Realistic Fishing great video. Some folks hate on cats and carp but I find that they are some of the most fun to catch. Might I plug cats and carp RUclips channel 😂 Oh I was going to ask cuz I see you always shore fishing, have you considered getting a small boat. I have a 15 ft duo boat I got for 800 bucks. Had it for 3 years and haven’t had to spend a dime exempt on gas and registration. I’m sure you could find a nice cheap boat.
@@lorenaramirez-hm3pt Don't get me wrong, I am envious of all kayaks and boats, but I still catch more bass than most of the people here in Austin TX just by knowing which presentation to use, where to cast and how to retrieve my lure.
Just did this Saturday after a thunderstorm. Carp were feeding right up close to the bank. Got a couple & missed or spooked more. Fun. Thanks for making and sharing!
Really appreciate how you showed your rig, how you used the bread on the hook, type of hook, everything. I've never fished for carp and now I know how. Keep It Realistic.
You are correct that was an amazing Carp. This vid was very realistic. If you patiently watch it to the end there is a payoff. Exactly like Carp fishing. Patience is everything
go for one on an old spinning reel with the drag down a click, its so much fun to fight carp for the line, our common carps are pretty hefty out here and they give a fight that doesnt compare to any other
As a dedicated carp angler myself, I absolutely thank and appreciate your respect for them! They look so much better without an arrow through the side! Rock on brother! New sub!
I used to fish for carp all the time back in the 80's and 90's. Always used an 11- 1/2 foot steelhead noodle rod with spinning reel and 6 pound test monofilament. Small wide gap hooks (Eagle Claw Style 42) and cans of corn for bait. We had a ball! We used to catch lots of fish over 20 lbs.!
I saw some small carp in a creek on my way to work...I cant wait to try this! I too have a H2O Express Rod. Your videos have overall helped me become a better angler..For that I thank you!!
Thank you for this! My sons and I LOVE fishing. We have been after carp! Because of your video we got one yesterday, he broke out line lol, but at least we got to see him a bit out of the water! Thank you❤
Love your multi-species approach to fishing, goes along with my channel. I haven't caught a carp on purpose for years. I remember we used to use Wheatie Balls for them. I am toying with making a video using my 3-weight fly rod just to see if I can land one on it. I have so much fun watching your videos, thanks, Jerry.
now THIS is a PROPER CARP! I know, I've caught more carp than any other species in my life : ) Finally carp get some love, they are probably the best freshwater fighters..
That was a big carp, it brings back memories of how my Brothers and Buddies used to carp fish. We made peanut dough balls, you just make a peanut butter sandwich, knead it into a big ball, then pinch off a piece for the hook. We used the same sinker set up as we did for catfish, talk about some great fun!
I remember catching carp with canned corn as a kid. =) I usually catch them on Rat-L-Traps when I'm bass fishing now. When you can see a carp near the surface, you should try to catch one on a popper, it is pretty exciting, that's the next fishing challenge. =) Nice job! They are strong fish!
Carp never bite my topwater stuff. I had one eat a rooster tail and snap my line because I was on 4lb test and didn't expect it at all. Plus my drag was too high ;(
Every time I'm about to try something new and need tips I can rely on you already having a video on it almost 100% of the time lol. Love the videos, brother. Hope you're well!
Every time I'm about to try something new and need tips I can rely on you already having a video on it almost 100% of the time lol. Love the videos, brother. Hope you're well!
Carp are very fun to catch. I think the best if you want to bank fish because nothing fights harder where I am. Do it again, but always have a net with you if you carp fish.
Love catching freshwater Jack's, lol. Nice change up. See some haters in the comments, some folks just don't like a fish pulling drag on 'em I guess. My theory is, If a fish can't pull drag, it will make great bait. Great video, loving it.
Have to say, I'm a bit amazed at the size of hook and line you're using to catch Carp, even with the bait you're using, I was catching some really beautiful sized Carp last week, and most, if not all, were caught on either a size 16 or a size 14 barbless hooks, that was on 6lb line and 4lb hook length
Outstanding job on getting that Carp, using that " high dollar" bait.😉 Also, thank you for testing out that H2O Express rod. I haven't had the chance yet to really test mine out yet. Catching a carp that size will in fact test any rod, especially when you accidentally foul hook it on the tail end. Take care.
Good fishing and quite a catch. I like channels that focus on the simplicity of fishing without all the trendy high tech expensive gear. I can still have fun shore casting in a lake catching perch, sunnys and small bass. Just being out there is more what it’s all about for me. Time to stop thinking and just be. A good way to keep your bread from falling off is by wetting your hands before you put the bread on the hook. The moisture from the water seeps into the bread and basically turns the bread back into dough and it packs really tightly onto your hook. This will keep bluegill from taking the bread off the hook when they bite at it.
Realistic Fishing Or fishermen who respect the fish. Come to the UK and try and fish on a size 1 barbed hook with no unhooking mat, no landing net and standing up with the fish and you’ll get banned from every single venue. No carp care shown in this video whatsoever.
Yeah, very elusive fish considering you almost always know they are there from the sound. Catching them while fishing for something else happens, but trying to catch them exclusively is tough. More and more are starting to eat them now, too.
EC Fishing Common carp, Buffalo carp, and grass carp are not destructive. Asian carp are destructive and invasive however, but they aren’t true carp, they are just called carp.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been searching for videos like these for a while now. All I find are videos of people catching huge fish and stuff or fishing on boats. Nothing I can do as a beginner.
Carp are a blast to catch. My biggest one was 14 lbs. I caught it on a ultralight with 6 lb test. Took me 45 minutes to get that fish in. Had to use my finger on the spool as drag. Best fish fight of my life.
So glad to see you up to 15k subs man. I subbed to your channel before any other fishing related one. In your description it matched up because I myself had gotten away from fishing for a long time and was just getting back into it(Had a lot going on in life and just had to do something). People talk about shaming and bullying and unfortunately you see it on here with fishing gear as much as anywhere and it's good to show people new to the sport that you can get out there and do it without spending tons. While nice gear can help, it's not gonna make up for time and experience. If anything it's better to start out with the average gear because then you can actually utilize the quality products even more. I've brought in several largemouth over 6lbs on the $15 Lew's Hank Parker combo actually using the line that came prespooled and YUM Dingers and Ozark Trail knockoffs. Point being you can't catch a fish if your not trying so go ahead and get gear you can afford and get to the water instead of worrying about what gear everyone else has or wants.

As a fellow carp fisher for 20 years. Improved technique / try putting thumb in mouth and grip hard and support belly or tail to lift. Net is of course far better as you mentioned. The release is essential to learn. Please hold them in the water for at least 30 or more seconds until they swim free strongly. Best to grip tail root fairly firm whilst supporting the fish upright until it is revitalized / then wait till it kicks firm and release. This is going to give the fish a better chance of living after you catch. When thrown they easily hit rocks and can lose an eye or bruise as they collide with sticks and rocks underwater. Then they get infections and die slowly over the next few days.
That seems like way too much trouble for an invasive and durable fish like this. I have seen a carp live in a bucket of water for 5 hours. You must be from across the pond. 😀
Fish are not invasive anymore around the world. Look it up. Myself using landingnet, unhookingmat and catching them on float. But to be honoust, carp are the biggest fish in our country besides catfish. So we take more care of them. Yes ... I'm also from across the pond 😁 (Netherlands). Tide lines!
There are still species of carp that are invasive, YOU look it up. Asian carp, big head carp and even common carp are considered invasive. Carp are ruining lakes and rivers over here, especially asian carp.
Realistic Fishing call your self a fisherman 🤣 absolute scumbag, handle properly or don't fish for em, NEVER grab them by the gill it's not a bass you ignorant scumbag
Honestly by far one of my favorite videos! Nice way to change it up with a real nice carp. That fish sure wanted to borrow under those trees but you were having none of it haha. Last time I targeted carp I was using a light action rod with 8 pound mono. Needless to say I think you probably had the better set up haha. Can’t wait to see what you come out with next!
Very cool! Love to see you catch different species. I've started to fish for carp. I use cooked tortilla (stays on hook better than uncooked) cut into small pieces after cooking. I also throw out a fist full of canned corn to bring them in. Lately I've caught 3-5 pound carp while going for Bluegills, the drag screams when they hit to mealworms!! So much fun fighting them on light setup!!
My morning fishing hole lately I've noticed a lot of carp and been thinking it would be fun to hook into one of them massive beast! Will try this soon and give you the update
j fishslayer I love catching carp much more than catching the big blue’s that I catch the only problem is my videos get less views/watch time when catching carp
Carps are a lovely fish to catch, biggest i caught was a 8kg one, it sure made me fight for it, at first i thought i was dragging a tree or smth, but it sure as hell is worth it :)
LOJO I was bass fishing today and on the walk back to the car I spotted one chilling, i plopped the crank bait I had rigged in and it was a fat carp who absolutely chomped it. Very odd
I ment no disrespect when asked. I like to throw a pole out for catfish and carp and throw for bass and panfish on my other pole. Keep up the great work.
My grandfather used to take me to river to catch carp with Wheaties it was a lot of fun. You just take a hand full of the Wheaties and dunk it in the water to make a big dough ball just pinch off what you need. Might make a fun video.
I’m watching utube videos to learn how to fish carp cause I seen a huge monster over 60 lbs the other day too. Best part is know body fishes for them here.
Nice carp! Caught one once on my last cast of the night for catfish, put the rest of my worms for the hell of it on the hook. I wasnt aware they fought so hard.
Big ole belly on that carp. Hard fighting fish, and super strong. I 9nce caught a 19 lb carp in a creek on a little steel eagle claw # 6 brim hook. Fought that thing for 10 minutes. Would get up to my net and run back out. It destroyed the drag on my zebco 33 lol, but it was worth it. Still my biggest fish of any species to date.
Try top water carp fishing!! Just mush a small part so it stays on the hook but have enough bread to the point where it floats! It’s a lot of fun! I do it often at a local pond!
I am still super busy, so I am releasing this ahead of schedule. I will read the comments when I have a chance. Keep it realistic!

Carps are a lovely fish to catch, biggest i caught was a 8kg one, it sure made me fight for it, at first i thought i was dragging a tree or smth, but it sure as hell is worth it :)
That was a nice carp. Great job keeping him from getting tangled up underneath that tree. 😁
The battled commenced!
I respect you soo much for releasing the fish !! Good luck with other good videos ! Keep it up !
I usually do 👍
I like to bow fish carp, in a decent night I rail 10 to 12 of them, I like to release them out in the bank where the coyotes can eat them
Isn’t carp an invasive species?
I seen a huge 30 plus lb carp in the river I fish at. Never see anyone fish for them there. Gonna have to try your technique and get me one🎣😃
haha never heard of sight fishing for CARP!!! But hey, whatever works lol
Test those lews reels out with braid and you will see why its fun. 💪
lol
For me it’s the opposite when I see them I can’t catch them and when I can’t see them I do and they snap me
LOJO I was bass fishing today and on the walk back to the car I spotted one chilling, i plopped the crank bait I had rigged in and it was a fat carp who absolutely chomped it. Very odd
That’s the only way I fish for carp throw bread wait for them to bite then cast on top of them
Carp fishing kicks ass.
💪 Good fighters!
Carp was the first fish I ever caught, makes it my favorite!
I respect u for not giving the fish the crust that’s the worst part
I ment no disrespect when asked. I like to throw a pole out for catfish and carp and throw for bass and panfish on my other pole. Keep up the great work.
I didnt think you were being disrespectful. Just pointing you towards the answer to your question.
My grandfather used to take me to river to catch carp with Wheaties it was a lot of fun. You just take a hand full of the Wheaties and dunk it in the water to make a big dough ball just pinch off what you need. Might make a fun video.
Someone else said they used wheaties too 👍
"I don't want em to get into those trees... Got me under the trees." Lol
Thats how it goes 😀
I like how you explained your tackle and gear. Not just show the fish fight
Hell ya right on buddy don't always need a leader to catch fish I have drop shotted with straight braid and caught plenty of bass
no leader necessary 👍
Nice catch! So simple but it worked! Haven’t caught a carp yet, but I saw a big one dying the other day.
A little bread ball might do the trick 👍
Realistic Fishing for the dying one? I doubt it
I’m watching utube videos to learn how to fish carp cause I seen a huge monster over 60 lbs the other day too. Best part is know body fishes for them here.
That was great. I got my first carp last week. That was a great fight.
Strong eh?
Very
Nice carp! I target them a lot and are fun to catch.
Thanks! I see them on your instagram 👍
Realistic Fishin is Lit!
👍
That was very cool. Good tips and makes me want to try to go out and catch some carp.
👍
Get em on the fly! So much fun
What weight do you use for carp? I never fly fished for carp, but only read about it. I know that it will really test your skills.
Jeffrey Lunday I would recommend 6wt-9wt, I usually fish on a 5wt because the fight fun. Personal preference goes a long ways though.
Rush Voorhis Outdoors What flies do you recommend for carp?
Rush Voorhis Outdoors Thank you.
I dont see them feeding on top, if I did I might try that.
Great video, I love carp fishing especially on light tackle, I use fake and real corn 🤘😎
Carp are a great fish to catch, nice video.
👍
It is cool you caught the carp on a circle hook. I will have to try them with a hair-rig and see how they perform.
Nice carp! Caught one once on my last cast of the night for catfish, put the rest of my worms for the hell of it on the hook. I wasnt aware they fought so hard.
Sweet. I’m going to have to try this. The pond near my house is loaded with carp.
Nice 👍
Amigo I love your fishing skills. Nice video
carp are a lot of fun! never got one on a baitcaster, looks like fun!
Cool video I've tried to do that but failed twice I might try again this year
Be quiet and still, and keep those eyes peeled. 😲
Love the realism!
Catch carp the BEARDed way!
Beard = Bread
Awesome, I love stalking carp on the surface myself 👌
👍
Try top water carp fishing!! Just mush a small part so it stays on the hook but have enough bread to the point where it floats! It’s a lot of fun! I do it often at a local pond!
These werent feeding on top, if I see them doing that I might try 👍
