and behaviour.
Roe buck with a poor head. Red deer about 5x the size.😅
Obviously a lesser spotted short haired Porpoise. Very rare.
Cheers Graeme.
east/west quauntockhead.... quantocks not exmoor....exmoor is the other side of the valley
That's probably why I never saw a Red Deer,I was on the wrong side of a valley. I was only going by what I was told.
@@TAFishing there are red deer on the quantocks but far more on exmoor
Sorry Graeme. That’s a Roebuck. Not a red but fabulous film as usual.
Harbour porpoise, and its skin is retracting from drying out as well as decay damage to the soft tissue. We have many in the Moray Firth , inverness has a sizeable harbour and the channel into the Beauly firth,, The local bottlenose dolphins have been seen attacking and killing their smaller cousin . Maybe a victim from a boat strike or a bottlenose attack over food competition.
Starry ❤well done Greaham
Actually there is no such species as a Starry Smoothhound.Scientists have proven with DNA tests that there is only one Hound. The marks are just random markings and its the anglers that call them Starry Hounds. I guess its a bit like we used to name Leather,Carp,Mirror Carp,Common Carp.Saddleback,Linear etc..its all just a Carp. There was once a light, mottled Porbeagle shark off the Isle of Wight that was thought to be a different species, but its just a markings thing on the same species.
When you caught the smooth hound did any of those guys recognize you?
I think a couple of them followed the Show.
the tail is side to side not up and down .. .. .or is it . .
Nice 🎣🦈
42.41 😂😂😂
Graeme... you the man...
Deer poachers feed their dogs Baked Beans.
Because Beans Means Hinds.
Looks like Harbour Porpoise
Thats a roe buck graham. About 1/5th of the size of a red deer.
I need a bigger camera then...
Haha. There are red deer in that wood though.
You will know when you see a Red Deer, they are much bigger than the Roe deer you saw.
That definitely a roe Graham if you wanna see a red get yourself up Glenshee September-march you will see them in their hundreds from roadside 👍
Apparently there are several thousand on Exmoor. I found a piece that said the Red Deer do better in forested areas than on open moorland.
I have them flowers in my yard they are beautiful
Wonderful ❤
It’s a young roe buck
Harbour porpoise
young roe buck about 1 or 2 year old ,not a red mate
Oh no...I'll have to go back there now..I've never seen a Red so I don't know what they look like..Looked a bit Red to me !!
@@TAFishing a bit like that but 10 times bigger
That's not a dolphin.... It's Keith Arthur!!!
