    Monster feet are good for stomping! Have any further questions about the process? I'd be happy to answer

      I know this isn't about the feet but how did you make the feathers on the head?

    • @KazplayVideos
      @KazplayVideos  6 лет назад +3

      The feathers are craft foam! I used scissors and a wood engraver to add texture and then painted them :)

      Ok question so when I'm barefoot I walk digitigrade and can't really walk flat footed could something like this be modified more so as to eliminate the heal entirely similarly to how the hoof shoes are done as I've been thinking of doing a Brooklyn costume from gargoyles

    To sew foam on a sewing machine, tear strips of tissue paper to place at the top and bottom of your foam and sew through the paper. The foam layers slide through the machine better and the tissue paper tears away when your seam is done. This is a great video to make pileated woodpecker feet for an old-growth forest mascot that I’m working on. Thanks!

    These are honestly beautiful, love how you added silicone to the fabric for the texture (I've gotta try that sometime)! :D Could I ask how you made Arakkoa's feathers, as well? They're the most realistic artificial ones I've seen on a costume like this!

    • @KazplayVideos
      @KazplayVideos  6 лет назад +1

      Maybe I should do a video about how to make them sometime! But the short answer is that they are made out of craftfoam and I used a wood engraver, scissors and paint to shape them :)

      Kazplay Videos Thanks so much for the info, it really helps! And I bet a video on them would be great! :D I never would've guessed they were foam, especially due to all their detailing :o

    Do you have any tips on foam carving? My weak fingers always get super tired with hours of chopping and cutting, and when I try and use the knife, the foam just squished and doesn’t cut.

    • @KazplayVideos
      @KazplayVideos  6 лет назад

      Yes I do! Keep your blade sharp! You can get a small sharpening stone or a round kitchen knife sharpener to extend the life of your blades. Or just pull out a fresh blade! And you can see that I didn't need to get the foam perfectly smooth, just the basic shape. Hope that helps!
