Ironically, I actually felt the emotion of this chapter the 2nd time through the game rather than the 1st. It’s weird to think that considering people generally love blind reactions, but Chapter 5 works better with context. When I first played FE4, I was a bit disappointed since we the audience knew about Deirdre being married to Arvis well before Sigurd found out, so it didn’t feel like a huge twist in Belhalla. I appreciated it the 2nd time because I realized that the Deirdre reveal was meant to be the straw that broke the camel’s back (Sigurd’s in this case). For Sigurd, everything is going downhill for him. His father dies, he sends his son and best friend to Isaach, his sister and brother-in-law die in an ambush, etc. Even when he hopes for Seliph to grow up strong, he says so as if he knew he would not live to see his son grow up. The chapter has the atmosphere of a one-way march to death, so when Arvis traps Sigurd’s group and is about to execute them, the reveal of Deirdre being married to Arvis is basically the equivalent of “Stop! He’s already dead!” It’s pouring salt on the fatal wound, so it comes across as Sigurd having the most shitty final month(?) of his life.
I actually felt it was completely "Off" the first time through, around the 40th second, the melody is just not ... Going high enough, it's too tame and all the notes used all feel weirdly off It is a March, but it's stuck between "epic" and "sad" And there's no valid reason to be sad about it, you're going for those that are portraied as bad people... I just didn't expect the deirdre part, which is the fucking worst moment for me, like damn "Hey, here's your wife btw, and she doesn't even remember the man she loved, also you're about to die without having any chance to say something about it"

It's the End of an Era. Grannvale basically imploded, as the dukes that held it up all either died or had their remaining legacy broken. Even Alvis signed off his freedom and power, ironically.
I think the FE4 Legendary Weapons were handled best since (usually) only one unit can wield it. This makes it almost feel as though it is there destiny instead of just a strong unit with an S rank.
I completely concur. FE4 was the only game where i felt like weapon were truly special. They belonged to certain units with full holy blood. The weapon made them Gods on the battle field and even with those weapons, the game could be difficult if not careful.

Sigurd was the best tragical Lord of all the Fire Emblem franchise. Such a hard time I got to only watch him being killed in front of his beloved after such a tragic journey.
