Really enjoyed that video as I've fished deal beach for years had a 6 and 7 pound bass from beach in summer but I'm same as you happy to eat the dog fish
In the early 70s i saw hundreds of nice sized cod being caught on that pier . Used to go down in the winter as my dad did business down there . I loved it great times .
No I never have but I do love a dab too! Dungy seems to be getting worse and worse for dabs and they do seem to be getting thinner on the ground throughout kent
@@gsp oh ok we used to drive down in my van from the solent for the dab comp it was always a good day out and a bucket full of dabs for dinner at the end of it ! We found plenty of them around by the boats just to the left of the locked up car park !
Nice session nice wee dabs, I like how you will keep a couple of fish really enjoyed it well done, I do like how you put a protective tube up but the rod never seems to be in it how’s that protecting the rod and line 😂😂 till the next one tight lines
@@gsp yep done it myself. Best avoided with a 7oz lead and 60 pound shockleader.funny when you see someone do it but not so funny when you do it yourself with someone watching.
No you don't need a license to fish the sea in the UK but there are size limits on most species and other restrictions on Bass. If you search UK size limits lots of lists will come up and its very easy to screenshot them and save them on your phone👍
Hi Greg I know how you felt when you just get set up and on your second cast crack off it really pxxxses you off don’t it but if you’ve not blanked at the end of the day alls forgotten
In what sense? I can't control the size of the fish that take my bait but if its a legal size then Im within my rights to keep it for food. I spend enough money on fishing so if I have the chance to enjoy something I catch I will👍
Great channel new subscriber, Im new to fishing, just inherited a ton of shore fishing gear, so I will be having a go soon! when you catch one you are keeping to eat, what do you do with it? kill it straight away, if so do you keep it in water or wrap it in something?
Yes you can keep it in a bucket of water just to keep it chill. I would kill anything straight away just to put it out of any suffering. Just always keep it out of the sun👍 thanks for subscribing I appreciate it👍
Thanks for the video, Greg.We moved from Islington to Deal in 1982, so I fished the pier many times growing up.
I will definitely do it again when I have more time. I enjoyed fishing the pier. 1982 was when I was born😂
Good session, also great that youve given info on where to park and links to the pier, great for newbies looking for spots to fish 🐟 👍🎣
Cheers wayne👍 I'm trying to put that into all my new vids to help out and add a bit more info
I'm quite surprised you never lost any gear there Greg, to the left side of the pier can be quite productive, tight lines
Nice to see you left that crack off in the video. Most would edit that bit. Just show's it happens to us all! Great vid.
Cheers tony👍 I like to keep it real, we all blank, we all have nightmares and we all crack off now and again! 🤦♂️😂

Nice bass! I've never really fished the beach at deal, I'll give it a go this summer 👍
Fished Deal Pier regularly from the mid 60's to the mid 80's and I have never seen it that empty.
It's not as popular as it once was but it is getting a better reputation over the last couple of years and Angling activity is definitely increasing
Brilliant thanks Greg great to see the parking and pier info. Well done on the detail in this one
Cheers Richard, I appreciate the positive feedback 👍

I wish times were like that still! I'd love to pop down to deal pier and get a few cod🤦♂️😂
Nice session 👌 enjoyed thay 👍🎣🎣
Cheers Leighton 👍
Great little session mate enjoyed that 👍
Cheers mate 👍👍
Fished at that exact spot last week!
How did you do?
@@gsp Brilliant day, plenty of nice sized whiting, a dogfish and a poor cod. Mainly caught on baited feathers 15 feet out
That does sound like a good day👍 any bite makes it worth while. Well done👍
Got to love a bit of pier fishing just a shame most don't let you fish at night.
Nice video and love a dab or 4 ! Do you fish the dab comp at Dungy?

It isn't! 🤦♂️😂 I put it there for show! I'm just a bit flakey and will start doing something and then completely change my plans 🤦♂️😂
Saw that coming.bail arm off. Lucky you didn't smash you rod on the railings.
I know, I think everyone has done it at least once🤦♂️

I know! The first thing I did when it happened was look round to see if anyone was watching! 🤦♂️😂 Like I had tripped over or something
Do we need a licence for fishing in Sea?
Are there any limits on catch?
Thanks in Advance

@@gsp thanks a million for help🙂
Can you do another Deal pier vid before the end of the summer, there are some decent fish about at the min
I will definitely try to, yes. It is an expensive pier to fish tho🤦♂️😂
@@gsp when you buy a ticket mention you’d like a concessions ticket. They’ll do them half price no questions asked
I don't look that old do i🤦♂️😂
@@gsp no it’s for people that work under a certain amount of hours I think. Not saying you look jobless either 😂😂
I'd like to have a week when I do less than 50hrs!
Ilove fishing fish big

Exactly Alan! 1 crack off doesn't result in a nightmare session and any fish is good
Forgot to open the bail arm. Been there 😬
Your the first person to notice! 😂 I kept it in because I think it's probably happened to everyone with a fixed spool
Hey nice video, I’m going down tomorrow any tips?
Take a drop net and target the thornback rays, there should be a few feeding tomorrow 👍
@@gsp thanks will do
Weather looked grim mate 😬
Is the bearded wonder gonna make an appearance any time soon ?
Hopefully, he hasn't been seen on the shoreline for a while!
6.20 a.rod??!!
Bit excessive
I would like to fish with you I’m in Whitstable Kent if you’re interested buddy
Yeah that could work mate, I'm away for a couple of weeks but when I'm back we can arrange something 👍
@@gsp I hope your fishing have a good two weeks 👍
@@stewarttodd2930 I'm away with the misses but obviously snuck a couple of rods in the case🤦♂️😂😂
Good video im from kent and this is a good spot
Cheers ollie👍👍
I wonder whether fee to fish off the pier pays for the person taking the fees.
I don't know if it would on Deal Pier, it is expensive compared to other piers and the amount of fishermen is always lower than other piers
Its not m8 they have to pay too
Perhaps you should let the fish get a little bit bigger mate bit more sport
