I'm Israeli. I'm concerned about losing anyone's support, but I'm even more concerned that not enough Israelis are asking themsleves why we are losing support, and of those that do ask, too many explain it away as mere antisemitism without so much as watching a single documentary from the Palestinian perspective. Instead of shunning the world, we should ask it for help to find a fair solution with equal rights to everyone in this land.

How about a single nation? I am betting close to a hundred thousand Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza genocide so far and may be twice as many disabled. So about 200k disabled people would require a lot of people to help look after them which means they will be having less kids. I think this is on purpose. As an Israeli, thats true. Most Israelis know that and appreciate US support. Israelis love America and feel connected to it
Every year the US contributes around 3.8 billion dollars to Israel, which is all spent on American arms, the Israeli defense budget is around 32.5 billion, so the US is responsible for about 11.7 percent of the Israeli defense budget. This is obviously substantial, but not the difference between life and death. You could say that many countries only spare Israel because they're American allies, but Israel was not an American ally before 67 so Israel survived their most precarious years on their own, and by now are even recognized and cooperating with some neighbors, which would be unheard of last time Israel was on it's own.
So? Do you think they will get away with using them? And how many can they use without themselves being affected? We are talking about a very small country.

The entire history of this conflict is extremely complex (due to being decades old), but what has been happening since Oct 7th isn't complex, it's war crimes and crimes against humanity - mostly from the Israeli side. Israel and Germany both have learned nothing from their history. I believe the people have, but the governments have not. And the USA are stupid anyway, so they are not entitled to an opinion.

Israel was born in conflict. At its inception it made agreements ( with the British who were withdrawing and the US who were supporting ), rendering it a vassal state.
It receives aid, weapons, and political support from the US.
All major decisions regarding it are taken in the USA.
It has no independence and is incapable of surviving independently.

Weaponry being the most crucial.
But one should not underestimate the role of political and economic support especially when most countries have turned against Israel, due to its brazen disregard for international consensus.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that a tiny little country like Israel has to import nearly everything and exports almost nothing.
They export military drones to Azerbaijan to ethnically cleanse the Armenians. And they also export military policing to the NYPD, LAPD, Atlanta PD, etc.

Israel gives back to America, not just by buying military equipment, but with their technology, medicine, intelligence, agriculture etc. America needs israel as well.
Funny how some folks are laser focused on aid to Israel when it's a fraction of our total foreign aid (well over $100B) not counting Ukraine and far less than we give multinational oil companies and agri business. Care to explain why?
It's 3 billion, which is given to Israel as credits to buy weapons from US defense contractors. All of the money has to be spent in the USA. So it's like an American subsidy to US weapons manufacturers.
Also that $3bn represents only something like 0.005% of the US annual budget. The way people like you talk about it, Americans can't have anything nice because that tiny fraction (which anyway ultimately subsidizes the US weapons industry) goes to Israel. In terms of Israel's annual budget, the American credits is about .6 of 1% of the total annual budget, although it comprises 15% of the military budget. It's not like the Israeli economy is dependent on the American largesse, and the military budget would make up the shortfall. Israel has its own advanced weapons industry and there are plenty of other countries to buy weapons from.
Nevertheless, although Israel would manage well enough without US aid, there are benefits to both the USA and Israel in the arrangement. No reason for Israel not to accept it and have security cooperation with the USA but if the US chooses to end the arrangement Israel will do fine and it's not like Americans would notice the difference one way or the other.
I am astounded by how effective propaganda is even with today's glut of information!

@@samnous2002 It's been well over 3 billion this year due to the conflict. Just in April when the most recent bill was passed, it was $15 billion in military aid ($26 billion in total), according to the Washington Post. This is excluding aid to prop up the Israeli economy.

We have seen how the well disciplined US army has acted after 9/11. Considering what has happened on 7/10 I find it quite remarkable how restrained the ill-disciplined conscript army acts. They seem to be able to keep the civilian casualties quite lower than their american counterparts.
