Great vid lovely stretch of beach not fished there for many years I recommend fish the beach at Ringwould before Kingsdown I always fished the groynes at the Zetland Arms
My father in law used to trawl for white weed along there in the early 50’s. Florists used to buy it. Got his leg caught in the hauler. No safety cut off’s back then. It literally tore it out the socket. Luckily his conkers remained attached to the other leg or my wife would never have been! He managed to get back to shore having made a tourniquet out of an old inner tube. Apparently his leg was twitching the whole way back in. Far too mangled to re-attach. Never did well along there from the shore myself so a dogfish, however depressing to see isn’t actually too bad. 👍🏻
Great vid as per , I enjoy the vids you put out as they are very informative and help newbies like myself , love the bait presentation, it's something I need to work on , all the best and looking forward to the next one 👍
and walk across the golf coarse on the footpath when we going to see you and aram fishing together again miss them vids you two did together one of the best bass fishing sandwich bay and when you went down to Somerset great video s
Was born in Deal and lived close to Sandown Castle, before moving up the coast to Ramsgate. Used to fish that venue as a kid but never did very well. I remember the ground being shingle leading onto sand with rocky patches. From what I have been hearing it's dogfish central atm, with a few pout and other small species being caught, although I know it can produce hounds in the summer. A little further North of your location is the Chequers, where the ground flattens off and you lose the rock patches. Can be excellent here for Rays. Check out 'Nathans fishing adventures' channel, who fishes Chequers and Shakespeare beach in Dover regularly. From those 2 marks he has had over 100 Rays this year. Hope some of this info helps Greg, tight lines.
Thanks baz, i have seen a couple of his vids. 100 rays is too many! 😂 I like catching them now and again but i personally find it gets a little boring fishing for the same species all the time, i have to break it up a little
@@gsp I think it was a challenge he set himself this year, his friend is also in the 90s for rays caught. I'm still waiting for my first beach caught ray, but then again I usually fish with worm baits over rough ground, so not the best setup to target them. I'm only doing more bait fishing this year due to the water not clearing. Usually lure fish for Bass
Hi greg another enjoyable watch matey. The weed is a nightmare it seems to have got a lot bettrer in humber last couple if weeks . But the fishing for me has been pants for the last few weeks . But im limited to places to fish as havnt got car now. I think the content you put out is spot on greg keep it coming . Some people moan about moaning i think. Just chill and go with the flow . All the best mate from grimsby.
Cheers carl and thanks for your kind words. I think weed is becoming worse all over, some places are just unfishable now because of it. It ruins a nice day by the sea side
Always a lottery at Deal as to whether you are going to be weeded out or not nowadays. Fished Dengemarsh yesterday down and up into darkness for sole. Managed a 3lb bass and a solitary whiting. A super trawler came through soon after 200m from the shore, game over. I admired your horticultural knowledge at the start of video. Puts me to shame.😏👍
My horticultural knowledge should be pretty good as i am head gardener/estate manager at a castle in kent🤦♂️ if i didnt know the plants in the garden id be ashamed of myself😂 Ive never fished that far up from deal and tbh i dont think i will be rushing back there😂 Nice bass
Hi dude, love your vids. Just thought i would let you know iwas at elmly ferry in sittingbourn and it was heaving with mullet literally 2 days ago, i remember you were gonna try fish them early winter last year.
What do the mullet along the Swale estuary feed on? I can never seem to get them interested in taking any baits, as kids we even booked out a special mullet fishing book from sittingbourne library, we tried everything to get them to bite, I thought they might going after the tiny harbour rag worm around the rocks but never got one to bite on those either
@@goonerboymuza i went down there a few weeks ago and there were some good size ones about. In 90mins i managed to get 1 to look at a piece of bread but it didnt take it. Im thinking maggots may work🤔
Hi Greg fished there end of July roughly where you was when them gale force souwesterlys blew up managed 2 dogfish but had to pack up due to the wind had a job getting back to the car give chequers a try I like that better had bass there also good for rays just park up
Always enjoy the videos, when the weed is that bad why don't you just cut the line at the leader knot and strip the weed off then remake the leader knot again,so much quicker 👍
